+1000000000000. Eat up to your calorie goal. And if you're under 18, please head on over to sparkteens.com.

I have been meaning to do this, and I plan to use this recipe: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/homemade-chicken-broth with a few tweaks. They're estimating 245 calories/serving. This seems high, but when you factor in the gelatin from the bones and the fat from the skin, I guess it works. I did a big pot of broth a few…

In Florida I'm a six if you're legally blind, but I am a solid 10 in Iowa and Arkansas

Re: liability, this blog post does a pretty good job of explaining the liability waivers in the average US gym contract. A person doing exercises on their own with equipment that is not known by the gym to be faulty is not going to in a case against the gym. The gym doesn't even have to explain how to properly do the…

This thread inspired me. I had a box of Holiday Velvets (red velvet/devil's food and green velvet/vanilla) so I tested it with and without 2 T. of water. There was no difference in texture that I could taste. I like them, but I think a carrot or spice mix would have been better.

I take all of my dietary advice from people who promote new and exciting things to do with nature's pocket. Frankly, if a celebrity deigns to share the wisdom they've gleaned from their $10,000 an hour naturopath-slash-psychic, we should give their words the attention it deserves.

I lost 10% of my body weight before other people started to notice. I lost almost 20% before I was able to see it in the mirror naked.
-
If it's not derailing you now, it will in the future. I scooped out half a cup of oatmeal and ended up with 20% more weight. Eggs and bread are usually heavier than the calorie count on the package (1 large egg=averages 70 calories according to the USDA; they are most frequently 75+ in my experience). If you have a…

Oooh, I feel for you. I hope you're able to get rest soon! SideSteel--that's might have been what happened to her, no real way to tell at this point. And then it's possible that she simply tightened up on her diet. I had never heard of it helping with weight loss in the way she described so I wanted to see if it was a…

Taring scales all night long :(

No, I think you're right--when I sleep less than I usually do, all of those things happen! And it does make sense that better sleep would have a cumulative effect, but my friend acted like it was a sudden change that led to her losing weight again (I would assume a woosh if that happened to me, but I'm grasping at straws…
-
I really don't get in bed unless I'm ready to drop. I'm not especially concerned about my lack of sleep, so much as wondering if other people noticed a change in their rate of loss after they started sleeping more.

hahahaha

I'm getting about 5-6 hours, with a couple of interruptions in the night. This hasn't hindered me to date, but when she said that, it made me wonder.

Not even that much. Mine is $16.72 now, but they're as low as 13 bucks: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=ozeri+digital+scale&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=3480221894&ref=pd_sl_2hm6rdwhgu_p

I lived in a really shady apartment complex right next to one. I just told myself that I would have to get in a car to go anywhere else and I was being kind to the environment. Plus I was broke. Hence the sketchy apartment.

I don't mind dreaming about exercising, but I've dreamed about logging food and that's the most boring dream possible.
-
One day at a time, one foot in front of the other. Concentrate on the process--weighing and logging every bite accurately--and the results will follow. You got this.

The USDA only counts the edible parts of the fruit. Same with meat (although you should be careful to choose entries with or without skin, bones, etc). You are doing fine.
-
There isn't an entry for "Apple-no core" because the USDA doesn't count the complete core in its tests. It certainly doesn't count the seeds, which contain amygdalin and should not be chewed by humans, and I can't imagine the flesh of the core is so materially different from the apple flesh that it would need to be counted…

I apologize for derailing what has now become a Sugar: Evil or Very Evil? thread
-
All of the posters claiming that the USDA does not include bones and gristle and cores in its entries are correct.

OP, if you're cutting calories, you want more protein to preserve the lean mass you already have. You will probably form very little, if any, new muscle. (The formation of new muscle is a big part of why there's a GAINING weight board here.) Your friend is a moron. To be honest, his nutritional guidance isn't even the most…

Without seeing what you're writing, it's impossible to say whether they're snobs or if there's something in your message that isn't translating. "Hi beautiful, what are you up to today?" is a pleasant and respectful message, but it's so generic that it almost screams "I didn't read your profile, I'm just fishing." Or maybe…

Exactly. And as it says in the OP, she used to judge people herself and doesn't want to be judged now. I don't want to be judged either . . .but I still try to figure out what kind of person you are based on your attire, attributes, and actions.
-
I don't, but I also have a large deficit. I don't count them because I don't measure them and I don't think it would be accurate to put a steaming pan on my scale as I sprinkle spices in.

Definitely go to the link kgeyser posted and try to seek help from a therapist as well. No one should try to diagnose you over the internet. Good luck with your recovery.

Wait, are you supposed to do these barefoot? When i do the yoga ones I'm barefoot, but I did the Island Cycling with shoes.

OP, you don't watch Parks and Rec? You better treat yo' self with a marathon.

Ana, I would message Olivia.
