My favourite smoothie is kale, frozen fruit, and a thickener (vega protein powder, banana, and/or yogurt, depending on what I have in the house)

Yes, I've noticed the next day that my fitbit retracts about 500 calories. I always go back to check and adjust my calories accordingly for the day ahead. Kind of a pita to do, I wish it worked based on what I had already burned, not what I'm projected to burn for the rest of the day. I added a few pics to my profile to…

I'm 4 hours away from the nearest city that does them. I had a hydrostatic test done a few years ago, but I've heard that they are very unreliable

@heybales Thank you so much for the info! Much appreciated :)

I guess it would be range for any/all the above. Because if my muscle mass is higher, then my BMI would be off/incorrect right? So what's a 'normal'/healthy size for clothing and/or weight and/or body measurements? Or maybe that range is too broad, because some people my height could get to a size 2-4, but I know my hips…

I have a body recomp question. The answer may have been posted already, so my apologies if this is a repeat question. My goal for the longest time has been to get into a healthy BMI. I'm about 4 lbs away from that goal. However, now that the weather is gorgeous, I've been doing a lot of yard work. I'm eating more calories…

I try to walk a lot. Some days I log 18km of walking without even leaving my yard lol. I like the fitnessblender.com videos, and insanity videos if I have the energy. I just got an elliptical to use when my boys are napping/watching t.v. I also do pushups, bicycle crunches, side leg raises, and butt lifts right before bed…

I like yogurt. Astro balkan coconut, Astro balkan plain, or Iogo probio plain. If it's plain I usually eat it with berries

Yes! For me it's also SO much harder to find the correct bra for my size. Before I was a 36C, but now the closest, best fitting size I can find is a 34D (which itself was really hard to find in my town!). It still doesn't fit quite right, but I don't know what size to try/where I could even find it. I'm guessing I should…

23 lbs lost is great! Just keep trying every day, and eventually you WILL get there! I've lost 26 lbs, and am at the point where my weight loss has stalled, but I am still seeing changes in how my clothes fit so I'm sticking with it. I've realized this is going to be a two year process with waiting for the skin to bounce…

I was just about to post about knee pain, so this thread is perfect timing. I hope it's ok that I post a question of my own? My knee pain feels like I have a stone tucked under my right knee cap, at the bottom. It is mostly noticeable with stairs, and just started today. I just got an elliptical last night, and have used…

How weird it is to look at your arms and see that they are smaller (for the first time ever in my life, and it gets me every time!) That my breasts would actually get perkier. I thought they were gone for good after nursing two kids, but I guess with less weight to drag them down... That the hot weather is nice because I'm…

Mmmm your dinner looks delicious!

I can relate to your love of going out. I really enjoy it too. When I get together with friends we go to the park to throw frisbees, go swimming, or go for hikes through the bush. We hang out at each others houses, or go camping together. We like to cross country ski together or go for a walk on the lake in the winter. We…

My friends and I get together for potlucks about once a week, so that's how we do our socializing. I don't stress about thee calories, and I've realized that I don't have to try everything (if I do then I only take a tbsp amount of each item). If I know that I'm going somewhere and I'm going to indulge in a snack, then I…

Try going for a walk. I love walking to clear my mind, but with two little ones at home right now it's not really an option for me. If you crave crunchy foods then eat veggies and dip, salty foods make plain popcorn, chocolate take a multivitamin for the magnesium and drink lots of water, and if you crave that 'full'…

I drink mine with 18% cream. The 50 (approx) calories are worth it to me, and I use about 26mL per mug.

How many calories should you be eating for maintenance at your current weight? Compare that to maintenance at your goal weight. There should be a calorie difference between the two. It's probably a small difference though, because you only have a little to lose. Wanting to lose it at a faster rate is what makes the larger…

Money is tight in my house too. I aim to eat eggs and an apple for breakfast, yogurt and berries or a smoothie for lunch, and a protein, veg, and rice or potatoes for dinner. It's cheap, filling, and usually between 1200-1500 calories a day, depending on the quantity I eat. I don't eat like this every day, but it's the…

When I lost 20 lbs I was so frustrated because people still hadn't noticed. When I hit the 25 lbs down point, then EVERYONE started noticing. It's taken me 6 months, and went from a (tight) size 16 to a (loose) size 12, or XL to M. Just keep going, and give it time :)

^^ Yes, that's why I just switched my weight loss goals. I have about 29 lbs to lose until my 'goal' weight. (Although my goal weight may be different if I'm lifting weights, I'm not sure. I'm 5'8", currently 167-170 lbs, with a goal weight of 140 lbs, but I'm thinking if I recomp then I may end up around 150-155 lbs)

Oh, I can't believe I forgot to mention this. Check out OKraw.com. John has been raw for 15 years now. He has a ton of videos on YouTube.

When I eat bread (I often don't because it's a calorie bomb for me), then the scale usually jumps up about 5 lbs. So those gains I don't worry about, I just stop eating it and the scale goes back down. When I do strenuous activity that leaves my muscles sore, I also gain weight (I'm assuming this is water weight for muscle…

I eat at maintenance once or twice a week. And once or twice a month I'll eat above maintenance. Most days I try to eat under my calories though, to make up for the social events where I don't track my calories (potlucks with friends, dinner with my parents or the inlaws)

I recently had dinner with a vegan friend, and he added crumbled tvp to the chili. Maybe that would help? It's something I'm going to try more often, because I also don't get enough protein most days (although I'm not vegan anymore - we raise our own chickens, and found a local meat source). I've found that on the days I…

@amwood1528 it was alright. I did it in the winter, and it's really cold where I live, so I was pretty happy to have a hot meal after I was done. I lost 7 lbs and was able to keep it off after that. The experience was good, but I couldn't do it all the time. I try to incorporate a lot more raw food into my diet though,…

My daily goal is 1,200, although my FitBit burns usually bump that number up. Most days I'm usually below 1,200 net though. I find that my digestive system slows right down, so about once a week I eat at maintenance, which seems to help keep things moving. I've found that the diet that keeps me satisfied is as follows:…

Watch Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Although it will make you want to buy a juicer, and juicing is expensive. When I went raw for a couple weeks I only aimed for 80%. That way I was still able to use things like oil and vinegar. I enjoyed lots of different kinds of juices, smoothies, lettuce wraps, and salads.

I like Vega. Their vanilla chai flavour is really good. My stomach has a hard time digesting whey, but I haven't had any issues with Vega. I find it really expensive though, so I only drink it after working hard, like doing an Insanity workout or something. If I could afford it I would probably have it every day though.

How fast do you want to lose weight? 1 lb a week? 2 lbs a week? How much do you want to lose in total?
