I fully agree with everyone else about MFP not being the place for this thread as most people will never need to run UD2.0. I have personally run 2 cycle of it with great resultst. HOWEVER...................... you have obviously not read the book because Lyle specifically states that you should be sub 15% to undertake the…

Eat less
-
Only because it contains calories. You could lose weight taking it if you were in a deficit at the end of the day.
-
25lbs in 11 months is fairly conservative and by no definition a dirty bulk (unless it was 99% fat).
-
Get a scale and weigh the rice uncooked for more accuracy.

Food.

Managed to maintain my weight during my 2 week diet break over Xmas and now back in a deficit. 6 weeks with a goal of 10lbs to lose and then a week diet break. Is it weird that it feels good to be back in a deficit? Or am I mad from carb deprivation??

There are conditions and protocols that use fasted cardio to increase fat metabolism however they are pointless for 99% of the general population. Have a read of Lyle McDonalds, stubborn fat protocols.

1) Cycle 1000km in 2018 2) Diet down to 90kg (should put me at competition leaness) 3) Complete a 100km walk 4) See where I have veins (linked to No.2)
-
If you’re going to do it once, it’s not a concern. If you want to fast regularly, I would reassess your plans.
-
Eat more protein, hit maintenance calories and use a progressive lifting programme
-
Don’t bulk when 15% or over. You’ll get fat (ter) and your body is not in an optimal state to gain muscle
-
Nah, I’m good bro. I only do intense yoga to tone my muscles.
-
I'm the same weight as you and have been lifting for 6+ years, have 190lbs of lean mass and wouldn't consider myself lean yet. Maybe take a diet break and then get back to losing fat. Ultimately though, you will probably require surgery to remove the excess skin.
-
MINIMUM of 1g/lb of lean mass, therefore your 150g would be ok. Focus on carbs when bulking and keeping fats relatively low.
-
Terrible workout and a fake profile pic. Brilliant
-
Great progress. Being a realist though you won’t gain muscle whilst losing fat. Keep up the good work!
-
Complete rubbish and not answering the question. OP - Yes you can cycle carbs and anecdotally this will increase insulin sensitivity. I am in a large deficit and have low carbs on rest days and time all my carbs pre/post workout to ensure they are used effectively. I see no reason why this wouldn't work when bulking…
-
You're probably not.
-
You "try" to "eat well" and do a minimal amount of running a week. This is why you're not making any progress.
-
Increase calorie expenditure
-
You are in a deficit and the above is bro-science. An excess of calories causes body fat, not sugar or fats.
-
For someone so well respected and knowledgeable that is a very short sighted and non-factual statement.
-
Sounds like a PSMF and a great way to create a huge calorie deficit. For bulking though, no, terrible idea.
-
I think you are inadvertently agreeing with what I said. You didn't gain muscle but you got stronger and maybe leaner (which will come from recomposition effects).
-
Interested why you thought the pre-workout was a waste of money? The main ingredient is usually caffeine which has proven benefits.
-
In addition to this. 300g of protein is extremely high for someone even if they are heavy, lean and on anabolics.
-
Be wary of elbow tendinitis from high rep push ups everyday. Will you make some strength/endurance/Muscle progress? Maybe. Are you missing 80% of muscle groups. Yes
-
This is completely rubbish. A ketogenic diet is any diet which puts the body into ketosis. There is no specified time frame for this. You are obviously not aware of CKD or TKD diets.
-
There are studies which can “show” most things.
