  • I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic several years ago but have since successfully reversed that diagnosis via the way I eat.
  • Meant to post THIS link (LOLZ): http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

  • Rao's mentioned above is good. Bella Vita (slightly higher carb, but better flavor profile) is a good LC choice too. Keep your eyes open at your local stores. You might find some other choices available there!
  • 1200 calories a day is low. If you don't mind me asking @ susanebeat, how tall are you?
  • Keto lifer here. Still going strong early in my 4th year.
  • Simple answer: no. You will find this out the hard way if you ignore the good advice you've received above and try to go without supplementing electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc. Just sayin'....(shrug) :|
  • Unless, of course, you have loads of money to waste (...??!) on something that your body will create naturally and that YOU WANT your body to HAVE to create naturally!!
  • That's not a bad strategy to have considering that it sounds like your immediately environment isn't terribly supportive. But the good thing about MFP is that like-minded members can become a very supportive extended family for you even from a distance! :)
  • Glad you are feeling better @ironmaidenchick! :)
  • @rosalie115 ...and what, pray tell, is it that you don't understand?
  • Now that you mention it @kaye4health ...I recognize your user name. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic many years ago myself (mom IS T2D as was her mom) but I have successfully reversed that diagnosis since transitioning over into a LCHF/Keto WOE/Lifestyle a few years back and am currently no longer considered to be…
  • Keto lifer here with open diary. Knock yourself out snooping! ;)

  • Your electrolytes are out of balance. Culprit is usually sodium/potassium. You still need to pay attention to and work at getting in enough sodium/potassium even on days that you fast (ESPECIALLY on days that you fast)! I make sure to dissolve and drink 2 bouillon cubes every day otherwise I really suffer if I don't. lol
  • Here's another good, short video for you to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNfjkTyBUdQ This was the case for me. I'd never had good/correct/perfect cholesterol numbers prior to switching over to a KETO lifestyle and it took be four (4) years to finally get there because what Dr. Stephen Phinney (the guy in the…
  • I have't made this particular recipe but when a bread recipe, especially a one-minute muffin recipe, contain only a few basic ingredients like this one does, I always find them to be bland to the pint of tastelessness. My taste-buds and mind go, "Meh...why bother?!" I've tried probably half a dozen different OMM recipes…

  • I don't count calories BUT I DO keep an eye on them (heh).
  • I'm only a 1/2-inch taller than you so you're goal is completely within reason! Also, your diary is not open to the public so I couldn't take a look. :/

  • It is NOT only liquids with fat added. You will be eating 4-6 VERY small meals consisting mainly of fat since the goal on a fat fast is to get 90%(!!) of your caloris/energy for the day from fat. Although I've done a few fat fasts, here's a link to one that I haven't done (referring to their menu items here):…
  • https://tryabouttime.com/products/whey-protein-isolate?variant=44710332110 This brand is expensive so I watch for their sales and then pounce! They sweeten their protein powder isolates with stevia so they tend to be only mildly sweet (i.e. the flavors DO NOT kick you in the mouth they way some do). lol 80-90% of their…
  • No, I meant "Wheat Protein Isolate 5000 (WPI 5000)" available at www.netrition.com. Technically, it is a "Frankenfood." Most of the carbs and starch are stripped out of the wheat leaving mostly protein behind.
  • Found this via Google search: https://www.elephantasticvegan.com/nooch-cheese/ Suggest you replace the 1/3 Cup all-purpose flour with perhaps a 50/50 combination of Wheat Protein Isolate 5000 and Pea Protein powder.
  • If it's cheese (the flavor and/or texture) you're craving, suggest you give nutritional yeast a try. Not the same thing, but does a good job (depending on the recipe) of approximately either cheese taste or texture. YMMV.
  • Good rule of thumb to follow which is simple enough to remember is that eating too many carbs and/or sugars will kick you out of Ketosis. So will drinking too much alcohol. Avoid eating to much starch or grain. I'm sure you've heard all this before.
  • That's why I like my Zipfizz electrolyte drinks...they are high in potassium and tasty too! :)
