I refuse to pay for movie theater popcorn -- too darn expensive!!! I pop my own, & bring it in a sealed plastic bag, in a large purse or shopping bag. The hardest part is waiting for the movie to start so that I don't finish it during the previews!!!

I make egg sandwiches the night before, wrap them up & heat them at work around 9am. Bread either 80-100 cal (2 slices low cal bread, light english muffin, flat rolls - can't remember what they're called, or 1/2 ww pita pocket, 50 cal egg beaters (6 tbsp/92 gm), sometimes a slice of canadien bacon (20 cal) or a light…

My daughter tried them (gluten free) & they were just too thin to be a pancake. Next time she added about 1/4 cup of gf flour mix, & I think they were ok.

You can save it as a meal. When you put the ingredients in for your sandwich, click on the "more" in the app, or on "quick tools" on the website. Then pick "save meal" & it will save all those foods, in a meal that you name, which will be choosable from the "my meals" section. Next time you pick it (ie, turkey/cheddar…

I do, expecially on work days -- I don't want to find myself without food, & have to rely on what the cafeteria has (although I keep oatmeal packets. tuna kits & soup here so that I always have a backup). I also leave between 6 & 630am, so I have all my food either in the fridge or my lunch bag, all ready to grab when I…

My mom's standby -- olive oil, lemon juice -- probably 2-4 tbsp of each, depending on how large your steak is, + chopped garlic (largish pieces, you want them to stick in the steak, if you score it the way I do) Other is tomato juice & fresh (if available) basil. If not fresh, then 2-3 tsp dried basil.

It's a deficit of 3500 calories over a preset length of time to lose 1 lb. If your maintenance calories for your weight are 1700 calories/day & you eat 1200 a day, after 1 week you should lose a pound (500 calories less per day times 7 days = 3500 calories less). That's the very simplistic explanation, & there are other…

Just had salmon at my mom's tonight, but not very exciting, I'm afraid. Salt, pepper, fresh lemon juice& a little butter, then baked for 20-15 minutes. Not exciting, but tasted really good!

Looks great. Any idea how long they keep, or would you freeze whatever you don't use in a day or 2?

you're already done I guess, but I also use it for pork fried rice, or a panzanella salad (although both have carbs, & I don't know how many you have to work with...)

parmesan lemon tilapia, roasted spaghetti squash with homemade (tomato) gravy, possibly some rice or polenta, salad.

Herb ox makes bouillon (sp?) packets that are "sodium free" - 10 calories, but very flavorful. Mix in the water when you make your rice. If you like butter, use a dab (ie, tsp in a large quantity), butter buds (don't know the sodium on that) or butter flavored spray. Also -- garlic powder, onion powder, or spice of choice…

Blueberries do it too...

I love the greasy, salty fast food places -- all of 'em. I know I can "work it into my day", but right now, the calories aren't worth it. For example, Saturday I will be taking my daughter shopping, & I know we're going to have lunch at the food court. We're probably going to Wendy's, because it's the best choice available…

:) :D :p Thanks for the laughs, really brightened my morning!!!

My husband belongs to a men's gourmet cooking club, & after dinners, if there's food or ingredients left over, they're allowed to bring it home. Monday's dinner included spaghetti squash, & apparently that was the only item left over, so he brought 2 home for me. :) He knows I love it, even though he's not fond of it…

I just ordered the thin mints, pb sandwiches & a lemon one that's different than the one you listed (different councils have different options -- only the thin mints, pb sandwich & trefoils MUST be sold, others are choices), after checking out the calories. They will probably go in my freezer, to be doled out individually.

The only Chex that are NOT gluten free are the wheat chex & multigrain chex. I'm pretty sure the rest are--I buy them for my celiac daughter. She sometimes snacks on that instead of chips/pretzels (GF, of course). Fruits, veggies, cheese sticks, yogurt (as long as you can have dairy!), nuts (calorie dense, so measure…

I don't think so, but when I wake up earlier, I'm hungry earlier, so tend to snack more. My job shift starts anywhere from 7am to 830 am, & when I have to be in at 7, I'm hungry by 8. If I get in later, I can push off breakfast til 9 or 930 (always eat @ work, just have coffee on the ride in). Love the weekends (every…

Out of curiosity, do you exercise regularly? I usually manage 3x week, 30 minutes, but I want to increase it. How does TDEE allow for that, or do you have to consistently exercise, etc?

I pre log breakfast & lunch, & sometimes snacks b/c I bring my food to work with me, so I have to prepare it the night before. If I forget to prep it, I have a few things in the freezer (egg sandwiches, boca burgers, etc,) that I can grab on my way out the door (I leave anywhere from 6:15-7 am). If I don't eat something…

We still have some leftover Christmas cookies, & I've been allowing myself 1 or 2 a night (all planned), but have been finding myself wanting more. I keep them out for my daughter (24 yo, but mentally about age 5, because she knows she'll get a cookie after eating her dinner.) I may go put them in the downstairs freezer so…

I have a daughter with diagnosed celiac disease, so I get the "gluten is the devil" idea. I also have a friend who was not diagnosed, & recently met another woman who has not been diagnosed, but who both feel the effects within 12-24 hours after eating it. (one has stomach issues, one with inflammation/arthritis). Skipping…

yes. I've used the recipe builder, & sometimes edit the recipe based on the total # cups it made, making the default serving 1 cup, then charging myself 2 servings for 2 cups, etc. You could do that with weight, ie, weigh the empty pot/saucepan, cook your meal, then weigh it again. Difference is the weight of the whole…

Peanut butter on sliced apple, canadian bacon (1 slice = 20 cal) on toast. When I make oatmeal, I stir in 1 or 2 tablespoons of PB2 to give it a protein punch. Mostly I have egg whites or egg beaters with low fat cheese -- I have to have a high protein meal in the mornings, especially when I eat early. FYI - If you're…

Pierogies, boiled then sautéed with a little butter and onions, topped with applesauce & ff sour cream. Green salad with olive oil & balsamic vinegar, & green beans on the side of the pierogies.

I went to one in Philadelphia, but that was a few years ago.

I don't know where you live, but there is a group that has "Gluten free food expos" at various big cities across the country. We went to one about 4 months after she was diagnosed. It cost about $20 each, but they had food demonstrations and all kinds of vendors with samples, which helped weed out the good from the okay…

Adapting a chicken potato& vegetable recipe from kraft (don't want carrots, using green peppers and mushrooms instead) & don't have their bottled salad dressing, using some sugar free balsamic & some olive oil for that instead. Have to go start it now!

Last night, there were some leftover Christmas cookies staring me in the face. I had already had my allotted 2 (travel day yesterday, so food choices were somewhat compromised, but still within my calories), & I had to remind myself I wasn't hungry, in fact I was pretty full, & that they would be there tomorrow. Sometimes…
