Electrolytes?

Thanks for the follow-up. As long as your doctor is aware and is comfortable with the drug interaction. Just wanted to be sure.

I don't eat gluten but I do have lactose. So, I eat homemade yogurt with nuts. Protein shake after working out.
-
Maybe not for the OP. Then again, I don't know her stats. But 1200 calories sustains me just fine. Maybe you're younger than I am with more muscle mass. (Although the '77 in your username suggests you're not *much* younger than me.) But I'm short & overweight and over 40 and my BMR is only ~1300. 1600 calories is…

Are both meds prescribed by the same doctor? I'm not a doctor but there is a risk of seizures with both medications and it's dangerous to take them together. Is it possible that your PCP and psychiatrist do not know what the other is prescribing?

It looks like you're doing a great job logging everything you eat... but, you've got some *really* bad entries. 3oz of chicken breast is approx. 126 calories, so 15oz would be 629. So, you're way underestimating the amount of calories you're eating.
-
Whatever. I don't exactly think some random stranger on MFP is going to change how they eat because of what I say. But the OP is just starting out on a ketogenic diet. And what I described is actually how keto works. Stay under 25g net carbs, hit your protein goal, eat fat to satiety. (Keeping within your target calories.)…

You don't need them. Stay under 25g net carbs, hit your protein target. Your fat grams is not a target, it's a limit. There is no need to randomly add fat to your diet if you're not hungry or if you can't limit yourself to just one.

I "tried and tried" and couldn't lose weight. Two weeks ago, got me a food scale and pre-logged and measured and logged my food. Now, I'm losing weight like it's my job. 42F

Please don't kick kittens. ;-)
-
If this isn't a joke, I can't even with this thread.
-
Nope! She confirmed that she mixes ground peanuts with water and mustard. Hey, if she likes it! :-)
-
I'd bet my weight in dollars that, while the low-carb dieters were not calorie restricted by the study, they *naturally* calorie restricted due to feelings of satiety, and thus lost more weight and fat. Anyway, we digress. I don't think this has anything to do with the OP's problem.
-
Yep. LCHF keto'er here. Lower carbs and higher fat help me feel satiated, so I can stick to my calorie deficit. But it's still CICO. Low carb is not magic. Calories still matter. This is why people think low-carbers are crazy.
-
Yes, it is an excuse. Any tips? Pre-log and track your food. Eat at a deficit.
-
I had never heard of such a thing, which is why I asked. I do like honey mustard roasted nuts, so I guess it's not that weird.
-
This is too much to read. I stopped half way but I think your problem is electrolytes. If the Anti-Candida diet is very low carb/low sugar, you need to supplement with salt and potassium and magnesium Put 1/4 tsp of Morton's Lite Salt into your water bottle; drink 4-6x a day. Take some form of chelated magnesium at night.…

I gave you some advice. Take it or don't. But you may want to loosen up if you're posting on a public message board. P.S. I still don't know what a mustard peanut drink is. Anyone?
-
That's 556 calories. Edit: Saw your clarifying post above. Carry on!
-
You're logging but are you *measuring*? Do you weight your food on a food scale? Make sure you're picking accurate entries from the MFP database? If you open up your diary and give a little more information, we can probably give you a little more help...
-
WTF is a mustard peanut drink?
-
Pretty sure saying, "I wouldn't worry about it" is in no way telling you what you should or shouldn't do. And, by the way, you posted on a public message board. Hey, have a nice day!
-
I wish you success. It's a lot to deal with.
-
I'm sorry to hear about your medical problems and how they affected your weight. Glad you're figuring things out. :-) But, Adipex is just an appetite suppressant. It doesn't reduce body fat. You still have to eat less (or move more) to lose body fat. So, while I certainly don't judge you for taking the pills, I question…

Some great suggestions from other posters about cleaning up & staying dry. Just want to say hang in there and take one day at a time. Also, getting some exercise is good for your heart, but if it's causing you a lot of trouble (e.g. irritating your skin condition), you may want to focus more heavily on your diet/calorie…

Wow, you're pleasant.

I meant general "you" not you specifically, which I'm pretty sure you knew. If you aren't in nutritional ketosis at >100g of protein and I am, then it *is* a fact that one can remain in nutritional ketosis at >100g of protein. Not going to continue to argue this point, as I have no intention of defending ketosis in court.
-
Of course. Because Dr. Peter Attia is the only doctor or researcher who knows anything about nutritional ketosis. It is a fact that one can consume >100g of protein and remain in nutritional ketosis. Just sayin'.

My calves are big when I'm obese, overweight, and at a healthy weight. They have always been this way. They're muscular. When I was in college, a friend told me he wanted to "breed football players" with me -- because he was 6'4" with scrawny legs and I am 5'4" with strong-*kitten* legs. ;-) That said, while still large,…

It's almost impossible to eat enough protein to be knocked out of ketosis if you're eating at a deficit. People can maintain muscle while in a deficit eating *a lot* of protein. Keto is not such a complicated thing. Eat <25g of net carbs, hit your protein macro, eat fat to satiety. If you go over your protein goal, the…
