Hi there! I'm 5 feet tall. I started at 185 and the weight loss became noticeable to other people when I lost 17 lbs. Good luck!

What a wonderful transformation. Great job!

Great job with the loss and congrats with the maintenance!

I caved to the feed a cold philosphy last night and ordered crispy prawns with walnuts and hot and sour soup. There's nothing like hot and sour soup to soothe an irritated throat!

I've been at a plateau for the past 3 months, but didn't give up. One month into the plateau, I started strength training. As of yesterday, I've pushed past the plateau and am pleased to report that I have moved out of the obese category into merely overweight.

Nice job! You were pretty before, but you're stunning in the after photo. The best part is that smile of sheer joy.

What an amazing transformation! Great job!

I've made this using chickpea flour and loved it: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-socca-a-naturally-gluten-free-chickpea-flatbread-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-169513

For me it was having my first (and hopefully last) kidney stone and realizing that being overweight was a contributing factor. Plus, I look at the older generation of my relatives and I used to think that the obese ones were still amazingly healthy despite their lifestyle. Now that they are in their mid to late 70's,…

Soups are good for filling up without a ton of calories. This is one of my favorites: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/french-lentil-soup-236772. I also love breakfast salad which is a huge mass of greens (like 4 cups), 1 or 2 pieces of bacon, 1 or 2 fried or poached eggs and 1 or 2 tablespoons of good balsamic…

You should be proud of yourself! 63 lbs is quite an achievement. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing -- stories like yours are very motivating. With your positive attitude, I know it'll only be a matter of time before you're posting what a difference 80 lbs makes.

44 year old here. I'd say it's definitely harder as you get older, but doable. What worked for me was just simplifying things. Instead of going low carb, vegan, paleo or whatever (I've tried it all, lost the weight and then regained it once I stopped), I just ate what I wanted, logged the food and tried to stop at the…

I seem to lose it all over which makes sense since I gain it evenly. It makes it harder to tell when I've gained or lost weight.

#Sued0nim: Thanks for the ideas to pile dishes on greens and to use cheese on top rather than in a dish. Great suggestions!

Thanks for the suggestions! How do you use powdered peanut butter? Do you incorporate it into sauces and dressings?

Have you looked into paleo crockpot recipes? They'd all be gluten free. Here's a link to some: http://paleomg.com/category/food/crockpot/

This looks delicious and like something to try when I want to splurge on dessert but don't want to feel bad about a total lack of nutrition. Thanks for sharing!

I've heard that Northern Va doesn't fit the demographics of the rest of the state, but I still consider myself a Virginian.

Wow! While I can believe there are a small percentage of troglodytes out there who would say something so rude, the fact that you've encountered 3 is staggering. I'm sorry you've encountered this. Sometimes people just suck.

What an inspiring story. You look so happy in the second picture!

I apparently have very elastic underwear. I keep reading about underwear falling off. After a 31 lb loss, my underwear isn't saggy and doesn't threaten to fall down. In fact, it fits the way it always has. I know I look smaller and I can see that my jeans are now saggy in the *kitten* where they used to be very tight.…

What a great post! You have a fantastic attitude and I loved reading about your wonderful friends who are supporting you. Thanks for sharing such a positive and impressive story!

I was annoyed in April that despite losing 20 lbs, lab tests showed moderately high cholesterol and high markers for inflammation. I met with a nutritionist who put me on a rigid food regime that I found unsustainable. After a week, I went back to just focusing on a calorie deficit (but trading in the bacon and heavy cream…

My favorite success stories are the health related ones. Congratulations on your wonderful and inspiring accomplishment!

I know it's a common theme, but it's unexpected how many more strangers smile and make small talk with me. I'm pretty sure it's not the strangers who have changed, but I think I project more confidence and smile more.

Thanks for sharing your transformation. It's certainly inspirational.

This week, my NSV was making two delicious and healthy dishes with seasonal produce that friends have given me from their gardens that I'll be making again and again. Gluten free tomato pie and cucumber soup. Both sound a little kooky, but they were so good. I used deal with work stress by going home and ordering high…
