  • I’m in the mix...going to be 53 in a few days. Lost a lot of weight back in 2015 then I stopped logging in 2016. NowI’m at my heaviest weight ever and I feel fat and ugly. Looking for some friends to help me get back on track.
  • Quest bars are horrible in my opinion. They have a weird flavor and aftertaste. I really like Larabars. They come in a variety of flavors, are made from all natural ingredients and have no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners. Larabars are vegan, gluten free, soy free and kosher.
  • I love Larabars too! Cashew Cookie, Cherry Pie and Peanut Butter Cookie are my favorites. Only 190-230 calories per bar, and they are vegan, gluten free, soy free and kosher.
  • I really love Noosa tart cherry or raspberry as a dessert, because it's made with whole milk and has 280 calories for 8 ounces. But as a normal go-to yogurt, I prefer Dannon Light Greek yogurt in strawberry cheesecake (80 calories for 5.3 ounces) or Muller Greek 100 Corner mixed berry or strawberry.
  • I agree, maybe add some light hand weights (1-3 pounds) when you walk and swing your arms a little more. The resistance from the weights will help. You CAN lose the weight after menopause, but sometimes it seems like it's at a glacial pace. I've lost 25.5 pounds in the past year and went for several months losing and…
  • You can get in a good workout with some light hand weights and a yoga mat. I recommend Daily Burn True Beginner if you're just starting out. I did that a few times a week when I was first starting out and I had a grumpy downstairs neighbor who complained all the time about noise, but she didn't even notice when I was doing…
  • Has found her noobs and is no longer accepting new applicants. :) --- I'd like to volunteer as a mentor. I've been faithfully logging on MFP for 415 days and have lost 32 pounds. About me: 48 years old, female, from SE Pennsylvania, about 30 miles from Philadelphia Starting weight: 228 pounds and size 18W, aka "plus size"…
  • Godiva chocolate pearls. They come in a little flip top tin that fits in my car's cupholder.
  • My fiance will ask me if I ate all my food for the day because he knows how stressed and frustrated I get if I don't eat enough. He also said I eat like a bird and that I am perfect just the way I am, even though I want to lose about 20 more pounds. Love that man so much!
  • I'm at 393 days and counting. Have lost about 3/4 of the weight I wanted to lose so far.
  • Please don't give me flack until you read my entire post. My mother is a Herbalife distributor and she gives me the French Vanilla shake mix for free in exchange for me being her chauffeur, grocery person, handy person, etc. Normally the canister retails for about $40. I drink a shake for breakfast a few times a week…
  • Flavored seltzer or tonic water. Blech! Also caramel or chocolate flavored "light" yogurts. Just...no. I like whole milk yogurt such as Noosa.
  • Hi, I'm 48 and been on MFP for a little over a year. I've lost 31 pounds so far and I've got about 19 more to reach my original goal of losing 50 pounds. I'm an active poster on on MFP, post a couple of blog posts a month and am there to support my friends. 382 days straight of logging food and exercise. I went from being…
  • Here's a helpful link you might want to read. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10202381/weight-loss-scams-and-how-to-spot-them#latest
  • This is going to sound harsh but Hydroxycut or Garcinia Cambogia really don't help with weight loss. The way to lose weight is eat less and count calories. There is no magic pill or shake that will speed up your weight loss.
  • I've never tried raw oysters or raw clams which is surprising since I live so close to the ocean. Have no plans to ever try them. My fiance has never tried yogurt. He says he won't try it until I try a raw clam so I guess he won't be trying yogurt then :)
  • I went from 202 to 196 overnight! Haha, not really, just had a scale that was weighing me 6 pounds too heavy for months, so I kind of missed the thrill of seeing that number go to 199. I started a year ago at 227, which was my highest weight ever, and I am so glad I did. You can do this everyone! So happy for all of you…
  • Here are two of my experiences with stupid diets: When I was in college, I read an article in Redbook about a "miracle" ice cream diet. Essentially, it was a typical restrictive diet of grapefruit, egg whites, celery and the like, but you were allowed one tablespoon of ice cream a day to "help you feel like you aren't…
  • Consistency is really important. I've logged my food every day for 368 days now. Record the good, bad and ugly days of eating. It will help you notice what your triggers are and what times of day you are most likely to reach for a snack out of boredom and not from hunger. Keep a water bottle at the ready when you want to…
  • My #1 tip is two-fold: don't deprive yourself and plan ahead. You CAN fit sweets into your meal plan if you account for the calories. You also can fit going out to restaurants into your plan if you look at the menu online and decide what you want to get before you go. When I was first starting out I also pre-measured my…
  • My fiance actually told me that I was tiny and petite. I've still got about 24 pounds until I reach my goal weight, but I've NEVER been called tiny in my life, even when I was a kid. Love that man :)
  • Add me, I've logged in for 341 days now and have lost 25 pounds. My diary is open to friends.
  • I got 17.5% smaller and Perfect Pear. I liked that quiz!
  • I had what I thought was a binge day yesterday. I actually only ate 500 calories more than I would normally eat and I still did not exceed my calorie goal. I even got the ice cream out of the freezer, thought about eating a lot, then put it back in the freezer without dishing up even a single spoonful. But oh boy I was…
  • I've been logging for 331 days now and have lost 25 pounds. I've had my ups and downs and plateaus, but I continue to log even if I'm over my calories. I started out tracking absolutely everything but now that MFP is a habit I no longer log water, mints and some condiments. It does get easier with time and getting into a…
  • Try a tankini. It's two pieces and the bottoms give full rear coverage. Kind of like wearing a tank top and briefs or boyshorts in the water. I have two that I just bought this past year and I love them! They also give you the convenience of a bikini but the coverage and camoflage of a tank. You can also get them with…
  • It sounds like fun! If you can look at some of the buffet menus that are onboard it will give you an idea of how/what to eat and when. These might be available on the cruise line's website. They may even offer some healthy alternatives, since a lot of people are more health-conscious these days. Plus you could also write…
  • You can manually adjust your fat ratios in settings. You also don't have to track fat if you don't want to.
  • You can do it! Menopause (or mental pause as my grandmother used to say) just means that you'll lose weight a little slower. I'm 48, been in menopause for two years and have lost 24 pounds in 10 months. I probably could have lost more weight than that in a shorter amount of time but I set my goals at .5 to 1 pound a week.…
