Jello w cool whip sugar free. The jello is only 10 calories and a dollop of cool whip is only 20 calories. Yum

Protein shakes definitely keep me fuller for much longer. I use casein protein powder. Casein is a slow digesting protein, thus keeping you fuller longer. I mix mine with almond milk, so a cup of almond milk and scoop of powder is only 180 calories. I always use a blender with Ice to give it a smoothie texture.

I drink a protein shake with casein in it. Casein is a slow digesting protein so it keeps you full longer. One scoop is 120 calories and I mix it with 1 cup of almond milk. So 180 all in. If you can I always mix in a blender with ice to make it cold and thick

Using mfp religiously is what worked. During the week I have the same breakfast and lunch. Dinners are small and I snack on filling but low calorie veggies

I'm also starting and yes...I am that out of shape. If you can't finish day one then stay on day one till you can finish it. Good luck

We are pretty similar in frame and weight. I am 5'8" and started at 196 lbs in September. I'm currently 168 lbs with a final goal of around 155 lbs. I'm doing it mostly with diet. What is your daily calorie intake goal?
-
Fantastic. 151 lbs is my goal. I keep lowering it. How tall are you by the way...wanted to put the weight in perspective to your height.
-
So great. How many calories are you eating now to maintain?
-
There is a mis understanding about that 3500 calorie formula that can be hurtful to weight loss. Check out this video (not an ad) that explains the math of weight loss https://youtube.com/watch?v=GGP3NbP7O2w

P.S if you get one of the fitness trackers that combine use with a heart monitor, it will enter the calories for you

Lifting is definitely for calorie burning. You burn more with heavy lifting than cardio any day. both are great
-
Looks right to me. The heavier you are, the more calories you burn in your BMR ( It takes more energy to move a larger frame than smaller one). So as long as you are in a calorie deficit, which is what the TDEE will help you figure out, you will lose weight. As you lose weight and get smaller, you will have to either eat a…

Nice!! You are doing it the right way with a solid long term goal and not a quick fix. Congratulations
-
Not enough background to comment very effectively, but it seems like its more than just the lunch you are having issues with. 700 calories per day is way too low unless you are doing some medical based diet which is usually for obese patients. Where did you come up with that calorie goal?
-
Holy Cow! What an amazing transformation. Seriously, you have been through the ringer and what you have accomplished is nothing short of amazing. What an inspiration.

The calorie goal is what MFP says prior to workout. Ill lower my weekly weight loss goal for now and get some calories in there. Thanks
-
First, I am not super hungry ever. I really snack on things that have little caloric value but fill me up like raw green beans for example. On the other hand, I know that I could eat more calories if I work out, but....i am afraid if I eat to much, I still wont lose cause I wont burn enough in the gym.

I am 5'8". Not super short, but not getting drafted for the NBA either
-
Thanks everyone. I am losing by eating less calories. My caloric goal according to mfp is now 1270 and I should hit the goal. I agree with most of you that I am probably eating to few calories if I work out, but I feel pretty good at the caloric goal I am now. I will definitely start eating more calories when I start…

I know..i weigh myself every day, even though I should not. I just can't help it. Frankly, if i am in the bathroom, I am gonna step on the scale! It's a bad habit, but i dont fret when the scale goes up. I know im on the right path and if you can keep that in mind don't worry.
-
Wow, thanks for the fast replies and the help. Ill adjust my goal to 1 pound per week.

While this app is amazing, perhaps go see a nutritionist who can help you with getting over the hurdle you have reached. I do know that weight loss will come in plateaus, so everyone hits that proverbial wall. You have to plow through it.

Hi. I have lived in New York my whole life, currently living in Williamsburg Brooklyn. You will need to have at least 250 per day. Now for some advice. Take the subway everywhere. It is by far the fastest way to get around and the cheapest. Buy a 1 week unlimited pass and you will save big if you take it more than 2x per…

Fantastic! Looking good

Wow! You should be really proud of this accomplishment. You really put your mind to it and look what you did! Fantastic :)

I never account for calorie burn against my daily intake. I know i "could", but I just don't do it. My feeling is, I would be eating too much. My friend who is a weight loss doctor never tells his patients to count exercise against his prescribed calorie goals and I am of the mind to agree with that. It makes me feel…

Great advice and I've been doing this with great success so far. I've lost about 20 lbs in 10 weeks with no exercise. (I'm starting to lift this week) I also put in a buffer of about 10 % to account for inaccurate weighing.
-
Awesome!! Congratulations. Keep at it, you are looking great

The problem with adding a banana to the shake to make it taste better, is that a banana is about 110 calories. So that 160 calorie shake is now 260 calories. I am not knocking the concept of this shake, but adding ingredients always adds calories.

Fantastic!!! Nice and steady is the way to go. You are looking awesome
