Exercised for 30 minutes non-stop today! For the first time in ten years! (Sorry to anyone who has read this already in another thread - I can't help myself! So excited, have to post everywhere  )

I just managed to exercise non-stop for 30 minutes for the first time in ten years!

Unfortunately, OP, if there were any drinks that would cause weight loss or muscle gain none of us would be here. We would all be at our perfect weight and looking amazing. End of the day, we all need to put in the work to get what we want. Personally, I would love something magic to undo all the harm I've done to myself…

^This Also, watch how many of your exercise calories you are eating back. MFP does tend to over-estimate the burn from exercise, so most people advocate only eating around 50% of them. Good luck
-
LOL - one of the few benefits to starting out very obese (currently 334lbs) is that a 25 minute low impact aerobic session burns (according to my activity tracker) upwards of 400 calories. I know that will come down, but right now it looks impressive on my status updates

I would try to eat closer to your goal. You don't want to force yourself, but at the same time, eating too few calories can be a failure waiting to happen. The less you eat, the harder it is to ensure you are getting adequate nutrition, and you are far more likely to end up binging. How about trying to add some more…

I've lost 29lbs so far since the start of this year and the main thing that has helped has been all the advice on MFP to not demonize food, and to eat what I like, just in moderation. To that end, I always make room at the end of my day for some ice cream and chocolate. I don't feel deprived, and it is much easier to say…

Little bit of oil in a pan, plenty of garlic, thyme, oregano, and basil. Brown the chicken in it add a ton of mushrooms, then some tinned, diced tomato. Yum.

Awww, that's awesome! I've just managed to exercise for 20 minutes non-stop for the first time in years

I had two. First was to log in to MFP every day. So far, so good. Seeing my friends status updates is fantastic motivation. When you log in and see how much weight others have lost, how many calories they've burned, or simply seeing their dedication in logging streaks, it helps to keep you on track. The second was to save…

I log the day before, but of course allow modifications. I have to get meat out of the freezer the night before, so might as well work out what I'd going to do with it. I also just feel more in control, it's easier for me to not go ballistic with a bag of Doritos if I already have snacks etc planned out. Maybe closer to…

Fitting in to a pair of pants I bought months ago but couldn't get done up.
-
Bought a pair of pants just before Christmas. Didn't bother trying them on in the store, came home, and there was no way in hell I was going to get the button done up. Could have driven a truck through that gap. Just tried them on. Button and zip.... no problem  I still have one hell of a long way to go, but it's…

And now, after admitting that, I see that OP is feeling better about things. Still, I'm sure the rest of you could use some entertainment

OK, this is going to sound really stupid, and I give everyone permission to mock the hell out of me, but one of the things I do to keep motivated to cook fresh is to pretend I'm cooking on camera. Like, maybe doing a cooking show for my MFP friends. That way, it doesn't really seem like I HAVE to weigh everything, but I'm…

It took my doctor a couple of years to get me on the right cocktail of meds to get my panic attacks under control. During that time I tried to focus on weight loss but I kept crashing, I just didn't have the mental strength to focus on my body while my mind appeared to be out of control. Now that I know my meds are…

That's my go-to group too

Someone posted this in another thread, and it really illustrates how wildly off you can be with intake if you're not weighing your food. Worth a watch  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjKPIcI51lU

Listen to The Beard. The Beard knows all! ooooooooom (Seriously, that thing is majestic!)
-
I would love to cosplay, but with 200lbs to lose, it's going to take some time before I can pull off my namesake (Jordis The Sword Maiden from Skyrim). Still, something to work towards! Would love to see pics from you guys who have done it.

As far as food is concerned, make sure you are using scales to weigh out servings rather than measuring or eyeballing. You'd be surprised how much you can underestimate what you are eating. Don't use any generic or 'homemade' entries in the database. i.e. use the recipe builder to put in your own recipes so that you know…

I try to make too much for dinner so that I then have leftovers to take for lunch. However, I do keep protein cookies in my desk for when I'm lazy.

Reading through this thread I am so pleased I live in New Zealand, we don't have half of the things you guys are posting, which is a good thing - I'm big enough as it is!
-
I made stuffed bell peppers with onions, garlic, thyme, oregano, basil, lean mince, eggplant, mushrooms, tomatoes, ricotta, and or course topped with some parmesan.
-
Save up some calories for a few days and then enjoy yourself a doughnut!
-
Yes, you're right. I misread OP's post and thought she said there was only one entry.
-
You can always create a database item using the nutritional information on the jar for grams.
-
Sometimes I used crushed garlic that I bought, but I just prefer fresh. I think it's the one slightly food snobbish thing I do

36 and from little old New Zealand! If I was shorter and hairier I could probably pass for a Hobbit  Always looking for new friends, so feel free to add me - I'm on a 50 day logging streak, so pretty much guaranteed to be around for support!
