It doesn't sound silly at all. You'll get there!

I've tried a million different way of eating -- I went raw for a while; I've tried eating low fat vegan; I've done paleo. And no, I never lost my taste for cheese, bacon, chocolate, pizza or the less nutritious food items that I love. What finally worked for me was doing the things others have mentioned in their replies to…

This makes me so mad that those guys were such jerks putting you down rather than complimenting your efforts. I don't understand why anyone would want to make another person feel bad for getting healthy. Good for you for ignoring them!

For me it was ending up in the ER last October with a horrible pain in my back. I thought it was appendicitis only to learn I was experiencing the pain of a kidney stone. Research revealed that being overweight can contribute to kidney stones. Never wanting to experience another again made me finally serious about weight…

In the 80's my mother had a piece of paper hanging on the fridge with a diet. I forget the name, but it involved hotdogs and vanilla ice-cream. I think it promised a 5 or 10 pound loss in 10 days.

Since I'm trying to make this a lifestyle change, there are going to be times when I eat above my calorie allowance. Birthdays, holidays, special occasions. This allows me to go off plan for a meal (I still log) and not feel like bad about it. This means after I go off plan, I get right back on track. I don't have these…

Love the skirt. You look stunning in it!

What a great attitude you have! I so enjoyed reading your posting this morning. Thanks for sharing and contributing to kicking off my morning with a smile.

6.5 lbs until I am just overweight. I can't wait to put obesity behind me.
-
Awww. I hope you get to that stage because if I saw you, I'd smile because I'd think how happy you looked hanging out with your dog.
-
Congratulations! I love the pic of you at the race -- you look happy and healthy!
-
Thanks for posting. I loved reading about your success!
-
Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself for your hard work.

Recording what I'm eating usually is fine. What I hate is when I go out to eat and I'm whipping out my cell phone to record each item so I don't forget anything. That's when I feel a little rude and obsessive, but it is a great tool in holding yourself accountable.

This looks really good. I think I may be trying this soon.

Breakfast salad - a fried egg and 1 or 2 pieces of bacon over a huge batch of greens, topped with maple balsamic vinegar. The balsamic mixes with the runny egg and creates the best dressing.

You look terrific! Thanks for sharing.

You look fantastic! Thanks for posting!

My next goal is to hit the 25 lb loss. I'm 1.5 lbs away, but heading out of town this weekend, so this may not happen until the end of next week sometime. My next mini goal after that is to lose 7 more lbs to move from obese to overweight.

Thanks for posting this! I'm going through something similar right now -- I'm nowhere close to goal (I've lost 20 lbs out of 60), and my doc was super pleased with me for that. Blood pressure and pulse really improved. However, LDL is now high. It's frustrating because I'm eating better but I now feel like I'm less healthy…

I started in November at 185 and made it last week to 163.5 (I'm 5'). I think I want to get to 125 eventually, but I'll adjust that target if needed when I get closer. It's been incredibly slow, but I'm proud of myself and have kept up my efforts long past any previous attempt. I'm not killing myself eating food I don't…

It makes me mad what the sales lady said. She totally discounted your hard work to drop 40 lbs. I'm glad you have encouraging friends, though. I really don't understand people who aren't happy for others' successes.

Wow! Very well done! I want my arms to look as toned as yours.

I think it depends how you use it. When I first got my fitbit charge, I wore it just to get an idea of how many steps I took daily (it was about 6000). Then I got bored with it and only wore it occasionally. In November 2015 when I decided that I needed to lose weight, I set a goal for myself of getting 10,000 steps each…

I'm 5 feet and it wasn't until I hit 17 or 18 lbs that people commented. A few days ago, someone asked me why I was in such a good mood and I told them it was because I'd hit the 20 weight loss mark that morning. After that, they said that they'd noticed and I looked great, but that they didn't want to comment until I said…

You should be very proud of yourself. Well done!

You look terrific! Younger too.

The fact that I've been at this for 6 months which is the longest I've ever stuck to any eating/exercise plan keeps me going. This feels like it could turn into a lifestyle change instead of a temporary plan.

You should be proud of yourself! 25 lbs takes hard work and commitment. Way to go!
