I read, or watch TV. Make a cup of tea, & drink it slowly. I used to do cross stitch, & the good thing about that is -- you couldn't eat while doing it!!

Add some chopped scallions too--mmmmm. Would be a good addition to when I make stir fry, too (just wouldn't make all of it, maybe 1/2 ), since my hubby likes to get wonton soup & egg rolls from the supermarket when I do stir fry. This would be a lighter option

Mine was last night. 2 hrs of free open bar, so I had a few things I don't normally get. Ignored the pasta & pizza stations, the sliders & mashed potato stations, did have the roast duck & a couple of pieces of cheese, (& other stuff!) in addition to a couple of tiny pastries & a chocolate/mini m&m covered pretzel log. Also…

Unless it's the info for the yolk only -- all the protein is in the whites

Whenever we've been on vacation, we always check the ice cube bucket when we come back. If the cubes are sticking together, there was possibly power outage (some melting). If you have a block of ice, you lost enough power for them to melt altogether, & everything else may have defrosted. We lost power for 3 days after…

Thanks for the answers. Like I said, I'm not making them, so I can't answer for the oil. I did enter the recipe, & I think it came to 84 calories pre-frying--so maybe I'll enter one as 150 calories & call it a day. That, a stuffed mushroom & a couple of verrry thin slices of salami will be my treats for the day, along with…

I love it !! That's getting copied into a memo on my phone so I can see it when I start to weaken.

A colleague just gave me a box of candy. It's a Christmas present/ thank you for help throughout the year. She's a lovely person, so I certainly wasn't going to say -No thanks, why would you give me this?? I just have to figure out where it's going to go so I don't go crazy. Until I open it, I'm ok. After that, they call…

There is a chicken with mushrooms in white wine sauce recipe somewhere on the blog section of this site. I modified it (won't be serving with noodles, using dried thyme instead of fresh tarragon--personal preference, & plain white mushrooms). Planning on making it for tonight's dinner, with brown rice & spinach.

Completely off topic, but how do you put the little tracker in your signature? (MKEgal)

My comfy sweat pants, (tight a month ago), slide down a bit now (not off, but definitely noticable to me!). Also, a pair of jeans that I could barely sit down in last month are comfy now.

I not only ate them (although I didn't want to after I opened the package  ), I made my children eat them that night too! Child abuse!!

I made beef stew tonight. After it was cooked, I measured it (I have a 12 cup measuring/mixing bowl). It was 8 cups, so 1/4 was 2 cups. If it's not easily divisible (ie, a square or round casserole dish) where you can make cuts for the number of servings, measuring by weight or volume is the only way to do it.

Christmas Eve will depend on what my husband & daughter decide--last year they made mushroom ravioli!! (2 kinds--daughter needed gluten free). Christmas day is at my mom's--she's making roast pork, with mashed sweet & white potatoes, applesauce, stuffed mushrooms & sugar snap peas. Also starting with an antipasto platter…

i don't have a downs child, but my elder is special needs. My younger daughter (now 18) was diagnosed with Celiac disease 3 years ago. Luckily for us, it was diagnosed within 4 months of symptoms, but those months were hell for her. Once we knew Gluten free food was her only option, we made the decision to accomodate her…

You can track 5 macros on your daily page, & change them at any time. I think default is prot, carb, fat, sugar & sodium, but you can swap them out for others.

Cookie baking took on a completely different feel after my daughter's celiac diagnosis a few years ago. 1) If I bake non gluten free cookies, I must be extremely careful when I bake--flour cannot go everywhere, I have to be very diligent about cleaning it up, & making sure it doesn't settle on everything in the kitchen. 2)…

quick & dirty analysis -- looks like it makes 4.5 - 5 cups, so just over a cup.

chop an apple, spoonful of splenda, some cinnamon/other spices to your preference. Pop into microwave for 3 minutes. Open a 1/2 whole wheat pita, bake in toaster oven 5-10 minutes. Healthy apple pie!!!

I love cooked oatmeal, but it doesn't have enough protein to carry me through the morning. Today's was 3/4 serving oats (30g), 1 container dannon light & fit toasted coconut vanilla greek yogurt, & 1 snack container cherry mixed fruit, with a dash of cinnamon. A little too high in sugars for what I usualy allow, but I…

I like the looks of this one. I can't use regular cream soups (daughter is celiac), but have had some luck using the Progresso veg classics mushroom soup -- would just use less water for the rice to begin with, then add if I needed it. Also -- since I'm not a fan of frozen peas, & don't always have them in the house, I…

It's very good & quick to do. Save as recipe, then you can always add it.

Smothered pork chops with thyme (myrecipes.com, 145 cal!!), sweet potato, green beans & tomato/cucumber salad

If it's only going to be a salad -- plenty of greens (field greens or at least romaine, if they have it, not iceberg), any raw veggies I like --carrots, broccoli, radishes. Some form of protein, usually beans- 1/2 cup. Olives cause I love them! Usually not cheese, b/c it's a little too high in fat for me, unless there's…

It's easy @ work, since I fill up a 32oz cup & drink it sitting at my desk before lunch. I try to drink at least 1/2 a second one before I leave, then some @ home. Days off, it's harder, because I'm not in one place all the time, so I forget.

PIZZA-- 1/4 of a DIGIORNO RISING CRUST 4 CHEESE for approximately 500 calories. It's my splurge, & I'm compensating by eating low carb/ low fat for the early part of the day.
