  • Well, I have lost track of all the monthly stuff. My maintenance goal range is 114-117. I have been holding steady at 116 for a couple of months. Thanks @fidangul for these threads. Please do not give up on yourself or us! The struggle is real, but you can do it!
  • @fidangul No problem. Struggles happen and you will find your happy place
  • @CoachJen71 At least you are still within range. Things will get better!! @microwhisper I had the same problem. Try not to worry too much about it; things will eventually work themselves out. It took me a year. I am still a tad underweight, but my doc is ok with it. You will find your "me" weight.
  • @nichell88 Congrats on your weight loss! Maintenance can be tough. So many of us are/were focused on losing weight and there is a ton of information out there on the subject. Maintenance, not so much. May I suggest you use the same structure and discipline regarding maintenance as you did for losing? You certainly can be…
  • I lost 70+ lbs in less than a year. And I've kept them off for over two years. Yes, tracking calories in and out works. @rheddmobile has some good advice. I was certainly suprised at the amount of calories I was eating when I first started here; you may be as well. Don't let it get you down. Signup for the Hello Healthy…
  • Why in God's name would you eat bland, boring food when there are so may tasty foods out there that don't break the calorie bank? Hello Healthy, the MFP blog has tons of recipes, also skinnytaste.com and chocolatecoveredkatie.com (who is vegan and gives alternate recipes). There are lots more out there; look for them! P.S.…
  • I will mentor any female 50+ Been there, done that. Send me a message. Lost over 70# and kept them off for two years.
  • Excellent @jkm49! I kept logging for maybe a year and a half after hitting maintenance. It's been about five months since I stopped logging (well, I still log in my head!) and my weight is holding steady. Best wishes to you
  • @JustRobby1 May I act as a mom for a minute? I, too, had trouble when in maintenance at first and lost way too much weight. Yes, I am a runner and while I don't run races, I run 25-35 miles/week. I probably eat 2000-3000 calories most days and have found my "happy place" (apologies to Adam Sandler). Relax and don't worry…
  • Um, nope. 116 x 14 = 1624. If I only ate 1624 calories per day, I would waste away into nothing. Even excluding exercise, I would lose weight. Even the 15 multiplier is low. Base your maintenance calories on your activity level and let MFP be your guide, but not an end all, be all. MFP had me at 1600 - maybe based on your…
  • If you are really only eating 1750 and burning 3000 (!), you should be losing, and probably more than is safe. Please keep in mind the calories burned on MFP for exercise are not accurate. Fitbit will tell you one thing on your wrist, but it translates differently to MFP. Not sure how it works for you; for me it seems to…
  • I've been on maintenance for a couple of years after losing 70ish#. First and foremost, don't freak out! It will take a little while for you and your body to get used to where you are. Try to stay off the scale except for once/week. Daily (and weekly) fluctuations can really mess with your head. How do you feel? How do…
  • @Rachelmilloy Happy Birthday! Great job on your weight loss. Please keep in mind, it is OK to celebrate once in a while. One salad will not make us lose weight, one cheeseburger will not make us gain. Somewhere along this road, we need to learn to forgive ourselves and splurge!
  • It looks like everyone is doing fairly well. I've been away and not logging for a while, but thought I would check in. I stopped logging back in June. I started here almost 3 years ago weighing in at 187#, probably size 18? XXL for sure. Most of my weight in my belly, but certainly not confined there, I hit…
  • @Tacklewasher 64 grams (1/2 cup) of Breyers M&Ms Blast is 140 calories. Actually better that Halo Top and tons cheaper!
  • Buy Halo. I think the worst pint is 320 calories. Oatmeal cookie is really good and the whole damn pint is only 280 calories. Otherwise, you could become an ice creamaholic like someone already said...
  • I have deleted, installed, re-installed, restarted phone, uninstalled & re-installed Bluetooth, stood on my head and screamed bloody murder. I got in touch with fitbit; they sent me a new one and guess what? Yep, same stuff, different day. I have my newer one set for all day sync and so far, so good. However, it has only…
  • 5'7" SW: 190 CW: 116 A little sagging but not too bad. I hope you are progressing well on your journey. A little sagging skin beats being fat.
  • I run maybe 30 miles/week and in the summer wear Hanes footies and in the winter some black socks with great padding. Can't remember the name, but never had blisters. Callluses, yes, but no blisters. I do trail running so my feet are constantly wet.
  • OK, here is my big question of the day. This is the 55-65 year old womens success thread. @GaleHawkins @stevencloser and @mmapags what are you doing here? Any of you ladies (real ones) want to form an invitation only group, let me know.
  • Please read this before you judge me. I was always thin. As a kid I was athletic. As a teen I was athletic. The most I weighed as an adult was 165# on the days I gave birth. I felt heavy at 145 when I kinda stopped losing the baby weight. Fast forward to my 50's. I quit smoking (2 packs a day) and discovered taste buds.…
  • Name: mk Age: 59 Total weight lost: 70+ Time to lose: Less than a year Time in maintenance: Over two years So, I had a big scare this month. I've been weighing in 114-117# all year, averaging maybe 116#. Two weeks ago I was at 119#, then 120# Holy you know what!!! I about lost it. Now keep in mind I've been a tad…
  • I have not quit weighing in yet, but am thinking about it. Quit logging in June and weight is static. I never even had a scale until I joined here. I would LOVE to tell it goodbye! I've been at maintenance for a couple of years. Everything still fits. Go for it!
  • Your cup size will probably return to your original size when you lose those last 10KG. Mine actually went smaller than when I started.
  • @SharonAnderegg - I agree! My husband and I have had so much fun these last several years planning meals and tweaking recipes. @dlm4mom you can learn to tweak the recipes, too. Don't worry about your chef sister. Let her do her thing, you can learn your new thing!
  • @SharonAnderegg I love to keep moving. A couple of years ago, I walked and "rode" my elliptical. I sort of graduated to running, which I must say I absolutely love. If you had known me when I was young, you would be laughing yourself silly about now. I was the girl who tripped over her own two feet and had to hit a home…
  • I agree with all of the above and am thinking that if this is important enough for you, you will either remember what/how much you ate or log in a timely manner.
  • @AnnPT77 I am reminded of my mom's roommate in the nursing home. She was extremely overweight. They had to use a cherry picker to get her out of her bed and into a wheelchair. This was before I gained my weight, but I vowed right there and then that I would never be that woman.
  • Just posted on August and realized it is already September. Time is flying past. Name: mk2 Age: 59 Total weight lost: 72ish# Time to lose: <1 year Time in maintenance: 2 years give or take Maintenance range: 114-117 Without going in to the whole thing, I have been bouncing around my range for most of this year. All of my…
