  • Oops... just realized I put 2 of the same squat videos. Here's a back view, as I think this was a request earlier in the thread. https://youtu.be/wqavgJnSCKw
  • 1. What's your weekly bench press volume at the moment? If you mean how much do I bench in a week - I alternate between Workout A and Workout B, and do bench during Workout B (3 workouts per week), so that means it's either 1s or 2s a week (alternating). It's 3 sets of 5 reps working sets for each Workout B. 2. How many…
  • Yeah, sometimes it feels like the biggest problem is just the anxiety and fear of lifting heavy weights. And yet, I'm not quite sure how one is suppose to get over a mental block yet. Guess it doesn't help the fact that I'm almost always lifting with no spotter.
  • Hi All, As promised, I did my best to incorporate all the advice I got... and have more videos, would appreciate any further feedback. Squats: I'm actually feeling really good about squatsright now. Put a lot more emphasis on a tighter core (especially at the bottom). https://youtu.be/zn2Y0o8N5C4…
  • Wow, thanks. I'll try to implement these changes over the next couple of weeks, then take a few more (hopefully better) videos. Okay, I'll take a second look at my deadlifts ;). Thanks all!
  • Yes, that should be 3x5.
  • Yeah, I've been trying to focus on keeping a tighter core and back for all my lifts. For Deadlifts, I'm actually following the Starting Strength guidelines, where if I understand correctly, you shouldn't start with a squat. ... What I'm thinking to do now is to de-load again, and put a lot more emphasis on core stability,…
  • Okay, to be completely honest, it's not exactly 1 specific program that I'm following 100%. But basically it's a Starting Strength/Stronglifts program with very minor tweaks. Instead of doing Pendlay rows (due to some discomfort in the shoulders), I've opted for T-bar rows, the closest alternative I could find. I also…
  • OK, here are some videos. Sorry about some of the angles, I know they aren't that great, I'm going to see if I can take some better videos. Squats: https://youtu.be/52Kj-W7I1xs OHP1: https://youtu.be/P0po1kCLwW0 OHP2: https://youtu.be/JwTzS3lAFlY Bench: https://youtu.be/jp1hP6-YQCs Deadlifts: https://youtu.be/uahR6wZFRsE…
  • Wow, I've seen lotsa Untamed Strength vids, can't believe I missed this one, thanks. 3 times per week, and resting between 2 to 3 minutes between work sets. Yeah, I've been meaning to create a video to post on these boards for form checking, I think I'll do it during my next session. Guess this would make it easier to give…
  • To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what my maintenance calories are, I just know for a fact that I haven't gained or lost weight for a while now. My best guess is around 2200-2300 calories. My macros, I make sure to get minimum 130 grams of protein per day, and the rest I don't really track.
  • To be honest, IMO I think there are multiple issues here. Like I said, I'm sure I can squat more than 95 lbs, I'm just being really cautious with squats cuz that's the one I struggle with most (maybe I shouldn't have said 95 was my max). The problem that I wanted to discuss in this thread is the fact that my other lifts…
  • Yeah, I do have a bit of a trouble history with squats. I can actually do more, but I'm taking it extra slow with squats right now due to various form/flexibility issues, and some problems with the knees. The personal trainer was actually a power lifting instructor, but the gym is quite far from me, and a session isn't…
  • In general, during the day? No. And even during the workout, I wouldn't describe it as pain really, but it just feels like my arms are doing a lot more than they should be, which puts my elbows under a significant amount of stress. Do you think I might be compensating with my arms for the lack of strength elsewhere?
  • Wow, that was a quick reply. So basically for my lifts (specifically bench and OHP), usually as I approach the above weights I can't go to 5 reps anymore, I have to stop at 3-4, especially on the last set, due to too much stress on the elbows, and just plain fatigue in my biceps/triceps. And every time I deload (I've done…
  • Hi, I'm a beginner who recently gotten into compound lifting (squats, bench, OHP, deadlifts). I progressed linearly for about 2 months, but now I'm plateauing pretty noticeably for bench, OHP, and rows, even after de-loading a few times and trying to progress with micro-plates. I've had my form checked by a professionally…
