I am opinionated. Always have been that way. When comments are made that I feel are defensible or even derogatory then I can't stay still or silent. It's not being over sensitive. I quite a strong and level headed person. It's stating my words so they are clear and my points are reiterated when I feel it is required. As…

Hi, I do spend time with my kids and really to imply that I spend more time I the kitchen then with them is a low blow. My children cook with me, we sit at the ramble and eat dinner as a family then we finish off by doing the dishes and clean up together. But that is how I run dinner time at home and not necessarily the…

Again, my choice IS not avoid and not eat pre-made, boxed/bagged goods found at your fast food or groceries stores. My opinion and my own commitment to myself. It was not, in anyway, meant to offend or disrespect anyone else or another persons own personal goals. I love making my own dinners, I enjoying flavouring my…
A 32oz bag of Tyson chicken nuggets is $4.99. You can buy enough organic, no hormone, no antibiotic chicken, eggs to make egg wash and breading to make the same amount of chicken nuggets (maybe 30 in a bag?) For less than $5? Because when I was at the store this weekend the organic, boneless skinless chicken…

I tend to have margarine more then butter but I stay away from bread so my consumption of either is very minimal. Are you from Hamilton?

Personal attacks are not welcome but if you insist on going down the NHL road let me clarify a few facts for you 1. My habs are #1 overall right now with a record of 14-4-1 2. Habs have the most Stanley cups to date - 24 times 3. Habs also have claimed another 25 NHL titles and are the most successful team in the League 3.…

I am the same with cheese, I buy bricks and shred myself. I do not like white/yellow potatoes but I do like sweet potatoes. I saw a recipe this week to make beat chips. Whole beats, peeled and sliced thin, baked in the oven for 15 min then left to cool. PS, it is my understanding that butter is better for you then…

I am lost. So I use 1460 and eat 1460 but them I burn 200 calls so really I only ate 1260? Do I eat back the 200 I used? I have a hard time getting to 1200 cals, with the smarter food choices but I don't want to fill up on empty calories just to eat.

MFP said 1460, I am aiming for 1200

I have not yet figured out how to add a photo otherwise I. Would show you my Sunday prep for the week, but I also prep for my kids lunches as well. I work mon-fri 7am so this saves me a lot of time and ensures I do not reach for convince. This week for lunches i made: individual lasagna cups (no noodles)but organic wontons…
How much weight do you have to lose? A 1000 calorie deficit is a lot, and may not be sustainable?
I am confused on what calorie deficient is. my goal is to eat 1200 calories a day. But just an example: If you eat 1000 calories and you have to burn more then you eat, you have to then burn 1000 calories…

I guess my error was to use the words "clean eating" and to use a photo from google. I was trying to find a starting ground for myself. A goal setting initiative for myself. I am trying and attempting to eat healthier. I don't want to eat "convenience" foods but rather to meal plan and prep my weeks foods. I want to…

I believe this is what I was trying to do. Seek out people who were attempting the same type of program. Somehow this conversation turned into an ugly monster with deragatory terms and not so humorous photos at my expense. This talk can take on whatever life form it wants but I am not a punching bag or an expert in all…

Sorry for the mistake. We always eat at home or with friends and family at their home*

I do not eat out. I am married to a chef and eat out maybe three times a year. We ways eat at home or woth friends / family. I got into late night munchies, baking and quick lunches which is part of the reason I ended up here. Chocolate is not my downfall, but other snacks are. It's ok to say no to cake & ice cream. And I…

I new to MFP. I was not aware of the controversial nature of this post. I am just starting out. I joined last week. Today I wish I never did.

Really, this is ok? Lots of food comes out of a box where additives and artificial colours and flavours are added. I do not eat shake and bake. I add basil and oregano that I purchase from the farmers market. I do not drink pop at all. I do not add sugar to my coffee or eat lunches from lean cuisine. I choose to make my…

I am no longer reading this posts or replying to this board. I am utterly discouraged by the feedback presented in this discussion board. This post was never meant to be a discussion over who is correct or what is right. It was about My choice and my decision. I asked for others who are trying the same program to add me.…

My choice is to eat healthier to eat smarter and to not add sugar into my diet. Again, I state "my choice." I choose to not eat food that comes out of a box I choose to eat whole foods I choose to not add or eat foods with sugar. I ate real oatmeal today I will eat chick pea salad with kale I will eat chicken breast and…

I only adddd the photo As of today I am doing the above but an 8 week challenge. I am hoping I can find others who are trying clean eating. I premade all of my breakfasts, snacks and lunches for the week and bought the meat and veggies for every day to ensure I do not open a box at dinner time. I need to make a change!

Thank you Jenny. How do you burn 1000 calories in a day?

What is caloric deficit?

[quote="DeannaLynnPerkins; You said that you are planning to schedule your treadmill time like you schedule your meetings, I think this is a great idea! Don't feel like you HAVE to workout in the mornings. You can work out any time of the day as long as it's the time that a) works best for you and b) is when you have the…
