I use a Bluetooth headset and love it. Look for Iansean Muset1 or Muset1c on Amazon. I have both and they both work well for under $60. I keep my phone in my pocket, so that doesn't help with the other half of your issue.

Whey protein is not a requirement for weight training. Like everyone else said, it is a supplement. Try to eat as much "real" protein as you can and fill in the rest of your target with the supplement. Depending on what you are trying to do (building muscle, weight loss, toning, etc) you may not need it at all.

Not counting all week. I need to see how well I can do on my own and figure no better time than a week of travel / holiday.

There is a MFP Garmin Users group on Garmin Connect, but I can't find one here. Why is there no search feature in Groups? Am I missing something?
-
Endomondo. Never had an issue with it and links to MFP.

You have have plenty of time, as others have said. I will add... start NOW. I plan to run my first half next spring/summer, too. Good luck! You can do this.

Not only is backsliding OK, it is expected to a certain extent. None of us are perfect. Don't worry about yesterday... you can't change it. Just make good choices today.
-
Good luck! You CAN do this.
-
Start right now.... :) Keep in mind yesterday no longer matters and tomorrow is not guaranteed.

And raw snow peas in the pod.... :)

Bananas dipped in Chobani coconut yogurt... sliced apple drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon... sliced cucumber splashed with balsamic vinegar (tastes like pickles without all the sodium).

The recipe builder is awesome. My wife now keeps the package of what she puts into a recipe so I can just scan the ingredients. Figuring out the portions can be a bit tricky though.

Great progress!

I try for everything every day. Keeps me honest and motivated...

Keep at it and log EVERYTHING. Even if you choose to go over, at least you will know by how much. It takes a while, but will be worth it if you stick with it!

See HERE and HERE. You are doing it wrong, but those resources should help you.

Portions... portions... portions... Log EVERYTHING. You may begin to see that you have room for "treats" more often than you think. Also, don't try to be perfect, just try to stay consistent in keeping track. You can do this, but it will take work.

The formula should be somewhat close to: 1 hour of vigorous cardio / 30 = Total Calories :p
-
Great motivator. You don't have to break the land speed record, you just have to finish what you started. Crossing the finish line for the first time is almost surreal.

They will get over it.

I have A LOT of questions...

Those are legitimate activities for burning a large number of calories. Calories burned has to do with both the body composition of the person doing the work and INTENSITY. It really isn't fair to dismiss it unless you have the facts related to the workout.

Confidence and attitude go a lot further than measurements in my opinion.

Roxborough State Park is my favorite. Never seen anything like it. Hanging Lake used to be great too, but now there are WAY too many people.

For the record, my syncing issues were only with the Vivosmart, not all Garmin products. I have an Forerunner 220 that works absolutely flawlessly. ;-) The Forerunner 15 is a great idea and I often wish I would have gone that route rather than the FR-220.

I have had the Fitbit Zip, Fitbit One, and Fitbit Force. I recently had the Garmin Vivosmart. Both have advantages, but the Fitbit community is far more developed and supportive. Garmin has better features on the hardware, but has far more issues syncing with other apps. If your goal is to integrate with MFP I would say…
