Excellent work on the weight loss. And the teaching opportunities. Since my blackbelt last November, i have also been

It works quite well, as jj is short range arm and pekiti is a mostly long range art.

Ive been doing the carb cycling for months now. I follow the fit cycle., doing martial arts 3 days week and p90x, x2, everyday. I find loe carb days challenging, but some nuts or protein gets me thru. Experiment and see what works

It will not help lose weight. Calories are calories. If you are exercising, it is a quick way to get protein back into your body, so it can rebuild the muscles. I usually drink one after every workout 5-6 times a week.

Sad to say, but sometimes friends drift apart as time goes on, for all different reasons. Most of my friends enjoy being fit and active, as we are part of the same dojo and some of us do Triathlons together. Maybe search the web for local groups that enjoy the same exercises as you and make new friends. Sometimes people…

Tried these and came out a little dry. Used Rice protein powder, grainy to start with. Maybe I'll try a diferent brand of whey next time.

You can also add stevia to sweeten or take the edge off.

My personal opinion, skip the gym and try P90X. The dumbbells are a perfect tool for P90x and if you can keep yourself motivated at home, this is a better deal than the gym. I am not a paid spokeperson for Beachbody, blah blah blah, I just know it works.

Second the youtube videos. There are hundreds of different videos (Tony Horton, Body Rock, etc) that give short exercise vids for free. Play a bunch together, or repeat if not long enough. Good luck!

Third on free weights. Check garage sales and Craiglist for equipment on the cheap. Buy a little at a time, and build up as you go. Good Luck

Browse youtube. Hundreds of great workout videos there.

Send me a request. I log in daily as well. Would like to have a few more friends. :)

Good for you, trying to lose weight. I'll let somebody with more experience answer in depth, but for all my questions, google is a first step. Did the doctor recommend a nutritionist? Most health plans cover it, esp. if there is a medical reason.

You are still faster than anybody sitting on the couch watching TV. :) Keep it up!!!

I agree weighing yesterday daily can be good, if you can mentally handle it. I would do it daily and fret if it went up significally. Now I do it once a week, though I occasionally take a mid week sneak peek. Feel free to friend me.

For longer times of exercise, watch Netflix, amazon, etc to get your minutes in and binge watching in, :) esp on a treadmill or exercise bike.

In my "uneducated" opinion, you aren't eating enough. Long term, there is NO way you will keep off whatever weight you lose, eating that little. Eat smarter, not less.

I always eat before bed, a reasonable snack, and I've lost 5 lbs over the last 8 weeks. Most people will believe anything an "expert" says, esp one on TV. Youngsters should google Johnny Carson and Toilet paper.

I personally love the beachbody videos.. P90X is my fav. I am now doing a hybrid P90X and Asylum that kicks butt. But I also enjoy jumping around my garage gym like a crazy person. :) Also, if your looking to "unload" that 50lb vest, let me know. I would love one. I have a 20 that I use a lot, esp for Pylometrics.

Insanity will not decrease your fitness level on any level. I would do Insanity until the Spring, and once track starts ease back on Insanity. Nothing is better for running than running.
