My sons know and they're really supportive, I haven't told friends, I've just told them I'm not eating bread anymore and when we go out I generally choose salad. I've got a meal out at an Italian restaurant at the end of the month so not sure how I'll handle that!

I'm reading the obesity code at the moment and it's brilliant, particularly about why we lose weight for so long and then plateau, so as a yo yo dieter and someone long past the menopause I'm now incorporating intermittent fasting to speed things up. Tomorrow I won't eat until dinner in the evening.

I like 'Eat Fat' by Dr. Trudi Deakin. It's a step by step guide to low carb living. lots of coloured diagrams which makes it easy to understand. I too like Diet Doctor, some gorgeous meals quick and easy to prepare and I love the way you can type in the number you're cooking for and it automatically resets the quantities. :) I also like Dot2trot, she has a great story really inspiring and she takes you step by step through her recipes. :)

I've used the urine sticks, but for me it's an increase in energy and lack of hunger and cravings that I'm going by. I can't believe how I'm no longer exhausted all the time and popping a ready meal in the microwave because I'm too tired too cook...now trying out loads of new recipes because I love the way lchf food tastes…

I don't look at the calories, just my carbs, and make sure I don't overdo fat and protein. At the moment I don't think I'm having enough protein, so I'm having eggs for breakfast with salmon and cheese or half an avocado. Then making sure I get plenty of chicken or fish at lunch. It's working so far ...albeit slowly :/

Beginning my third week on keto, 4lbs first week, 1lb this week so definitely slowed down. Finally got my ketostix, they've taken just over 2 weeks to arrive, tested my urine and I'm in moderate ketosis which I think is good, now will I get 'large' or will it stop showing in my urine...will see. :/
