I also make most meals bulk, meaning I want them to last at least 2 meals. I was raised by someone who was taught cooking by a depression era home maker. Cheap breakfast - crustless quiche - lasts all week. You can always put a crust on it. But its cheese, eggs, and milk. If you want more, frozen spinach works well. Cheap…

Seasonal fruits and vegetables are the cheapest foods I can typically buy. Frozen vegetables are pretty cheap too. Legumes and beans are a great source of protein and fiber and are incredibly cheap if you buy them in bags. They just need to be soaked overnight and then slow cooked during the day. Eggs are by far one of the…

Personally, breakfast is icky. Yes, icky. I will not eat it, not in a train, not in a plane, not at all. However, my children appear to love breakfast. So I feed them. I have friends who have to eat first thing in the morning, or else they are evil and mean. So they eat breakfast for the sake of keeping friends. I think…

I started with 70 lbs to lose and was in the obese range of BMI. I started restricting calories and upping my work out on the last day of August. In Sept I lost 15 lbs, 5 more than likely to water and 10 real lbs. October has been slower of course and isn't done, but I expect to hit 10 lbs this month. That will put me into…

I almost always have a green smoothie for breakfast. It usually involves 2 -3 cups of greenery (spinach, kale), a small tomato, banana, frozen berries, and coconut water. I hate cucumbers in drinks, but you can put that in there if so inclined. I don't know what types of sugars you are avoiding, the banana is a higher…

I tend to favor this approach. I have always actively monitored my children's intake, not necessarily for calorie but for nutrients. I am fairly strict about food that is in the home and explain why certain things are limited. My teen boy is at a healthy weight, however his overall fitness level was lacking at the end of…

I take 2 pilates style classes a week. 1 is a heated mat pilates, which in the beginning was hard and I couldn't do some of the exercises at all, and now I use it as my "easier class" to loosen tight muscles and work on down. The other class is a barre pilates class, which honestly is just flat out hard for me, but is…

Age: 37 5'11" SW: 225 CW: 202.5 GW: 150 range (140 to 160) Feel free to add me. Being tall is both a blessing and a curse depending on the day.

And awesome, I quoted the wrong thing. Meh, hopefully who ever needed the advice got it. I think mine is working fine, or at least well enough that I am currently losing with my intake.

I think I am confused. I don't think this was for me, my diary isn't public. Or at least I don't think it is. If it is, my really high calories burn days are hikes that last about 8 hours, 10 plus miles, with a pack. I only enter my exercise on my fit bit and let it all come over. I make sure to get the right time logged,…

I don't think I get jealous of the success someone had/has. I tend to get jealous of their motivation level or ability to prioritize their workouts better than I do. I don't know if that is jealousy either, I really just want to hear how they did it, to see if I can improve on what I am doing. But mostly I am losing my…

I think I put it in fit bit as vinyasa - as it is a flow/power style and seems to match that description. I am pretty tall and weighty, so my calories (estimated) are 400 or so. I have also recorded it as 290 when I know I just didn't try that hard.
-
Depends on the level, your size, and speed of the flow - some sites say 250 and some say 450 for 60 minutes.

This occurred to me just recently. I don't think I have restricted myself during the holidays. I haven't actually "dieted" all that much, so I am not sure how I will proceed. I don't want to slow my loss, but I really enjoy the holidays with all the family special treats. I make candies and cookies, and special glazed…

I learned the basics from my mother and grade school biology for nutrition. My degree is science based, so college taught me more in depth biology, anatomy, brain functionality with eating behaviors, and of course the nutrition course that seems to be with all BA or BS degrees. I learned physical training from the…

I eat the 1200, but I do it net. If I don't exercise or move, that's all I get. I have a sedentary job and I don't make a concentrated effort to move, I can be pretty still as my evening hobbies are sedentary too. I wear a fit bit to help me track steps and to log exercise. If you feel good and aren't having any issues and…

At 15, I treated myself to a new yoga mat. I don't have anything else set up, but have been eyeing a new workout top. Maybe at 30 I will get that.
-
I almost did a side plank with a lifted top leg. Maybe next week I will be able to get there all the way.

Also, a lot of my lunches recently have been canned black beans. A whole can might be 350 calories, it's pretty dang filling.

I won't look at your diary, but when I have had problems feeling satisfied, I start switching my meals to mostly raw foods, with some fatty substance thrown in. For example, I feel super hungry, my lunch will be 2 whole bell peppers, 3 cups of spinach, an apple, some carrots and about a cup or two of raw broccoli. The…

I have little patience for weight loss too, but without extreme measures and misery (for most) fast weight loss is really hard. And according to most kinda dangerous without medical supervision. I guess knowing the end goal is always a day closer and that little steps turn into big mile stones, is the only that keeps me…

I suppose I have been on "crash diets", but they were couched as "cleanses". I did vegan, raw food, gluten free, after a tax season for 3 months. I wasn't really trying to lose weight but trying to break my habit of Guinness and jelly beans. Those were my main source of calories for about 4 months. I really don't recommend…

I have mostly given it up - mostly due to timing of when I prefer to drink. I really enjoy have a drink when I get home, which is where the majority of my problem is. I can have just one, but why do I have to? After all I am home and once I drink, I won't go anywhere. This is my problem. My preferred workout time for most…

I have my fit bit set at sedentary - it took me some time to figure out the website as I do almost everything via the app. I have noticed that the fit bit gives me more calories than MFP - but overall the difference isn't that great. I think it's because I have them both set on sedentary with no workouts. I was adding in…

Also, I don't wear the sticky stocks, they irritate me to no end. I record it as an hour of pilates. It might be more, but I like the wiggle room.
-
I take a barre class once a week. Mine seems to incorporate pilates, weights, and yoga into it. If you enjoy full body resistance workouts, then you might enjoy it. Also, until I took that class and some other pilates classes, I never realized how much an inch movement could hurt and burn.

That has to the best advice I have seen for sodium, hopefully it's real. Googling now.

No issues with Mirena for me, but I still get longish menses and cramping regularly too, which others don't get. I am happy enough with it, no babies. No more babies for me.

I won't offer any advice on weight loss, you are paying people for that. Motivation? Sure I can answer what keeps me motivated. I have been slim and strong and tall most of my life. It defined part of my personality and to be perfectly brutally honest, I was always quite proud of how I looked. When I lost it, it took me a…

5 11- goal of net 1200 calories a day. I try to eat back most of my work out calories. I typically eat gross calories between 1200 and 2200, depending on work out. 2200 is when hiking, 1200 is on a rest day. My goal is 2 lbs a week and my goals have been approved by my physician.
