Sounds like you're doing quite a lot right now. For anything more specific, I'd actually check with your doc, and maybe a trainer. Best of luck!

It's really impressive and well written - but the member isn't on here any more and the post is from 2 years ago. I hope things are still going well for him in his life.

This morning I said NO to staying in bed and got up to do my workout.
-
Nice! It's always better when you make it yourself :)
-
Haha! It's a battlefield, and goldfish are horrible, tasty little mines.

Those pictures are so mean! But they're good I suppose. Make sure you balance it with an old picture of when you felt like you were at a good weight

You said NO to a flake? If I could get a flake in Nevada, I'd say YES to like 3 of them.
-
I said NO to eating the bowlful of Cheese Nips my son handed me. Also, NO to lots of lovely half-melted ice cream when we didn't have power the other day. That was a big deal for me, so I'm sticking it over here.
-
I said NO to stress eating today. It got me yesterday, but not today!
-
I said NO to binge eating a ton of cookie dough. I did end up having 2 spoonfulls, but I saved that until the very end of my baking and then put the rest away and logged the calories. Last time I baked, I had 11! Serious trigger food for me.

Lots of good information, thanks! Now I'm interested in taking glucosamine (I have that shoulder pain too), calcium (I've had 4 children, I'm sure I've been robbed!) and probably iron (I'll ask the doc firs though.)

I'm in Las Vegas, and that's what I tell people to do when they want to go to a buffet. Eat the protein first! Smart woman.

I didn't read the entire above quote. The bold section and the sentence underneath are perfect. Thanks for showing it again, kmdowd1.

It's been an interesting couple of days, filled with purposeful tossing of food (or asking my husband to toss it when I felt like I would sneak a taste on the way to the trash - Read: kids got jr. milkshakes last night as a treat) and I've felt ok about it. Tossing = scrambled eggs or half a piece of toast. Kept = the meat…

That's awesome! I'm going to look further into this. Thanks!

Here's how I see it. In life, nothing is ever 100% this and 0% that. Yes, weight is reduced faster with just food modification (and hey, even faster if you starve yourself! But I digress.) However, including an exercise routine is going to make your body burn (lose) calories more efficiently and help in many other areas…

These all sound good to me! I like tuna and cottage cheese and tomatoes or peas. For breakfast. Sigh, I know.
-
I love the "never eat anything that isn't delicious" idea. I'm already finding that things just don't taste as good when you know you need to log them and are thinking about it.
-
One lady on here used to log her food and then if she had leftovers she would pop them in the fridge for a late night snack - because it had been logged already if she ate it the next night the calories had already been accounted for. I thought that was a brilliant idea[/quote] That IS brilliant!

I actually wish I could do that! My autistic son is deathly afraid of pups, but hey - maybe my fat cat would like the last bit of my pasta ;)

Said no to ramen noodles and had some soup instead for a quick and easy lunch.
-
I say double thumbs up for even having a plan! You're doing way better than that person sitting on their couch eating doritos and chili beans, you know what I'm saying? :) Now that that's out of the way... I have 2 thoughts on this. First, who gives a flying hoo-ha what anybody thinks of you exercising outside? It's your…

Went to a 6 year old's birthday party and said NO to cake, doritos, root beer and a second hot dog. Had one hot dog, blueberries, apples and water instead.
-
I said no to saying No and had a cheat dinner out with the family at Freddy's. Still, only 450 calories over for the day and I was under all week.
-
I said NO to drive thru for lunch. Wanted it really bad too. Came home and had chili and watermelon instead.
-
I said NO to eating more calories at lunch after I'd had an apple and PB2. I felt full, so I stopped!
-
I'm 5'5" and MFP says the same - that I'm around 1200. I've definitely had to change how I eat, but I'm finding a lot of things I really, really enjoy and tend to eat the same thing for 2-3 days and then choose new foods. Always have breakfast and make sure you're having a lot of veggies and lean protein. I've started…

I said NO to the doughnut my husband left sitting in a bag on the table this morning.

Hey there Melanieh541 - if you're eating the right foods, you should be able to have 3 proper meals a day plus snacks and still come in within your budgeted calorie range. That's the hard part, making the switch from what you've always eaten to things that are similar, but better for you. This was SERIOUSLY HARD for me,…

I said NO to cake, frosting and candies as I made a cake for a sweet little 4-year-old neighbor's birthday. I did need to try the frosting to be sure it was ok, but just a dab :)
