  • I have no idea. It's nearly 1am here and I just skimmed it. Plus I have no idea what you just said!
  • Look, daily suggested intake for a woman = 2000 for a man =2500 As long as you are eating below these and exercising a bit (recommended 3 times a week) you will lose weight. Any medical profession will tell you to stay above 1200 cal. After that what does it really matter :)
  • http://www.nia.nih.gov/newsroom/announcements/2009/05/study-shows-metabolic-adaptation-calorie-restriction Actually... "researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, LA, have shown that when people significantly reduce their calorie intake, they undergo a metabolic adaptation that results in a…
  • The idea of a starvation mode is that your body needs a certain amount of calories to function eg breath, heartbeat, all the essential stuff. If we don't eat enough calories to suffice this quantity, our metabolism slow down in order for the body to store fat to use as extra resources. The basis of no less than 1200 is a…
  • I'm a big carb craver. I love breads and pastas so it shocked me to see just how small say a 100cal portion was... And gave me my lightbulb moment as to where I was going wrong lol
  • Thanks Alice that's really helpful! And tbh, we don't really have running stores in the uk and I don't even know where you'd go to get fitted for running trainers :s
  • And troutsy I live in the middle of a town so it's all well lit and pavements everywhere :)
  • Lol love it hill! Might make that my running mantra! I don't know why I worry what people think tbh lol
  • I eat around 1350 a day and burn between 500 and 1000 depending on how hard I'm feeling like working so you're welcome to take a look at mine,
  • That's a great idea.. Any tips to overcome the nerves of running in public haha
  • My diary is also open :)
  • It's more a case of I don't have much choice lol.. I really what to give it ago but I'm a full time mum and the only time I have someone around to watch my son is on consecutively days :/ frustration.com
  • I thought you might say that lol...
  • Zumba spinning and walking x
  • While on your bike why don't you try standing under as well as sitting down and also doing some jumps (where you stand up and sit down straight away, repeatedly over and over). Also if you want to increase your core strength, try cycling with your hands on your hips or behind your back. You're doing everything right.…
  • Oh yes lol I'm not saying a little treat is bad. I meant in general, if you're calorie intake is low but your total fat/sugar is through the roof, it's not good.
  • That really does :) those are some fab ideas.
  • I give up. You lot are not worth me getting stressed and upset over. I accept that you have your opinions. I've never said to change your opinions. I also said, if skipping breakfast works for you then that's fine, now just leave me the hell alone.
  • Yes... Diabetes, heart disease etc etc
  • I use 30 day challenge app for toning and then normally walk for my cardio.
  • Actually, because I eat at the same times each day, I don't find I get hungry or crave anything other than at mealtimes, which is good I spose. My opinion is based on knowledge from trained professionals and a lot of research into it myself in the past. So please just drop it. I'm sure if newbies are curious about it they…
  • I don't much like the gym but I LOVE spin classes, but I'm not always able to make them so my plan is to buy a spin bike and do it at home :) now that I know I would do every day!
  • http://fitnesshealth.co/blogs/fitness/14112669-best-heart-rate-to-burn-fat Was just reading about this actually and found this interesting x
  • Omg! I have never said to anyone to do as I do have I?! In FACT I said if skipping breakfast works for you then great! I ALSO said that TOAST makes me feel heavy. I was looking for constructive ideas such as those given by melimomTARDIS and others in order to heavy filling, low cal breakfasts! Because you lot can't accept…
  • I will have my opinion because it's based on things I learnt when studying and queries I raised to friends in that fitness profession, and tbh, I think they know what they're on about.
  • No...l I said I was getting fed up of eating toast because that made me feel heavy,
  • That's a fab idea! It's not silly at all. X
  • You can eat anything and still lose weight. But if you are eating food that is high in sugar and fat, you are setting yourself up for some potentially life threatening health issues. The mantra I use is 'lifestyle not diet'. I'm eating how I plan to eat for the rest of my life so I can be as healthy as possible and live as…
  • I never said it was a study. I said it was an article. Also, I'm well aware of how my body works and tbh That discussion you posted doesn't contain much evidence. I have a lot of friends who are pts and I considered it once as well. Eating regularly DOES maintain your metabolism. Fasting or going longer without food…
  • Ok. I can't promise to answer everything but I will try. 1 the way the app works means that a deficit is already taken into account when working out your calories, so effectively you COULD just eat your daily calories and still lose weight, albeit slowly. If you want to tone up I would advise something like the 30 day…
