Half a pint of S'Mores Halo Top ice cream. very not paleo, very not concerned at all.

this. There's literally an election next year where the entire House of Representatives and 1/3 of the Senate are up for reelection.
-
it's not really a conspiracy. Republican politicians have spoken repeatedly about wanted to turn over public land to private companies. They don't even try to hide it, for them it's a core belief, and one that their constituency seems to agree with. They're completely open about their belief that the government shouldn't…

The myth that fit, attractive people must barely eat and never indulge in junk food is part of the reason so many obese people think its impossible for them to get fit. It’s a toxic lie we tell ourselves to justify our own weakness.

1500 is still deep in a deficit, so you'll be absolutely fine. Will it work better than eating the same number of weekly calories spread over all 7 days? unlikely.
-
the balance is fund them fully from the top down and don't charge people a nickle to enjoy them. That's the balance.

this is anti-science nonsense btw

worth noting. the trump administration just CUT a massive amount of funding for these parks, hence the need for increased admission fees. This entire scheme is a bid to reduce the number of people going to the parks, let them turn to crap, and then be able to sell off the land to private companies for mining, logging,…

Also I feel like we're not being fair to McDonald's salads here. I love the southwest salad with crispy chicken, and it's only 520 calories including the cilantro lime dressing. You can go even less if you get grilled chicken. It's probably my 3rd favorite thing on McDonald's entire menu, and it's by far my favorite salad…

groundbreaking revelation right here

exactly, especially the lower back. Exercises and behavior changes are very specific to the exact cause of the pain, and choosing the wrong one could make things worse. If I self-diagnosed problems with the disk, and did things suggested to help, I would actually be making things worse for myself.

is it? either way. she's hardly a rail-thin clothes hanger model either, and she probably works out with a personal trainer several hours a day, every day. I don't know why it's so hard to imagine that attractive people still eat bad on occasion. Especially rich ones.
-
wait. Isn't that Jessica Simpson in the ad? she's usually one of the, erm, healthier, looking celebrity women out there. I'd bet she enjoys a good cheeseburger from time to time.
-
yeah, there's 2 sides of the spine you can irritate. If you carry your weight too far forward you irritate the disk, if you rotate too far back you irritate the facet joints.
-
I just started seeing a PT, and they told me my lower back pain is caused by the exact opposite. I have a tendency to push my butt out, all the time. Which is causing irritation of the back of my spine. Our plan for the next 6 weeks is to work on exercises that strengthen my lower abs and retrain my body to rotate my hips…

Now? nope. Ask me again when I'm <15% BF

are you trying to use protein you already have? because Quest makes a protein powder that's specifically formulated for baking. I'd use that.

I would rather live in a society where children are over fed than starve. That's a given. But we're beyond that. I would rather live in a society that takes care of it's children and feeds them the proper amounts of food with real nutritional value. We're well past the point where we should use obesity as a sign of…

If cost is not a concern, then the exercise physiologist would likely make a great coach. However, cost would definitely be a concern. I see an exercise physiologist as part of the treatment for a back injury, they are WAY more expensive than a personal trainer.

I bought a pair of Reebok CrossFit cross trainers, because I'm a huge *kitten* poser like that, and they're actually really incredible to workout in. Like, noticeably different compared to working out in my usual Asics running shoes.
-
My physical therapy session this morning was great. The PT is also a chiropractor, so in addition to stim, stretching, and foam rolling I got my lower back and hips adjusted. I feel incredible right now. I'm very much looking forward to the next 6 weeks of regular treatment.

In what way? The sum of macros is calories. All calories are associated with some macro. Unless you’re only tracking 1 or 2 macros, and not limiting the other(s) at all.
-
Yes. Pigovian taxes work. Junk food has quantifiable negative externalities and should be taxed accordingly.
-
starting physical therapy again tomorrow morning, and I am very excited.

Parting thought. If these people who could "eat anything" and still stay skinny really did exist, and in sufficient numbers that everybody seems to know one, scientists would have rounded up a bunch of them to study by now to figure out what hormone their body was producing that made them that way and bottled that *kitten*…

In a controlled environment most people burn roughly the same number of calories when controlled for size and gender. I’ve never once seen a dietary study where one of the participants had a TDEE significantly higher or lower than the average. The idea that some people just have “crazy metabolism” is pure woo we invent to…

I’m trying to get my insurance company to buy me a more powerful TENS unit, I have a cheap Omron one right now, but I’d really like a Red Dot.

You don’t stim? Oooooh you gotta try it

8 more pounds to be under 230, a place I don’t remember being in at least 6 years, maybe longer.
