  • Hi guys! I've got roughly 70lbs to lose and I'm in it for the long haul and a healthy lifestyle change! I've been 190lbs for most of my adult life but have recently gained 20lbs since giving birth to my now seven month old son. I'd love some encouragement and to have some friends with similar long term goals that need…
  • Hi ladies! I'm a new mama to a beautiful seven month old boy. :) I'm at my highest weight of 210, though my usual average has been 190 since high school. Feel free to add me!
  • I just want to say that I am cheering you on and that I admire you!
  • I am manually adding! However, I plan to look into syncing it to my account, so that is a great point. Thank you!
  • Thank you so much! That's what I thought but I wanted to be sure. :) I really appreciate it!
  • Thank you so much everyone, so happy to find like-minded people on this journey! I'll be adding all of you. :)
  • Congratulations on your new little one! My pre-pregnancy weight was 194lbs; so I was already overweight to begin with - haha, that's probably why I lost weight .. I had no appetite! :p My goal is 135lbs so we are similar! :) Thanks to a lack of an appetite and healthier cravings during pregnancy, I definitely got ahead of…
  • :| I work as a manager of a very busy cafe and I am constantly on the move. I don't count it into my exercise calories. It isn't exercise - it should be counted into your daily expenditure. If it's that physically trying for you, consider it very active (i.e. spending a good part of the day doing heavy physical activity).…
  • Your average work day should be counted into your energy expenditure (lightly active, very active, so on) on your MFP profile. You shouldn't track basic work tasks or life tasks as exercise unless they bring your heart rate up considerably. You burn calories naturally doing everything from breathing to sleeping - it only…
  • I just recently bought the Polar A300 and love it. I used to have the Polar FT4 and it was wonderful for the price and worked very well - but I love the fine tuning that comes with the A300, hence why I upgraded. It comes with a Bluetooth chest strap that connects to my phone, which syncs to my computer for tracking. It…
  • I just bought the Polar A300 and I love it. I spent $129 on Amazon for it. It's waterproof, comes with a Bluetooth HRM chest strap so that it can connect to my phone and transfer the data over to my computer, it tracks sleeping patterns (though I rarely use it for that honestly) and tracks steps. If you're looking for GPS,…
  • I'm lucky to burn 500-600 while cross-training at a moderate to high pace in the gym (elliptical, stairmaster, so on) for an hour. I jog at a 15% incline for ten minutes on average and burn approximately 110 according to my HRM - but I don't hold on. That makes a big difference. As for Zumba, that sounds a little on the…
  • I love going to the gym on a rainy day - because no one else goes. :D It's not raining here, though, but I still plan on hitting the gym later!
  • Our wedding is exactly eight weeks and two days after Valentine's Day. Safe to say, we'll be too broke to bother with it this year. So. Deadpool & The Walking Dead! :D
  • I've been considering a low carb way of eating myself. Though I have been able to keep within my means (calorie wise), I struggle as to where to draw the line when it comes to carbs. It's a slippery slope when I indulge. Also, I have a small gluten sensitivity, so my doctor recommended I cut it down anyways to avoid…
  • Hey gorgeous ladies! I'm getting married in April and have no real hopes of losing weight before then. If I can tone up a bit, I'll be happy, and my average loss is a pound a week so I may be able to get about 12lbs down by then. We'll see! I should have been more aggressive a while ago but c'est la vie. Hindsight is…
  • I, for one, found everything Lyndsey said to be deeply honest and helpful. One of the hardest things about lifestyle changes is being honest with oneself.
  • I am so fed up with wraps and Plexus I could punch someone. There is no magical cure for the bad habits I struggle with and I am so tired of people making excuses for their actions and trying to find an easy way out - ESPECIALLY when they're trying to make excuses FOR me and insist so aggressively.
  • You're never too old! My father is 56 and he had type 2 diabetes and was just over 300lbs. He changed his entire life - he bikes ten miles every morning and ends the day with cardio. He also switched to a low carb, high fat diet (ridding himself of his worst temptations - starchy vegetables, pasta and bread) and had since…
  • What jpsincere said. I personally go to the gym - so I switch up from the stairmaster, the elliptical, the elevated treadmill, the spinner .. I switch it up. If my legs are sore, I take advantage of the battling ropes at my gym. If you're not a gym member, try resting more. Rest is VERY important. Alternate your days of…
  • Go to Food > Settings and look for "Meal Names" and rename as you see fit. :) The calories will still reset for a new day at midnight but it shouldn't matter in the end; if you're eating "dinner" at 8am when you get off and then have "breakfast" at 4pm before you go to work, you'll still be able to track your calories…
  • When people offer tips, but do so respectfully and with good intentions. :)
  • Hi Adam! I'm Krys. Welcome to the community. :) I have three cats, I'm obsessed with the Walking Dead (I will go down with the Richonne ship .. they are meant to be, damn it) and I'd be happy to be alongside you on your journey! :# <3
  • Luckily my dress fits perfectly now after losing eight pounds - I was too afraid to order too small, since the dress was discontinued! You can do it!
  • Snug workout pants, cute tops and a comfortable sports bra make me feel absolutely motivated. I love cute workout wear.
  • I agree with BinkyBonk.
  • I used to have cheat days but now I call them "treat" days. Rather than cheating myself, I indulge on something I've really wanted within my calorie limits and exercise to ensure I stay in the green. I usually eat what I want anyways; I function better without being deprived. :)
  • If you weigh later in the day, you're more likely to be bloated from water and sodium. Typical body fluctuations. I always weigh roughly an hour after I've woken up, after my coffee, before my breakfast. That's just me. Gives my body time to adjust, clear out and relax before I stock up on nutrients. When I woke up this…
  • This is so accurate it hurts. ;)
