increasing the cost through taxation wouldn't do precisely what you're talking about though. It would reduce consumption without eliminating it entirely. The money raised from such a tax should be used to mitigate negative externalities, mainly, pay for public health care.

i'm being treated for a lower back condition, lumbar facet syndrome, and deadlifts put too much stress on the facet joints in the spine. They said I can start doing deadlifts and squats again in a few weeks, but they're trying to strengthen my abdominal muscles and shift my pelvis into a more forward tilted position.

I have a ton of clothes I can’t fit yet from when I was thinner several years ago. I’m probably another 30 pounds away from sizing out of my smallest stuff. Fortunately, I buy clothes regularly anyways, so I just buy stuff that fits, then wear it until it doesn’t.

you don't typically eat a salad with a side of fries. If you can make a meal out of just the Big Mac, more power too you. 550 calories for an entire meal is hardly gluttonous.

if you drown them in full-fat dressing they can. the McDonald's Southwest Salad, the only one they sell here, is only 550 calories though, including the fried chicken breast and the included dressing. So it's not the worst. You can cut that down a lot just by getting grilled chicken instead.

yeah, i don't think there was much doubt that it worked. I lost a fair chunck of weight on it as well when I was in the military, right around the time it was banned as a matter of fact.

About once a month now I'll go to McDonalds and get a 10 piece nugget. No fries. Just 1000 calories of nuggety goodness.

seconded. I've hit plateaus twice in the last 4 months, and both times it was because I got lax in my measuring. As soon as I tightened up my counting, the weight loss resumed IMMEDIATELY.
