Been maintaining for a year. I still track my calories in and try to do it honestly, no matter what. I'd love to do 10,000 steps a day but can't get it in most days but do make sure I don't do fewer than 5,000 steps.

Set MFP up to lose 16lb @ 1lb a week. Lost the 16lb in about 12 weeks.

I am 66 and 5'9". In my 20s I weighed 135lb. Over the years I have gained and lost weight a number of times. With MFP I started out at 176 and decided to set a realistic goal of 160lb. When I hit 160 I went directly into maintenance but continued to lose. When I hit 151lb I thought I looked too gaunt so I added some extra…

I'm not a big drinker but when I want it I just make sure it fits my calorie budget for the day. I've been maintaining go about a year.

I'm 66, 5'9" and, after losing 23.5 lb, have been maintaining at 153.5-155lb on 1900-2100 cal/day less exercise, for a year. I walk 5000-10000 steps/day (average around 7,000/day in any given week). I do 45 minutes is Aqua fit, twice a week and an hour long gentle fit exercise class once a week. I weigh about 20lb more…

Congratulations! Keep tracking, weigh regularly and choose a 3-5 lb range at which you want to maintain. Oh and enjoy your amazing accomplishment.

In maintenance for a year and still track every day. I don't mind doing it. I pre-track every morning, for the day, which really helps.

You are not alone. I'm 66, have mid BMI, have slim limbs, have had no kids and still have a tummy. I look in the mirror and see my Mother's shape. I suspect that part of it is genetic and I'm not likely going to be able to change it.

Congratulations on recognizing what is important. It looks like you are on the right track and will be looking fit and healthy before you know it.

A year ago yesterday, I reached my goal weight. I'm 5' 9", age 65 and went from 176lb to 160lb on 1480 cal/day. I slowly dropped another 5lb while eating 1800 - 2200 cal/day and finally levelled off. I've been maintaining at 153-155 and couldn't be happier with my MFP results.
-
Set MFP to loose 16lb @ 1lb per week. MFP gave me 1480 calories per day. Lost my 16lb between mid September and December 1st last year. I did not program to slow down my Weight loss as I got closer to goal. When I hit my goal on December 1st, MFP upped my calories to 1880. I continued to lose for a few weeks and MFP upped…

If you are not eating much red meat you may be low in B12 which will also make you feel fatigued.

I log as accurately as possible. I will have been logging for 1 year on Monday and have been maintaining within a range of 2 lb. up or down since last December. I do meal plan so if I'm not eating out I try to pre-log in the morning so I know if I have any wiggle room. MFP and logging has really helped me with portion…

Even when I know that what I'm eating will put me over my calorie goal for the day I log it because I know that I might be able to fool MFP but I won't be able to fool my body so I might as well own up.

I've been in maintenance since March. The biggest thing that MFP helped me get on top of was portion control. Throughout my weight loss phase, I ate everything I wanted to but adjusted my portions so they would fit into my calorie goals. I've done the same with maintenance but with 620 more calories a day that I can…

I generally find that as long as I eat enough calories during the day, I don't feel a need to snack at night

5'9" and maintaining at 153 - 155, since December 1st. Goal was to go from 176 to 160 but dropped a bit extra before my weight stabilized.

Has happened, here, too. My goal was 160. I reached that on December 1st. This morning I was down to 151.5. I'm eating 1900-2200 cal a day but then my calories burned comes off of that. I try to add more calories but I don't want to eat junk. I'm eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day so am not sure how to find more time to…

Congratulations to you, both! Let the maintenance journey begin.

Glad you had the fun of trying new foods without stressing about it. During my weight loss and maintenance journey, I've found that portion control has been my biggest lesson, whether that is at home, eating out or on vacation. As I've built confidence in managing my portions, I've found that I am able to eat whatever I…

Trying different food and drink while on vacation is all part of the experience. It is a shame to spoil that part of the experience by worrying about everything we put in our mouths. I am convinced that most of the weight I put on while on vacation is due to increased intake of sodium. We make most of our meals, from…
