It sounds overly simple to say I'm not buying it again, but for me that's why it works. It's a simple rule to keep. When you go to the supermarket, stick to your grocery list and don't buy anything extra.

For me...I just told myself I'm not buying it again. And I keep to that.

I've maintained my weight through two things...logging once a week, and eating mostly the same things everyday. Changing it up weekly. The reason I log only once a week, is because I mostly eat the same stuff. That way I don't get paranoid, and I still know I'm doing good without having to log. Most low calorie diets are…

I eat dinner at 6pm. For no particular reason. I'm just hungry at that time. But your body doesn't stop working while you sleep. If it did, it means you're dead. I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. That tells me that my liver is still working in my sleep. If my liver is still working, why wouldn't my…

I don't do diets anymore. Their too boring. I'd much rather eat everything in moderation. Working so far. Have kept 46lb off for 2.5 years.
-
...alrighty then....
-
Whatever works for you. :) like I said I know there is good variety to a clean diet, but for some reason that "boring" just always pops up in my mind when I hear it Lol. I don't eat clean really, I'm just more aware of my macros. I still eat processed food once or twice a week. Because I need their sodium and fat. (It…

You know what something about the word clean eating and restrictive diet just screams BORING to me. I hate being bored with food. That's why I always failed with diets in the past. They usually make you eat the same stuff over and over. I mean, I know there's good variation to a "clean" diet, but I don't know. My mind…

Brush your teeth after your meal. Go to bed earlier. Occupy your mind with something stimulating (Tv doesn't count) after dinner. Basically just try to replace the bad habit with a better one.

I like my smile. I have beautiful hands. And I love my natural calves. They make my legs look shapely.

Yum, squash...

Haha. My sister said the same to me. But I do what I call "lazy cooking". I throw the whole lot in a big pan and throw it in the oven and forget about it until it's cooked. Except the eggs. I boil those all at once. So its not really that much work. ;)
-
Mm. I doubt this counts. But I finished my first week of no sweets. But I'm adding it back in after 21 days, after I've broken the bad habit of eating so much at once. So I'm by no means giving it up forever.

I make my breakfast and dinners for the week on Sunday evening. This week for breakfast is eggs and bacon. For dinner its roasted lamb chops and cheesy veggies. I love prepping ahead. Makes for super easy logging.

Sugar is not addictive. Period.

Is his trainer a female? Sounds like he's got a crush..

Actually I didn't suggest that. The op's friend did. But I did word my response wrong so I'm sorry for that. What I meant was what I stated above. It can help create a caloric deficit, which burns fat.
-
That's true. But it does burn calories. Obviously if you fill up the gap with food you will maintain weight. But it still burns calories. I create half my deficit through cardio and the other half through diet. If I ate a bit much, but still did cardio, I would still lose, just not as much. It depends really. Like I said…
-
Exactly he's right. Cardio keeps the fat off by burning calories. But it doesn't tear muscle. That's what lifting does. Your muscles will recover from being overworked, which is why you can increase strength while in deficit. But you won't be able to add new muscle while in deficit. Adding muscle is like a growing child.…

Okay you know maybe don't tell him "I told you so". My friends tend to be very spiteful with me sometimes so I tend to return the favor and that usually throws them off their throne which is why I do that. But yeah unfortunately there's still nothing else you can do. Be supportive if he later comes to apologise for…

**does evil snicker** :innocent:

If I were you, and this is just because it's me, I would let him fall in the hole. When he comes to complain I'd just tell him "I told you so." If he won't listen to you there's really not much else you can do about it. Except pin him down and shovel food down his throat.

I'm pretty sure every single human's weight fluctuates through the day, and weeks. Especially on a Monday, after a few Saturday beers and that nice Sunday roast dinner you had. I would suggest weighing once a week, at the same time and under the same conditions (naked, after toilet, before eat).
-
As far as I know you can't gain while in deficit. You can't build something out of nothing. He can probably gain strength, but muscle? Not so much. If he gained it's probably his muscles holding back water because of exercise increase or something.

Just generally more cooked food. Pre-mfp I usually ate sugary cereal for breakfast, and a sandwhich with jam for dinner with a glass of milk. Now for breakfast it's something more substantial like bacon and eggs, bran cereal and a fruit, oatmeal, cottage cheese mixed with yogurt ect. For dinner its some type of protein…
-
My deficit is 250 calories a day and first priority macro wise is to always hit protein. I'll still do the bodyweight exercises though. Even if I don't like it.
-
I weigh everything...once a week. Because I eat the same breakfast and dinner weekly, weighing the recipe ingredients once is sufficient. With lunches I also rarely weigh because I've been logging 2.5years and maintained my previous weight that long. So I'm good with eyeballing lunch. Snacks are not a problem. Because I…

In my experience, people turn to food when they are lacking something else in their lives and they let food fill the gap. I'm alone at home most of the time and then I eat mindlessly. However around other people, I am in much better control of my eating. That led me to believe that socialization is what I'm missing in my…

I wouldn't lose from my jaw...I eat too much so I work it daily :yum:

Nah, I have a good sense of humor and I don't take life too seriously.
