Mine too :) And... I run best when I'm upset. The exhilaration takes over the negative feelings and I finish feeling rejuvenated and fresh.

You rock. Thank you <3

I was 1.8 lbs from my goal when the holidays hit. I gained 14 lbs in three weeks! :( I ate healthy, but had been eating pretty clean beforehand. During the holidays there was a lot more eating out... I can only assume that the processed/salty stuff in restaurants did it, even though I opted for healthier choices? In any…

I'm running my first in March :)

Would love some more friends and encouragement :)

Sent both of you an add request. I like to encourage and I could use the motivation and encouragement myself :)

^ I like this. Enjoy the ride :) I started back to running in March and am training for my first half this coming March. Shooting for a Spartan race in November, then my first full in March 2016. I am stoked! Goals are great to help you stay motivated. But too big a goal may end up getting you down if you encounter…

My first half is in March and I've been stressing over "what if I have to walk at all?" A friend told me that nobody ever walks in a half. But from what I'm reading here... I probably wouldn't be the only one?
-
Hopefully we both will :) When is your half? Mine is March 15. 8 wks :open_mouth:

I know I'm the newbie here, but would love to chime in. I ate fairly healthy over the holidays, just slacked a little... so was very discouraged to realize I gained 14 lbs in 3 wks. I was 1.8 lbs away from my goal weight prior to that, too :( I guess since I was eating pretty clean before the holidays and then ate more…

I'm new to this thread. But I dig it! Wulfax, I smiled when I read your first post about your C25k sentiments. When I started, I couldn't run for a full minute either. I thought C25k was going to kill me. Haha Hi, everyone :) I'm Jenn.

This post is so exciting to me! I am also training for my first half marathon in March :) :) I've run off and on for years, but never really stuck with it until March when I started again. I ran over a dozen 5k's in 2014 and started my New Year with a 5k and 4mile breast cancer run, back to back. I still have a long way to…

My knowledge of the technical aspect isn't very great, but what you are saying sounds like what I have been doing. I've done well with pretty much eliminating bread and pasta (and other high starches) from my diet in the past, but I am struggling now that I am very active and need some carbs.[/quote] I just looked through…

^ me too

+1 I am right where you guys are and could use some motivational help.

I hit a brick wall after 50 lbs and took a year off. Restarting was hard. Very. I'm 4.6 lbs from my goal weight now... but it's being stubborn. I just started trying to clean up my eating (a month ago I told someone clean eating sounded awful and asked why they would do that to themselves lol). This is very new to me, but…

Holy cow. Kudos. I am training for my first half marathon.

Agreed about the bmi. And I actually just had to google bmr to know what that is. Haha I just calculated that and did the Harris Benedict equation to see what it said, for the heck of it. According to that I should be eating 2,300 cals a day?! I must have done something wrong. That's so many calories!
-
I do this! A lot of people say that if you aren't losing you are probably eating more than you think... but mine is the opposite. I am eating very little. Even less if I'm trying to push to lose weight. I like your ideas... and after posting about not being able to lose, I've had a bunch of people tell me to weigh my food…

I do have PCOS, and have been told it is why I struggle so much with weight loss. Basically, the doctors said if I could lose weight, it would help with the pcos but the pcos is what is preventing me from losing. I did some research and discovered a low-glycemic diet method is the best bet for my problem, so that's how I…

This is very encouraging. Thank you for sharing. In the past, I've taken a break like you mentioned and it worked well. But I have been scared to this time because it is hard enough for me to get started, even though I know I will feel much better once I do. And being right at the end of my goal, I thought it should be…

Glad to know I am not the only one :) :)

That makes sense. The first 50 came off pretty easily for me. So it seemed like the last few should too. Maybe it's just harder today because I've been resisting the urge to eat pizza for weeks now. Ha.
-
I don't go by the bmi anymore because according to that, I am just shy of obese. In reality, I'm a size 6/8. I'm not looking to get my weight down as low as 130, just want to lose the few lbs more. (I've been that weight and I constantly had people asking if I was sick. I didnt look or feel good.)

Cups and tablespoons. I figured when it comes to an apple, for instance, even if I'm off some on calories, I'm eating so few calories already that surely it wouldn't make a huge difference, yeah? A medium sized jonagold apple is in mfp as 100 cals. My son usually has some of it too and I just log the 100. But even if its…

These past couple of weeks I haven't been eating much because I have been pretty discouraged about not being able to shed the last few. Yesterday I barely hit 600 calories :/
-
I probably should eat more. I'm just scared I will start gaining again if I do :( I have to eat more soon though because I am starting half marathon training Monday.
-
I typically do measure. I haven't had a cheat day in over a month but I log everything. I very rarely eat out but when I do, I stick with my diet plan. Grilled/roasted/steamed veggies and lean, grilled meat or a grilled chicken salad w/vinaigrette or something along those lines. I was stuck at 160 for a couple months and…

I just don't get it. I was stuck at 160 for forever too. Finally broke that barrier and now I'm stuck again. It's frustrating. And I really want some pizza. Feels like I am depriving myself of food I really want and pushing myself to eat healthier and be more active for nothing at times.
