Keeping it simple.... Just heavy resistance training: Push Day Low Body & Abs Day Pull Day Rest Day... then repeat. No cardio and just careful diet. I am sure it's not the best but works for my body type, age and schedule.

Send some rain to TX. We have none and it has been over 105 for several weeks now. Grrrr

Just as important as any other on this thread. After all we all have some sort of motivation.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Yes, Yes

Traveling for work but still found a gym to grind it out in at 4:30 am. Trying to not let excuses get in the way of my personal progress. After all it comes down to how bad we want it. Have a rockin day.

Work on putting myself first (at least on occasion)

You are spot on. Keep rocking it. 🤘

🤘🤘. There will always be haters. All shapes and sizes are beautiful. I feel sorry for people that have to tear others down to feel good about themselves.

I want to prove that you can be in the best shape of your life at 50. Feels kind of nice to be more defined and have lower BF (7.5%) than most of the 20's and 30's at the gym. I hope this will continue for another 10-20 years. For me it's just knowing i did a total transformation in my late 40's. Hope that will motivate a…

Feel free to add me. Just lost a great friend to cancer

Agree with steveko89. Very had to keep Body Fat low and bulk. I have worked on it for years and like was mentioned you have to be dialed in on your macros and total calories. For me based on my BF%, age, and weightlifting schedule I keep to 1500 total calories on rest days with the ratio of 45 pro, 35 carb and 25 fat. On…

Very nice. Use this success to help motivate you more until you become totally addicted. Then it becomes a lifestyle and something you can function without. You look amazing. 🤘

Happy Birthday. Turned 50 this year and feel better than ever. Enjoy your day!

Thanks. Was a challenging year for me even though we had never actually met in person. We Talked about every day and she was one of the biggest reasons that I have been successful in this journey. Her legacy lives on in her children and husband. I know she is pumping some weights in heaven. Ha ha

Are you kidding me??? Have I found a home among this awesome age demographic? Long time MFP member but just started getting involved in the MFP community. My health journey has been very rewarding and I love the way I feel. Still grinding every day to improve. My 4 year Accountability Partner passed away about 5 months ago…

I would leave it. Great to look back over the years and see how you have progressed.

With you 100%

You got brother! Love the challenge of progressing when others our age are decreasing. I am in the best shape of my life and know I have much more to give.

I think coaches are good for some people but for me I tend to stick with things that I figure out and earn on my own. Part of the reason I keep pushing myself is because it's Hard. It's a challenge and that drives me. The more I learn and the better I become just fuels my desire to get better and better. I respect anyone…

Just came across this post and does this ever capture my struggles. 5 years ago if I thought I would be in this shape at 50 I would have been pleased (coming from the poor shape I was in) but now at 50 I feel like it could be so much better. The more progress I make the more dissatisfied I become. I know this is not…

Yes yes yes, the do help especially after the delicious BBQ I had on the 4th Grrrr. Back to the plan today.

I think most of us have been there. I know for me it was very frustrating and it was hard to stay motivated. Everyone and every body makeup is different so what worked of one may not work for you. For me it was all about switching things up and getting my body and metabolism guessing. Intermittent fast helped a bit,…

Please add me. Been down this road a ways now and I know the value of an accountability partner. I would not have gotten this far without my support team. I like to be challenged and to challenge others.

Lost 40 pounds of fat, put back on 20 pounds of muscle and just dipped below 10% body fat. It is a daily challenge but now you am so addicted to it. Don't post much but get motivated by you all.
-
Yes. I had an accountability partner, never met, different gender, honest and supportive. We both made great progress. Sometimes you need a distant 3rd party to support, commiserate, challenge and even be critical. They end up being really unique and special friends.

Have you ever considered an accountability partner? They can be amazing if you get the right one.
