I lost with online and then they changed the programme to free fruits and 49 'extra' points a week - my brain couldn't work with that and I was always going well over. I had tried the meetings as well but they were either just condescending lectures or sales pitches. I'm doing much better with MFP

This thread has opened my eyes - I always thought a lot of the tamper proof packaging was a bit excessive, obviously not. The only time I've ever open food packaging in a supermarket was, very rarely, to drink something and then taken the open (or empty) bottle up to the checkout and scan it with the rest of the groceries

Kiwifruit are supposed to be a good source of fibre if you like them - I don't but take an extract capsule called Phloe
-
That just made me laugh given the number of people I know who dip their fries (usually McDonalds) in softserve ice cream

I can't answer the Bluetooth issues but ignore the first day as it would have been bumped in transit etc - it will reset at midnight and you should be good to go tomorrow

Why not just change your MFP settings to kilojoules? 1200 calories a day is just over 5000 kilojoules. The only time I look at calories (using an app converter on my phone) is when reading the boards so I get a better idea of what people are talking about

I'd forgotten the choc milk issue - last time I bought what is obviously intended for 1 person the label said 2.4 serves
-
I was mildly annoyed when I bought a box of muesli over the weekend - since I don't control my portions that well when poring from a box I decided to preportion everything. The box was supposed to give 11 x 50g servings - the box total was 580g so actually either every serve is 58g or there is one small left over 30g serve

Everything in moderation is brilliant but if you have trigger foods it can be difficult. I love peanut butter but know I can't restrict the portions and if it's in the house will make lots of toast to put it on so I don't keep it in the house - most other things I can make fit without issue

The ads probably have a regional bias as well as looking at your online history - I would guess that most NZ users got the ads for jelly tip biscuits/chocolate, since there was a big push for the new release last week
-
I've had days when the ads on MFP are for the new KFC doubledowns - luckily I'm not tempted
-
I tried my first one this morning - double choc. Definitely not for me although it smelled nice when heated - it was just too artificial and left a bitter taste like raw cocoa. I have 2 more flavours to try but am not holding out much hope

Just curious - but were they diagnosed as migraines or are you using the term to describe a bad headache? I only ask because same people use the word migraine to describe any headache and they're not quite the same thing. If you're getting a bad headache (vs migraine) during or after exercise it may be due to dehydration…

Two things - you've noted that you want to look your best for your birthday so when you feel yourself sliding remember that goal and ask yourself "will that extra snack help you get there?". Secondly, if drinking is becoming an issue why not sign up for "Dry July" - its a fundraiser over here in NZ and Australia but there…

I recently went through all of my clothes and moved everything into the spare room. Once there I started the sort and purge - anything damaged or that I would never wear again was tossed, next anything too big went into bags for future donation and stored in the garage, with summer having just finished the summer only…

I only worked out how to change the daily goals on the fitbit yesterday (after having the fitbit for 9 months) so now within about 30 calories of MFP - under settings on the food plan tile you can change the plan intensity to match the goals in MFP. But saying that I still just go by the MFP totals

Just thought - over here we do savoury meat pies and apart from apple don't have sweet pies at all. Any recommendations?

Is Carlo's Bakery the one in the "Cake Boss" tv show?
-
Just curious but is the 10,000 steps you're doing now more than your activity level before you started trying to lose weight? The 10,000 step goal normally marketed is for people not getting a lot of exercise during the day (desk jobs etc) - if you were already moving a lot you may need to set your step goal higher to get…

Had to google sponge candy and discovered its what we call a crunchie bar when its dipped in chocolate or hokey pokey on its own. One of those things we make at school in science but a national treasure when added to ice cream. If you ever make it to NZ ask for hokey pokey ice cream - its vanilla with pieces of the candy…

Now I'm reminded of the seasonal thing I need to add pumpkin spice latte to the list since we'll be there in October. We have Dunkin Donuts at some airports but I don't really rate them so will try the krispy kreme and find a knish
-
. Shaved Ice now definitely on the list - we have nothing like it
-
Does the shaved ice really have beans in it? Sounds very strange
-
We get tobacco sauce here (yum) but are those tinned sausages?
-
Thanks everyone - lots added to my list and I only had to google a few times to work out what something is (probably no to scrapple)
-
It's completely normal to have a big drop in your first week followed by a small gain - you'll fluctuate heaps as you progress
-
I had forgotten New York Cheesecake - and the singing diner sounds fabulous
-
I have a big holiday booked for October and am trying to get at least halfway to my final goal by then - another 8-10kg before I go would be great (more better) and then I plan to reach final goal by the time I graduate with my graduate diploma next April

If you can get up and see others instead of sending emails or phoning - can get better results as well as extra movement
