Agreed. If you listen to your body and lift responsibly with good form, you can avoid injury. I have never heard of a coach in crossfit who would advise sacrificing good form to get a faster time or more reps in. The timer for most is simply a motivator.

if you have proper form there is nothing wrong with deadlifting, it's a great compoud movement that works multiple muscle groups. Smith machines are generally not a good route in my opinon because it limits ROM and controls the bar for you so you lose some of the benefits to your accessory muscles. I would find a trainer…

There are certain moves in crossfit that could be done in a regular gym and others that could not. My coaches have sent me work outs to do while i'm on vacation/not near a gym, it really has potential to be done anywhere. The olympic weight lifting part of crossfit couldnt really be done at planet fitness when you're…

Hey there! I switched from training mostly powerlifting and switched to crossfit in the beginning of this year. I'm crazy obsessed, I used to be so skeptical about it but here I am going five days a week now :) . Feel free to add me and there's also a group on here just for crossfit.

Your best bet is to get a heart rate monitor, I got a cheap one off amazon for ~$30 that goes through bluetooth to your phone, then automatically syncs with MFP. For cardio it's really the only way to know for sure how much your are burning.

it's bad that my first thought was snorting it...ANYWAY....i love putting it in smoothies with some fruit, water, and greek yogurt. There are also recipes for protein pancakes i've yet to make those yet though. Good luck!

can I just interject and say that this wasn't a short rant at all?

I used to feel like this too. I think it's completely normal and understandable, expecially because some can be very judgemental at the gym (MFP continues to show this through "gym etiquette" and "worst people at the gym" posts). Anyway, I always remind myself that most people at the gym are focusing on themselves.…

I use a derma roller for cellulite and stretchmarks/scars It's worked in reducing my cellulite cause it helps thicken the skin and increase collagen production.

Thats a lot of movements for leg day...you could try the stronglifts app/program. For leg day you could do compound movements like deadlifts, squats, weighted lunges, calf lifts with barbell. Compound movements can work your whole body and also your legs. I would also avoid the leg press it's been shown they don't do much…

it depends on if you're trying to lose, maintain, or bulk. have you calculated your TDEE or BMR to find out how many calories you should be eating? If you're trying to lose you should be eating 15-20% less than your TDEE and pretty much should stick with that number. Going under 100 I would say is fine but I'm not an…

to add to the posters above if you are eating at a defecit and also doing cardio 6x/week too much cardio can sometimes break down muscle. I would eat more and cut down the cardio. Specifically you should find out your TDEE and BMR to find out what your defecit should be. If you're lifting heavy you need to eat heavy :)

I just got the fitbit yesterday but so far I've been liking the Fitbit better. I had an older jawbone so I had to plug it into my phone to sync so that's why I start looking for new options for a tracker. The Fitbit's battery doesn't last as long as the jawbone who's battery last 11 days vs I've heard Fitbit lasts about 5.…

Is there any way you could get out and take a walk on your lunch break? That's probably the only way you could do it if you work from home. Standing while on your computer helps too it might be worth it to get an ergonomic desk that raises, and maybe get a foot elliptical or treadmill. If you can take breaks you could…

Lifting is primarily what I do. When I first started trying to tone up and lose some fat, I would run on the treadmill for 45min-1hr I did this for 3-4x/week for months and saw barely any results. Now I'm working of TDEE, heavy lifting 3x/week and cardio 1-2x/week. And I'm toning up and losing inches, I feel happier and…
