  • Could have fit a bag of popcorn, and a Twix into my calories goals for a snack last night. Took a look at my nutrition, and realized I was way off of my protein goals for the day. Had a can of tuna fish with cottage cheese, and a fried egg on top with a greek yogurt on the side.
  • *sips on zero calorie soda while on track to hit 2lb lost this week*
  • Think of it like holding your breath while trying to push that breath out with your diaphragm/abdominal muscles. Once you feel the muscle group activate correctly, you'll be able to repeat it without actually holding your breath.
  • It really depends on what your goals are. If you're looking for endurance, then jogging/running is the way to go, and starting out on something like couch-to-5k would be a good place to look. If you're looking to get strong, then you'll need a weightlifting program. A lot of females here recommend something like Strong…
  • Holy bajeebus... I am in the wrong racket.
  • Which sort of dance music? Wondering if that has anything to do with the username. :) I'll generally sate my cravings with extremely small portions of them. If I'm craving salty, I'll have like three potato chips, or if I'm craving something sweet, I'll have a Hershey's Kiss (although, the Hugs are better). I make sure to…
  • I leave a BUNCH on the table during the weekdays. I have about 2500 to eat each day that I'm not at the gym (well over 3000 on gym weekdays), but try not to go over 2000 Monday - Friday, and will generally try not to go much over 1700. I bank them for the weekends, and also have a gym day one weekend day as well so that I…
  • I drink a whole mess of water during the day. Not sure how much exactly, but I'm fairly certain it's well over a gallon. I tend to drink water in large chugs, so I'll generally wake up, gulp down a 16oz glass, get ready for work, gulp down another 16oz glass before leaving, get to work, gulp down a 12oz cup before sitting…
  • To be back under 250 when I log my weight on Friday morning!
  • I jog at 5.5mph for 30 out of 45 minutes. The rest is spent walking at 3.5mph. At 250lbs, the treadmill will say I burned about 650 calories, but I equate that to between 450-500 as that's what most sites range between for my height, weight, and exercise time.
  • IT'S SKYLINE TIME!
  • The harder your exert yourself, the higher your calorie burn will be.
  • First off, congrats on all of your recent life successes up to this point. Secondly, you're in luck because weight loss isn't about being able to lift, or even really be active. Sure, those most definitely help, but what really matters is your calorie consumption. If you eat more calories than you burn each day, you'll…
  • I'm tall, but I have short legs (6'1" with 30" inseam, lol). I walk at 3.5mph, and jog at 5.5mph currently.
  • And after you hit your goal, they'll all be gushing over how fantastic you look. I don't know why people say these things. It's like they're either threatened by the possibility of your being healthy, especially if you're healthier than they are, or they think you're suffering, and are trying to save you from dying of…
  • Currently wearing a size L shirt at work! :)
  • I would definitely parrot the whole "don't do too much too fast" sentiment. I sidelined myself for a number of months with tendonitis in my Achilles because I tried to increase my speed before I was ready even though I was able to run at my current pace for about four miles straight without stopping. I had only been able…
  • Oh muh gawd... Jeni's. SO glad I live in Columbus, OH where the actual storefronts are located.
  • Everything should be measured raw unless otherwise specified on the nutrition label.
  • There's absolutely no way I would have lost the weight I have over the last year without a food scale. No way. Thankfully, I'm now to the point where I can estimate with decent accuracy. I still it out if I'm ever in doubt though... which is also a good life lesson. heh
  • Three days per week right now. Usually, I'm working on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I'd like to increase it to four days a week, and have a morning session on Sundays too though once I think my body can handle in in a few weeks. I've only been back at it for like six weeks now, so I'll be increasing my load soon.
  • I've found that the more hydrated I am the less likely I am to get stitches. Do you run with a breathing cadence? I run with a 2/2 cadence, and if I get a stitch, I make sure that my out breaths end on the side opposite the stitch. That seems to help quite a lot.
  • I usually get the same way. If I eat too soon after waking up then I feel a little sick to my stomach for a good hour. On work days, I'll generally eat a little something high protein/low cal at noon on my first break. My lunch is at 2:00pm, so I'll eat around 500cal lunch, and save the rest of my day for dinner/night…
  • Maybe a protein shake? They're generally around 120 - 150 calories each, and are quite filling for a while.
  • I believe wings are generally around 70cal each. That's what I've always treated them as. As for sauce, the hotter the sauce you get the less calories there will generally be considering most hot sauces are made from vinegar, salt, and peppers which are all extraordinarily low to zero calories. The way places cut down on…
  • I decided to quit eating breakfast before work since my first break is at Noon. I'll eat something really small like a couple hundred calorie salad, or a yogurt + something snackish at that point. My lunch is generally around 500 calories, so I have a lot leftover for the rest of the night. It works fine for me because it…
  • This. You have to make it a habit. It has to become part of your normal routine where it is an expected, and prepared for, piece of time out of your day.
  • *kitten* Piss *kitten* *kitten* *kitten* .... and tits.
  • Protein powders won't build muscle on their own. You'd have to be lifting heavy in a caloric surplus in order to build muscle. That said, Casein powder is great for meal replacement because it digests slowly, and clumps in the stomach allowing you to feel full longer. Optimum Nutrition is generally expensive, but it's also…
  • Directly from the McD's website states that a large coffee with a single cream is 20cals. Considering coffee doesn't really have calories itself, I would hazard a guess that a large coffee with two creams is 40cals.
