  • SW 320 CW 235 GW 185 36 lbs away from 199. So close that I can almost taste it after losing more than double that amount so far.
  • Your body breaks all sugars down into the same thing regardless on whether, or not they are processed. Your coworker lost weight watching her sugar intake because there is a lot of sugar in a lot of things that add excess calories to whatever she was eating, and she put herself into a calorie deficit by keeping an eye on…

  • Coming only from anecdotal experience, it is completely normal to feel sick for quite a while after a hard workout if you're not used to it. Also, of course your BP/Heartrate is up. The point of exercise is to place strain on the body to force it to react.
  • Brooks Ravenna models were awesome to me, and they're designed with a wider foot in mind.
  • I started at 320, and could barely make it 30 seconds without feeling like I was going to collapse. Now, I'm down to 235, and I've blown the doors off c25k. Working on a 5k-to-10k program now.
  • Don't push yourself too hard if you've only been running for seven weeks. Your body likely still hasn't physiologically become strong/pliable enough to accommodate the added strain. Pushing yourself before your body is ready greatly increases the risk of injury. Unfortnately, 2.5miles max at a 14mi/min pace shows that…
  • I'm currently trying to transition from time to distance now that I'm able to get up to 3.5 miles regularly. I hit a 5-miler last night for the first time, so at those distances it seems to be more effective to go by mileage.
  • I'm really looking forward to having good looking clothes when I start into my next wardrobe. I'm already down 85lbs, so I'm starting to fit into more stuff as it is, but they still don't make a lot of the clothes I'd want in XL.
  • Finally just starting to get back into gaming after a long hiatus. I have a little bit of free time, and had the money to splurge on a PS4. Currently playing through Fallout 4 in the mornings before work, and on the weekends. I am trying to be more active in the outdoors (more than just playing golf at least), but it's…
  • Haha, thanks for the replies all. Lol. If you only knew how much of an impact red, and blue lasers actually had on my life in my more adventurous years...
  • I started at 310lbs, and had no physical issues other than I was super out of breath after 30 seconds, which got better over time. I did end up injuring myself by trying to add in too much work too fast, but I'm now down to a hair under 240lbs, and am up to about 3.5miles straight since beginning work again about nine…
  • Definitely trying to do too much too fast, and not being pleased with results because they seemed to be too slow. It's a process. It takes time. Be patient.
  • Whatever you do, don't up your intensity just to try to burn more. You risk serious injury if your body isn't ready for that kind of workout. If you're not burning enough calories now, take it slow, and before you know it you'll be jogging longer, faster, and you'll be burning a whole bunch of them.
  • *drinks up to three zero cal monsters per day* *has not yet died, and manages to lose weight*
  • If the shoes didn't rub the back of your foot before you started losing weight, you can try using the lock on them, if they have that feature, which most running shoes do. The lock is the hole next to the top hole. To use it, you feed the lace on that side over the top so it looks like a straight stitch, then you criss…
  • Way more than that, even. He ate his whole entire pizza with however much soda, that's 2300 on it's own, probably more in the realm of 3000 though. After that, he ate 3/4ths of his mom's pizza. I think that one was around a 5000cal hit to the ol' food diary.
  • People who get up to these weights are very rarely the "I'm going to just get as fat as I want, and eff everyone else" variety. The vast majority have deep seated mental issues which generally occurred due to severe childhood trauma, and a broken family/enabling system literally feeding into their disorder.
  • Also, are you using a measuring tape? It is very common for someone just starting out on exercise to maintain, or even gain weight while losing inches for the first few weeks due to water retention.
  • *drinks 2 - 4 diet sodas per day* *has lost 25lbs since Christmas, and over 80lbs overall* Also, A&W 10 Root Beer is AMAZING!
  • It is WAY too easy to underestimate calories if you're not pretty well experienced with measuring/weighing the types of food you're eating. 450 calories isn't all that much depending on what you're eating, so it is easy to overshoot the mark by quite a lot.
  • Yep, I'd definitely give myself the 'beetus with this one.
  • Tuna + Cottage Cheese sprinkled with black pepper = amazing

  • It's cheap. It's accessible. They have a lot of stuff for cardio, and dumbbell work. If you're not into weightlifting, then I'd be hard pressed to find a better place to suit your needs.
  • Actually, both ways are right, neither is wrong. ;)
  • Meal timing is irrelevant. However, I try not to eat anything at least 3-4 hours before going to the gym. I get such an upset stomach if there is much of anything in it.
  • Well, your BMR (basal metabolic rate) which is just what your body needs to keep itself alive if you were in a vegetative state is probably between 2100 - 2300 at 260lbs, so any activity over that just adds to the your calorie allotment. If you burn 1000cal per day with all of the activity you do apart from being a…
  • I've heard the whole "not touching" thing a lot, but I could never understand it. I grew up with a family that puts foods on top of foods.
  • 2450, but I break it up to under-2k on weekdays, and somewhere around 3k on Saturday-Sunday.
