  • I've cut down a lot on bread. Not just because of carbs, but most breads are high in sugar (sneaky!) and don't have a lot of nutrients. Also makes me tired when I eat too much bread.
  • Hi, I'm a HUGE music lover. Love all types of rock, metal, grunge, alternative and 80's hair bands. Right now I'm digging The Pretty Reckless and Fall Out Boy, but my all-time favorite band is Def Leppard. I used to be cool about a million years ago too :) Feel free to add me.
  • I feel your pain! I'm currently a size 16 (down from an 18W!) and some of my shorts are too big but 14's squish my foo-pa too. If you feel like sewing you can always take a tuck in the waist or if you hate to sew like I do, get a safety pin to hold the tuck together. Just remember to take out the safety pin before you wash…
  • That's awesome that you've lost 41 pounds! Sounds like you are determined to get healthy and I applaud you for that - it's the best reason for losing weight. I'll send you a friend request.
  • I'm a big fan of Mio and water enhancers in general. They generally add less than 10 calories to 16 ounces of water. So yes, go for it! I'll probably get some flak for recommending artificial sweeteners, but I'm a tough chick so I can handle it :)
  • Trog. Just awful. Joan Crawford starred in it, still rocking the heavy eyebrows. Makeup was terrible, acting even worse. But still worth watching. Also The Village and Lady in the Water, both from M. Night Shymalan (spelling?) were just so painful to watch. By the time you go to the "twist" you just didn't care anymore.
  • Just sent you a friend request :)
  • I just saw this one posted on my Facebook feed. This quack doctor is pushing his "protein shake" that will "force your body into burning fat effortlessly" (which is a crock of ****). SMH, another Dr. Snake Oil. http://www.getrealmealgf.com/k/real-meal/how-to-find-the-best-protein-powder
  • You can't lose weight after 40 no matter how hard you try. Wake up, I'm 47 and I've lost 16 pounds in the last three months using CICO and exercising 5 or 6 times a week. Mind blown yet?
  • Hi all, as of today and nearly 90 days in, I've lost 15.6 pounds! I'm also exercising about 6 times a week. I'm really enjoying kickboxing and learning to tolerate pushups and planks. I'm at the lightest I've been since 2006 and probably in the best physical shape of my life. Even getting my very sedentary brother to…
  • It took me three weeks for the scale to budge. Your body needs time to adjust to your new eating habits and exercising. I've "only" lost 13 pounds in two months but I noticed my clothes fitting better first before I saw the scale budge a pound. It will happen for you, and once it does the pounds will seem to melt away.…
  • Try dating when you are over 40, have a teenager and have been divorced twice. The creepy and the strange men online just seem to be attracted to me like a moth to a flame. I've been on some bizarre dates with men who seemed nice enough over the phone and through texts who then turn out to be completely different than what…
  • I totally agree! Got sucked into the whole quinoa tastes just like brown rice but it's better for you fad. Bought a box, made it, tasted it, gagged, and threw the rest in the trash. Also gluten free pizza crust from Tastefully Simple. It was gummy, flavorless and tasted like I was eating paper. Ugh.
  • IMHO you can get a good gauge of hunger about 20 minutes after you eat. If your stomach is rumbling and you really feel hungry after that time, eat a small snack. You shouldn't have to feel like you are starving.
  • I'm so glad all of you posted! I'm feeling the positive vibes among everyone. Let's all give ourselves a big round of applause
  • This picture of me taken in August 2014. Ugh, probably about 227 lbs. Didn't start seriously trying to lose weight until 2 months ago, now down to 216, still a long way to go, but feeling so much better and much more active.
  • It takes time to see the weight come off. Don't get discouraged! I didn't see any weight loss at all for the first 3 weeks. I'm a single mom with a 13 year old daughter who is naturally thin and lately has become an eating machine, so I know how difficult it is to buy good, healthy food for your family that they will…
  • I'm 47, single mom and have been overweight most of my life. I've been on this site for 50 days now and while it wasn't easy to log every bite of food in the beginning, it's become habit. I've lost nearly 9 pounds so far, lost a boyfriend who wasn't supportive of me, and gained a new respect for myself. We can do this!…
  • I'm a single mom to a teenage daughter, and I find the time by scheduling it on my phone as if it was a doctor or dentist appointment. I set it to go off about 15 minutes before the start time so I can finish up what I am doing and get ready to do my at home workout. Remember, the cleaning or picking up can wait for a half…
  • If you want to lose 20 pounds in 6 months I'd set your goals to lose 1 pound a week. So that's about a 500 calorie deficit, which is about 1600 to 1800 calories a day. 1200 to 1300 usually makes you feel deprived and hungry, which is not a good thing. I hope this helps :)
  • I actually lost 2 pounds over the holidays. I was logging every day, and the days I went to a buffet dinner I ate very lightly until dinnertime, then figured I would eat about 1200 calories for dinner. I was still under my calorie limit for that day though. I was also doing cardio kickboxing nearly every day so I'm sure…
  • I still haven't bought the assortment, but you've made me want to try them, seltermint!
  • I love dogs, but living in an apartment and working 10 plus hours a day is not ideal for a dog, so my daughter and I adopted a cat. She's pure white, looks like an angel but acts like the devil lol. But seriously, I wouldn't want any other cat. She's a cuddler when she wants to, playful and has some cool cat-a-tude.
  • I'm 47 with a skinny teenaged daughter who can eat what she wants and doesn't gain weight. So no real support from her. Feel free to add me - I get lots of support and motivation from MFP friends on here.
  • I've lost 8 pounds, 42 more to go. Feel free to add me :)
  • Think I'm going to go on Amazon or ebay and order the assortment of 18 flavors of Japanese Kit Kats. Not so sure about wasabi flavor though.
  • Did you know there are over 100 flavors of Kit Kats in Japan? Some sound yummy like green apple but some are just plain weird like Baked Potato or Cherry Blossom (not kidding).
  • Hi, I've been on here for 40 days and have lost 8 pounds so far. I'm 47 and have a teenage daughter, so I know how hectic the evenings can be. I've gotten lots of great encouragement and support from everyone on here. Feel free to add me. Together we can do this :)
  • I always lose weight in my breasts first. My mother was the first to notice that yesterday. I'm currently a 40C and I've lost 8 pounds, so I haven't gone down a cup size yet, but I can fasten the bra in the third hook instead of the first hook now. But as many posters have said, it's all genetics really. If you can, go to…
