It still counts even if you don't log it. ;) Try logging all your beer for one week and see where it leaves you in regard to calories. That'll give you a starting point for setting some goals. :)

I also like these: * Bake eggs instead of boiling them. Put a damp (but not dripping) old kitchen towel on the cold oven rack. Eggs should not touch each other. Bake room-temp eggs at 320F for 30 minutes. Then dunk them in ice water for 5-minutes and peel under a running tap. Thanks, Alton Brown! Best eggs ever.…

There has been absolutely NO change in the patronage of my gym. Which is great because I have a favorite machine and I NEVER have to wait for it. But it also bums me out. I was hoping to see new butts on those treadmills! Get in here. We don't bite. :D I actually only use the stationary bike. It's an upright one, not…

Danni, they turned out good. I have to say, while I appreciate the low calories and high protein, my second batch turned out so much better. They are: VINCENT'S GRANOLA BARS Makes 12 servings 306 calories each 1.5 cups granola 1 cup cinnamon rice crisp cereal 3/4 cup smoked almonds 1/3 cup honey 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1/2…

Thanks, SmartAlec! Zyxyst: I just made another batch without some ingredients and they are even better. So easy to make. Highly recommend. :) Samantha: You're absolutely right about that. Luckily, I don't worry too much about an extra 50 here and 50 fewer there. I generally balance it out by eating one large one then one…

I did actually state in my initial post that I weighed them.

Try making it with half spaghetti squash, half spaghetti. Roast the squash, pull strands with fork and add to half-cooked spaghetti. Sauté the rest of the way in cheap white wine and a Tbsp. of butter with some salt and pepper. I would personally also add sweet peas or broccoli. If they're very adventurous, mince and sauté…

We have a lot in common. I'm 30 and this is my 2nd MFP account. I lost 80 lbs. (of my 110 lb. goal) the first time and gained it all back. Every ounce. I got down to 152 lbs. at my lowest so it's pretty devastating to be 233 again. 5 days ago I was eating about 2500 calories per day and not exercising. Today I burned 1,000…

Whoaaaa...okay that is interesting. I've heard of studies like this before but this seriously makes me wary of the information contained herein. Thank you for pointing that out! Eesh! I need to be more thorough before posting articles in the future!

Just send them this: "No excuses...In short, while there is some variance among the population in terms of metabolic rate, the range is not wide enough to be a real factor in your ability to alter your weight. If you’re having trouble with either fat loss or muscle gain, simply start keeping track of calories and slowly…

Make your own potato meals. Potato soup is awesome. 1 whole yellow onion (roasted in a little oil), vegetable bouillon cubes, unsweetened plain almond milk, ranch powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, butter, dash of nutmeg, dried herbs. Broccoli-stuffed baked potatoes. Also, anything with eggs. I do one or two whole eggs…

Thanks for all the adds, you guys! :D Happy to be back!

That's really good advice. It's something I'll be able to bring myself to do once I get a few dozen of these lbs. gone. :) As far as people telling me not to call it a cheat meal, that's just language. Call it what you want or call it nothing at all. I log everything, whether I've been able to stay on track or not. To…

I agree with you but this is a battle you cannot win. It's a forum on a free, public site with, what, millions? of subscribers now. I've been here a long time (this account is new), since wayyyy before the APP days when it was just a website. Nothing is going to change. Just ignore the stupids.

Thanks, everyone, for the replies. Velum_cado, your logic makes perfect sense to me about it averaging out to still be a deficit and that's how I've always thought about it. Plus, there are a few days where I work out a ton and can't eat back all my exercise calories so my net is like 900 cals. I did want to clarify, I…

Sean_TheITGuy: This is WONDERFUL information!!! Thank you so much! I will definitely be getting a dozen hens. This information is extremely helpful. I can't thank you enough! --- To the point of carton whites: I find them to be about twice as expensive as eggs, so I won't be going this route. I always use the extra yolks…
