  • I know it is hard to hear.... but... Don't cheat for a while. I, too, experienced this same situation over the holidays. I had to buckle down and decide not to have cheat days because watching the scale fluctuate so much was frustrating me! My ultimate goal is, get to my goal weight.... then when I am trying to maintain,…
  • Angscott, congrats on your loss!!! Welcome to everyone new! I have done the LCHF lifestyle before and had tremendous success a few years ago. I fell off the wagon when I went on vacation and.. well here I am after many failed attempts at other diets. I found that this lifestyle works for me and makes the most sense. I…
  • My husband and son (10) eat whatever I make. I keep it simple as well. We have a Traeger grill, which has changed our lives btw ;), that we use almost daily for dinner stuff. So we smoke a lot of our meats. Also, these boys love their BBQ sauce so I just eat whatever meat it is plus the veggies without sauce... and I add…
  • OH AND.. Heavy Cream is sooooooooo tasty in coffee! I use it with Splenda in mine. It feels like I am cheating it's so good. I noticed a difference in my hunger in the mornings when I started using it as well!

It can be challenging at times, but then when you get on the scale and you are down a few pounds in a couple weeks it is soooo motivational!! I agree with everyone, 30g net is great for the first day! It is definitely an adjustment. Volfan22 has a great method as…
  • All the info everyone has given is great. Another thing you can try is cutting out the almonds and see if that helps your weight drop. A lot of the "troubleshooting" tips you can find online say nuts sometimes cause stalls in weight loss when you are doing LCHF. This is not true for everyone of course, but its worth a…

  • along with the hard boiled eggs, you could make bacon, two slices cook in the microwave in 1 1/2 minutes for me. You could even make a batch of bacon ahead of time and just baggie it with your boiled eggs. I make bacon and scramble two eggs in the mornings, usually have it made and eaten in less than 10 minutes. LOL...
  • Hey y'all! I am Candice, I have been doing LC this time around since November 2014. I have had a few setbacks with the holidays, but I am ready to press on this month! • I do the cooking as well. So far we are having ham and wine... not sure what else yet! I can't decide what to make. The fam is growing tired of my broccoli and cauliflower recipes. Maybe some green beans, I may make the boys some sweet potatoes. I don't like sweet potatoes and if there are going to be carbs on the table,…
  • I was actually sick this week and tried to find something that sounded good. I made chicken soup, chicken breast, 1/2 cup onion, 1/2 cup celery, and 2 cans chicken broth. Lots of pepper and salt. Just let it all boil and cook together for about 40 minutes. It was actually not too shabby.....

  • A low carb diet isn't an "elimination" diet. Some of the others suggested doing research on the low carb lifestyle, and I will suggest that as well. The concept of diets like Atkins, LCHF, etc is to lower your carb intake and get your body to switch from using carbs/sugar for energy to using fat for energy. Going from…
