my best tools are mfp, my food scale, and my fitbit. for me, i have to know how much i am taking in and how much i am burning off; everything else is just gravy...

on sundays i tend to chop salad veggies, cook a meat, roast veggies, and cook a grain or two in my rice cooker. then i store them in ziplocks in the fridge. so when i come home from work, i pick and choose what i want, add various seasonings and viola, dinner is ready in less than 20. if i make a casserole or a skillet…

my go-tos seem to be granny smith apples and bananas for fruits and brussels sprouts and butternut squash for veg...

yeah, i'd say i lost the majority of my poundage in the kitchen, not in the gym. it wasn't until i lost some weight that i was ready to start adding in some exercise. works for me.

yes! our bodies get used to what we put into them. so if you cut down the amount, you should find that eventually you will be able to do without. i used to love a little bit of coffee with my cream and sugar; now i don't even think i have sugar in the house... and my coffee and tea are just as satisfying

hi all! i think slow and steady is so great! you are really able to learn what works best for you! 5'6"; 42 yo; desk job; sw: 185ish; cw: 129; just started maintenance. i love to cook (and eat) and don't really like to exercise, but my fitbit tells me i usually go 12-15k or so steps a day and i try to zumba a couple times…

yes, i have lost 4 or so pounds in the month or so i have been on maintenance. eh, I'm not so good at this, lol... but I'm still working on it!

one 14-oz keurig cup with 2 tablespoons califia farms creamer (30 cals) in the morning with breakfast. occasionally a coffee shop treat during the day.

cherry garcia fro-yo sandwiched between two cinnamon graham crackers

tonight's dinner was roasted turkey breast, broiled veggie kabobs, and french fries with a mustard garlic onion jam; ice cream sandwich for dessert.

i guess it depends how much under calories? and what is your daily calorie intake? and are you exercising and reducing that number even further? your body needs fuel and while you'd think drastically cutting cals should net you faster weight loss, it really doesn't work that way.

you have to figure out how many calories you should be eating to lose. then you need to know how many calories you ARE eating and how many calories you are burning. for this i use mfp and fitbit. after that it's a cakewalk. eat less, move more. it really is that simple. i eat normal food (serving size matters), and have a…

totally an OBLIBER. which explains why i will go to zumba with friends but can't seem to drag myself to the gym on my own, even with the judicious use of self-threats or the promise of rewards...

hi everybody! I'm 42 (what?!) and recently lost over 55 pounds. if i can do it, ANYONE can! feel free to add me! good luck on your journey!

my daily routine is pretty set. so when i am extraordinarily hungry, you can bet your great aunt bippy hormones are the reason why. because i am now tracking and being pretty mindful of what is going on with my body, i am more conscious of these urges. so when they happen, i tend to make wiser food decisions when i stuff…

sigh. no, i do not look good nekkid. i have jiggly and wobbly bits. i have been overweight most of my 42 years and have just now reached size 4-6, mostly by diet since i don't really like to exercise. i don't think cellulite goes away, ever. i do think that building muscle helps firm things up, which makes you look better.…

i guess if you think it's obsessive then don't weigh in daily; find what works for you. i weigh in once a week; some every other week; others monthly; it's a personal choice...

I have cookies and ice cream just about every night; usually 1/4 cup ice cream sandwiched between two graham crackers. I make up batches on the weekends; helps me keep the portions workable.

i am 5'6; i am maintaining at 130ish now, but started out at 185ish and i try to eat around 1550 cals a day. i am always looking for new friends and i think we all have something to share and learn.

soo, funny story. i went to the movies the other night and dinner after with friends. i ordered bbq chicken breast and grilled veg and when it came i was the first to admit it wasnt very sexy and we all laughed because around the table there was mac n cheese and fries and ribs...BUT...my food was delish and i enjoyed it. i…

breakfast: eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes, and 'sausage'; coffee snack: granny smith apple and cheddar cheese lunch: sandwich - chicken breast, cheese, mustard; cukes dinner: pork chop, plantains, black beans with green chilis and avocado, brussels sprouts dessert: ice cream sandwich made with cinnamon graham crackers and…

i chose a clothing size that i felt i would be comfortable with and aimed for that.

i love grilled cheese and always add things to them, so that one looks good. the rest, not so much, sorry.

i look at a few restaurant options and choose one. it won't be exact, but it is close enough for me.
-
that suit is adorable! you rawk it!

i always track. if i eat it i own it. just because i don't track it, doesn't mean it didn't happen... if i know an overage is likely to happen, i will bank a few cals and exercise so that it doesn't have a negative impact on my week.
