  • Who knew I would actually develop a bit of coordination, and that I would dance anywhere, in front of anyone, and not be self-conscious. (And that even if they noticed that I'm never on the beat, and think I dance weird, well you know what? I don't care haha!)
  • Yes, the crappy food days were the exception, not the norm, and I was logging them for accountability. The last few days are a better representation of how I normally eat. A lot of days I don't bother logging, because it's the same foods and I know they are within my calorie goal.
  • That's a great idea, thanks!
  • I'm probably not getting enough rest. I work two night shifts a month, and I'm up with my kids 2-3 times a night. I've got to say, I am very surprised about the diet comments. I feel like I eat pretty good most days and I drive my family nuts with the amount of vegetables I usually serve. I'll go back and review my diet,…
  • I had to get mine adjusted yesterday too! They had to be brought in on the sides because I've lost fat in the area above my ears lol. How good it feels to have the rep in Suzy Shier ask you your size, and saying XL or L (accounting for the weight loss, because last time I went in there even the XLs were too small for me),…
  • We were fine from Sept-Dec though, and I started MFP in January. Only 18 more days to go until summer vacation, so hopefully this is my last cold! I'll try to up my vegetables too, like one of the posters above suggested. I think Saturday night I just did a quick add for calories. I wish there was a way to say what the…
  • Thanks! Reading it now :)
  • Ok, this is what I was wondering. I had been to my doc a few months ago, and got the clean bill of health, so it must be from my sons school or something. They sure are little germ magnets haha!
  • Yes, this weekend was terrible! I had quite a few obligations this weekend, and today was an unplanned run-around in town day. I usually eat the same thing every day, and log to see where I'm at for calories if I'm off routine because I've had to make food exceptions. I usually eat 2-3 eggs, an apple, and a coffee for…
  • I'm taking a multivitamin for the micronutrients, and trying to get a lot of rest. This weekend was a bit of a write-off because I had two gatherings I had to go to, and late nights. My main form of exercise is running after my kids and dancing with them, so I don't get rest days lol Edited to add: I don't take a…
  • Yes, you are absolutely right about correlation not implying causation. It's my son's first year in Kindergarten, so being sick might have more to do with that than anything else. I guess I'm just sick of being sick lol. It's been back to back since the beginning of February!
  • Glad to hear you are okay! Just wanted to put it out there that if a person has untreated sleep apnea that can cause heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and a host of other problems. A person does not have to be overweight to have sleep apnea, and common signs of sleep apnea include witnessed apnea events, snoring, waking up…
  • Figure out a breakfast meal that leaves you satisfied. For me, that's eggs, an apple or pear, and/or leftover boiled potatoes, with coffee and 18% cream. Usually ends up being about 350 calories, and it seems to set me up for success for the rest of my day's eating. As much as I love bagels and buttered toast, if I have…
  • I used to do this, until I realized that I was eating because I'm tired. Now I just drink water to feel full, and go to bed early :)
  • I found that castor oil really helped my stretch marks
  • Google "The man who never gave up" and "Arthurs transformation" Those ones really motivate me when I need it!
  • Lays Hot BBQ chips. Although it's probably for the best that they were limited edition and only came out once a year. I used to eat three bags just for myself every May long weekend
  • I thought it was a typo too! Wow you look amazing! I was going to say that you looked like a young-looking person in their 30's!
  • @andympanda Time to get a new shirt! You're swimming in that green one!!
  • Yes, I've been sleeping terribly for weeks now, and it just occurred to me that I'm sleeping less half on my side + half on my stomach - I don't have the fat there to keep me propped up. So I've been sleeping more on my side, but that isn't comfortable either! I went and got a new pillow today for 'side-sleepers' so we'll…
  • Yes, I was firm before, but now I feel like I have a loose fat suit on. Especially when I run, my skin bounces up and down so much more than it ever did!
  • I'm getting back on track also. I lost 22 lbs, but have gained 3-5 lbs back (it fluctuates, but I've been eating pretty much around maintenance for the last few months). I had great success when I had my computer on the counter, and logged everything. Hubby hates it when I have the computer in the kitchen though, so I've…
  • Yes I've noticed this too. Being able to see my 'fat suit' makes me want to work harder to lose it! So, so jiggly right now though :(
  • That once you're ACTUALLY ready, it seems so much easier than any other time attempted before
  • Yes, I can't drink/eat whey. I like the Vega nutritional shakes
  • I'm interested in hearing what others have to say about this. I've often thought about it, because like you said this would have been common in our history. I just can't seem to go more than one meal before getting shakey though, so I've never attempted to go longer than that.
  • The recipe below is by far my favourite. Very filling, and the ACV brings the flavour to a whole new level. Delish! (recipe taken from http://viveleveganrecipes.blogspot.ca/2011/03/mellow-lentil-sniffle-soup.html, although I also own the recipe book it's from - Eat, Drink & Be Vegan - too) Mellow Lentil “Sniffle” Soup This…
  • I have a 3.5 year old and a 5 year old, a dog, and chickens. Lots of up and down the stairs to retrieve toys, back and forth to the bathroom with them, from the table to the kitchen and back for requests during meals, and to and from the chicken coop to check for eggs/bring them kitchen scraps, and running up the street…
  • Now things like apples, yogurt, smoothies, and tea with honey are my go-to's when I'm wanting something sweet
  • Great advice! This is exactly what I did, and I no longer consider myself addicted to sugar (and this week I had like 6 different types of it in the house, things I normally would have eaten until it was all gone, and I wasn't tempted!)
