I'm not huge on the forums, never seem to have enough of time. But I do like my news feed with posts and updates from friends so add a few friends (feel free to add me) and see if that helps.

Sounds like you really have the right attitude - feel free to add me as a friend.

I'm in. My last two weekends have included binges on chocolate and sugar. Put myself back on track on Sunday and looking forward. Back to basics, plan out the day ahead and include some favorites that are healthy but feel like treats. Today I left room in my calories for a berry crumble dessert - felt great finishing up…

Great achievement. I keep telling myself I will try the C25K (couch to 5km) but have been putting it off. I know even 1 min of jogging would be my absolute limit (if that). I'm not sure if it counts as an achievement in the same way but the other day a colleague at work, not someone I'm particularly close to, came up and…

weigh it and log it, count everything it all adds up.

You definitely need to make sure you are not starving yourself as you need to eat the right food and nutrients to make that milk. Another important factor to weight loss is sleep. I know that is a tough one for mums, particularly with a baby. But your body won't do what it needs to do to convert fat to fuel if you aren't…

Piece of cake. As long as I can swim, snorkel, maybe scuba dive / kayak, ... I'm happy. Do you prefer summer or winter?

To lose weight you really have to track your intake and make sure you have a deficit, i.e. you burn off more than what you eat. When I started I didn't even think of exercise I just focussed for a month on healthy food intake within my calorie goal. I travel a lot so don't have access to a gym and the hot humid conditions…

Sometimes it is almost unfortunate that we have the world of information at our fingertips, honestly there is so much conflicting information out there. Personally I steer clear of anything that is the latest fad, and am suspicious of any "Dr" who feels they need to sell me something, or sign me up to something to help me…

Melbourne, Australia - Happy Australia day weekend

Definitely - I love the easy methods of tracking food, simple barcode scanner, ability to copy meals from one day to another, huge database of foods. Makes you accountable to your food and exercise - also like the chat boards, great motivation from MFP friends

you seem relaxed and easy going

I'm just impressed by how much of my shopping bill now gets spent at the fruit and veg market. I barely buy anything at the grocery store, and no longer frequent the 7-eleven for junk food.

Step 1 get yourself a good bra, get a proper fitting in store so you have the right one. I love Berlei bras but always get the assistant in store to check that I have the right size etc. I also have a slightly snug pair of stretch pants that keep all the bits from not wobbling too much. Since I sweat heaps I have a couple…

I'm big on freezer meals, every time I cook I make at least 2 extra portions if not more, makes it so each to prepare lunch, just take a container out of the freezer. Just put 3 portions of a japanese beef curry in the freezer. I have a range of curries that I like - some with meat some vegetarian - most of them east 1 pot…

I think for me it was the realisation at around the day 5 to 10 mark that I felt better. It didn't matter if I was losing weight I actually felt like I had more energy, I didn't feel as tired. I know this is going to be a year+ long journey and it's not the first time I've tried it but I keep reminding myself how good I…

Mountain biking in the Redwood forest in Rotorua, followed by yes a coffee - a genuine quality NZ flat white.

Hey there, I know how you feel. A number of my friends use MFP but they use it to measure their extremely active lifestyles, challenge each other to bike/run further/faster and to monitor their calorie intake when their weight fluctuates up 1kg from perfect. It's the kind of life I would like to have but I have a heck of a…

Hi to Darwin from sunny (or not so sunny today) Melbourne

I do the same thing sometimes. For me it is because my body is not getting enough oxygen, hence I agree with the recommendation that you take deep breaths, I also make an effort to breathe in through the nose (deeply) and out through the mouth. Often when I'm exercising hard I find myself breathing in and out through the…

25kg lost, awesome. Thats where I hope to be by mid 2015! Im another Aussie who made a commitment to myself 2 days after my 42nd bday. I know its going to be hard but I have to do it, I cant keep living an unhealthy life.

I'm fairly new to this too, started two days after my 42nd birthday. I have almost 50kg to lose (that's over 100lbs). So far going great, although the post xmas weigh in tomorrow will tell the tale. Great to have some friends on board - good luck.
