I've lost 70lbs so far, walking is my only form of exercise.

But... they're not low calorie. They're the same calorie content as regular M&M's by volume, as they're the exact same except smaller. The only difference is if you're counting by M&M number, which you shouldn't be. ETA: Unless this was a joke post, in which case that flew right past me because you never know.

Exercise calories got me a venti java chip frappucino today. So yeah, I'm obviously on the "eat them back" side of the fence.

You have error bars on your weight graph. That's a beautiful thing.
-
Eating too little will not cause you to not lose weight. You might want to try weighing your food, and be sure you're using accurate entries in the database when you select the foods you eat.

I'm a grad student, working on my PhD in Chemistry. During the semester, I don't really "have time" to exercise, so I get up earlier in the morning to walk for two miles on the days I don't have 8am classes. I have an hour commute each way, take graduate classes, and teach 250 university students. You have to make time, I…

I think I depend on afternoon coffee even more than morning coffee. That 1 - 4pm range, ugh.
-
Meal timing doesn't matter. If you can get in all your calories and adequate nutrition by eating once a day, go for it.

I've lost 70lbs so far using this site. I'd say it works.

I'm losing mine, but I'm actually okay with that. I started at around a D cup, now that I'm 70lbs down I can squeeze into a B. I have another 130lbs to lose, and I might be in negative cup sizes by then. I'm very disproportionate, though. My hips and thighs hoard fat, which is why my collarbones are slightly beginning to…

Nothing's unhealthy about coffee unless you have an adverse reaction to the caffeine or if you load it up with so many calories that you can't meet your calorie goal. I'm definitely a caffeine addict, but I'm staying that way.

I agree that it sounds like a server issue, as mine isn't syncing today. I'm waiting it out and seeing if it starts syncing in a few hours.
-
You obviously can do it, you're just not wanting to. It comes down to having self-restraint.

My last two weeks have been absolutely terrible. I'm under a lot of stress and dealing with a family tragedy, and I've been eating my feelings while still logging to keep my records straight. After looking through everything today, according to my numbers, I'll have gained a half pound at most over the last two weeks. I'm…

That's a safe limit, and more power to you if you want to stay within it, but I didn't see any sources cited on their site. I found this one when I was looking up the LD50: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/j.1552-4604.1967.tb00034.x/abstract ETA: I just saw where they cited their sources. I'm reading though some…

Where are you guys getting your numbers from? Because the LD50 for caffeine (the amount that would be considered lethal for 50% of adults), is 150 to 200mg of caffeine per kg of bodyweight. Which is upwards of 70 cups of coffee for a 70kg adult. Caffeine intoxication is considered ingesting more than 400mg of caffeine at a…

It's your favourite meal of the week. Are you able to give it up forever? No? Then eat it.
-
I only have the Fitbit One, so I can't speak for the other models, but I really love it. I've found it to be completely accurate for me.
-
I don't think that works well if you're at a higher weight. I'm 6'0" and 300lbs, and my TDEE most days is around 3000kcal with exercise, so that would be no deficit, much less the 1000kcal deficit I aim for.
-
You don't have to exercise at all to lose weight. I do it because I like to eat the calories I earn. Also, echoing that your loss will slow down in a few days. You can't sustain a 1lb/day loss, so don't get discouraged when you drop to 2lbs/week.
-
I started with 200lbs to lose, so even after 70lbs lost, I'm still rockin' the morbidly obese title. I never starved myself for the loss, not a single day. In fact, if you go back past this week (a lot of stuff happening and I'm hoping to just stay at maintenance right now, so go back like two weeks ago to when I was…

All that matters is that you stay at the calorie goal MFP gave you. You can eat whatever you want, as long as you log accurately and stay within that goal, and you'll lose weight. If you start a new exercise routine, your weight on the scale may go up because of fluid retention. It'll drop off eventually.
-
I love how everyone is talking about drinking coffee in moderation. I have concentrated espresso shots that I add to my cups of regular coffee. More coffee in my coffee and it's a beautiful thing.
-
You started working out two weeks ago. You're retaining fluid. Give it a few more weeks.
-
It doesn't, you have to make it recalculate manually.
-
Giving up coffee? Haha. Hahaha. hahahahahahaHAHAHA I'm a chemistry grad student. When I defend my dissertation, I'm putting coffee on my acknowledgements list, and that's not even a joke. ETA: As a chemist, I can tell you that caffeine is not bad for you unless you have some type of sensitivity to it. Or if you manage to…

I'm so utterly jealous of you right now. When I get stressed to the breaking point, I eat absolutely everything. Everything.
-
Every ounce I gain goes straight to my hips, and I swear it's the last place I lose. I lose from my face/shoulder area first.
-
I swear every interesting conversation on these forums happens while I'm teaching.

If your calorie expenditure for a day is 3,000kcal, you should be eating 2,000kcal that day. You shouldn't be losing more than 2lbs/week at your weight, or you'll end up losing even more muscle than what comes with a safe rate of weight loss.
