PLZ HELP: Bone-In Chicken Calories
Hi, all, I have a chicken thigh in the oven. It weighs 16.5 oz., skinless, bone-in. How can I calculate calories for this without having to weigh it after it's cooked or take the bone out and weigh that? Isn't there a rule-of-thumb for these? I would imagine ~45 calories per ounce of meat but how to account for the bone?…

Filiberto's Steak, Egg, Cheese Breakfast Burrito Calories?

P.S.: I'm going to the gym later and…

PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter + Greek Yogurt
I know this isn't news, but I finally got around to trying it! I just mixed 12 g. (2 Tbsp.) of PB2 powdered peanut butter into 227 g. (1 cup) of nonfat plain greek yogurt with a packet of splenda. MY GOD. It is so good. It certainly has the flavor and tang of the greek yogurt but 3x as much protein as peanut butter and way…

30F back to lose 100+!
Hey, all. Back to do this for the second and final time. I was thin and athletic growing up. After high school, I put on about 10 lbs. a year for a solid decade. Scary how easy that is to do. In 2011, I used MyFitnessPal to lose 83 lbs. Went from an all-time high of 235 down to 152. Still overweight but looking and feeling…

Advice for getting back on track? Pre-prepped meals, etc.
I've already lost this weight and gained it all back. 80 lbs. of my 110 lb. goal. So, here I am, trying to get serious about this again. But I'm finding food to be tough this time around. My boyfriend is gaining weight and I am losing. We're like the Sprats. So, generally, I cook three portions for dinner and he gets two…

Week 1: Extremely Vivid Dreams?!
Hi, all! I'm back at it after gaining 80 lbs. back. Week 1 of eating right and working out and my dreams have become intense and vivid! I wonder if this means I'm getting better/more REM sleep? I'm not a medical or sleep professional, so I wondered if this was a common experience for people losing weight. I've already lost…

You canNOT use your heart rate monitor to find your TDEE.
Here's my exchange with Polar. Thought this might help others with the same question I had. Thanks! I hope that clears up some misconceptions. Cheers!

New Heart Rate Monitor...questions! LOTS of math. Need help!
So, I have serious math issues and need your help. Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to even be bothered reading this. I would REALLY appreciate it! :D I just got my new Polar FT4 yesterday. I wore it all day, a rest day with no exercise, just normal, mostly-sedentary day-to-day activities, for 12 hours…

Do you ever have trouble deciding what to eat?
I know how to count calories so it's not a question of what CAN I eat with my remaining calories but what do I WANT to eat! Do you ever feel like nothing in the fridge is worth the calories? And I'm taking today off the gym because I'm calibrating my normal amount of calories burned on an average rest day (just got my…

How do you follow threads you comment on in the forums?
Probably the wrong place for this but the tech forum is practically abandoned. I have all my boxes checked in settings to auto update my feed and lots of things aren't posting. A quick search of the site shows that this feature is just not working right now and they plan to fix it at some arbitrary future time. How am I…

LifeProTip: Drill a Hole in Your Trash Can to Eliminate Suction
I just drilled three small holes about 3" up from the base on the back of my garbage can because I'm sick of wrestling with the full bag when it's time to take it out. No more suction and it just slips right out. :) This is not my idea. It's all over the internet. But I just finally DID it. Anyone else got any more kitchen…

Are the calories right on my first batch of homemade granola bars?
I did everything I normally do to make sure the calories, macros and micros are properly represented (vetting the label with other sources, weighing on my digital food scale, etc.). I've shown volume amounts below but I converted everything to weights as I went. I just didn't record those this time since it was an…

Egg Whites Getting Expensive - Ideas?
I looooove egg whites! They're extremely nutritionally balanced given my macros and they taste awesome with very little seasoning. I generally do 2 whole eggs and 4 egg whites for breakfast. Or I'll mix one whole egg and 3 whites in with 2 cups chopped veggies (broccoli is my fave) and bake for a low-calorie snack/meal.…

"Cheat Meals" - Are they ever okay?
I know this gets asked a lot - I'M SORRY!!! - but I've just returned to the site and never could figure out how I felt on the matter.
