Research and pre-logging definitely helps. I also leave myself a little buffer for the weekend. I always have a big meal on Sunday, so I save back about 100 cals a day during the week. Which gives me an additional 600 cals on Sunday. If I know it's going to be really crazy on Sunday, I'll also keep back some of my exercise…

That sounds delicious, but date sugar is still sugar (and a refined sugar, at that). If you're really trying to cut down, you'll need to get used to things that aren't sweet or use artificial sweeteners. If you're trying to cut down on REFINED sugar, then you'll want to use actual fruits -- cut up dates or other dried…

It's normal. If it makes you feel better, look at my weight loss graph. The spikes are every week or so after a particularly salty and/or carby meal. It's just water retention.

This sounds more like a seat angle problem to me. I had a similar issue until I tilted the nose of my seat very slightly down, to ensure I'm riding on my sit bones. It was problem regardless of what I was wearing. Is this a possibility?

Zero. Zilch. Nada. They're a reason not to buy those products. That said, years ago, I was pleased to find out that my OJ was fat-free.

I wear a tankini top and black spandex shorts. No one looks twice. :)

I'm sure it's disappointing to see everyone's opinions. But remember, you'll look and feel incrementally better with every pound lost. So it's not like you'll have to wait for that last pound before you feel good. I've got 20 lbs left (40 lbs gone) and I feel and look great. So take the good advice you're getting, and look…

@NannersBalletLegs -- This happened at our house too. It took 2 months of me just doing my own thing, but now he's on MFP and has lost 15 lbs. I'm so glad and, dare I say, relieved. We were looking at an unhealthy future.

This should always be the first response on every thread.

It's not particularly high. Many would recommend 75% for endurance athletes, and 50% for regular folk. No need to stress it unless you suspect some sort of metabolic issue. As you were. :)

I do lose weight with calories alone, but it's glacially slow. I have insulin resistance, so the exercise helps keep my blood sugar in line. I also have to restrict carbs; same reason.

I'm OK with broccoli alone (raw or cooked), but especially like it on pizza with other veg. Soooo gooood.

I do my planned workout, which often takes me to about 500. If it's a light day, I'll then walk or bike until I hit the 500. I prefer to be able to plan for a similar calorie intake each day.

When you get to the New England sections, I'll join you. :)

Also, have MFP recalculated your calories down now that you've lost some weight? Sometimes it doesn't do it automatically. You can go into your Goals, change your weight loss goal, change it back, and save.

If you haven't added any fat or starch, I wouldn't even count it. It's essentially flavored water.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, there are three basic formats for oats. Steel cut, rolled, and instant/quick cook. I use the first two for different applications. The kids prefer the third, in various sugared flavor combinations.

I'm totally on board with this! Weighing daily really helps me trust the process, even when the scale does crazy stuff.

Workout delayed by eye doc appointment. Bifocals. Edit: But the eye doc flirted the whole time, so that balances out the "feeling old" part.

I'm wearing jeans today that are just a bit loose. Don't think they require a belt, but I had to think about it. In mid-December, I couldn't pull them up past my hips.

I was at a Subway years ago and had an unsweetened iced tea. It tasted a little sweet to me so I asked the employee if it could've gotten mixed up. She said no but then said that they do add a packet of "flavorings" to the unsweet tea. I asked to see it, and right there on the "Unsweet Tea Flavor Mix" ingredients list, it…

There's an entry out there for "Black coffee" with 60 cals. Someone must have put in their black-sweet coffee, so pay attention to which entry you select. This is true for all entries.
-
Black, unsweetened coffee should have 2-3 calories per cup and 0 carbs. Are you using a correct entry?

I can relate. My narcissistic sister has been cruel our whole lives about my weight. Now that I'm losing and she's gaining. I haven't seen her in a while and I'm not looking forward to her reaction.

Just reached my mini-goal! It was to drop into the "overweight" BMI range, which is 207 for me. Woke up this morning at 206.8! Celebratory bike ride on new indoor trainer! Next goal: 199.9. Celebration plans: Sign up for rowing classes this summer!

I hate that. I stopped eating a cookie last week because it was just OK. In the old days I would have eaten it anyway.

Not to get all stalker-y, but I Googled that photo to see if she'd snagged it from somewhere else, and found that she'd asked the same binge question on Reddit, and received the same response. She also complained that she couldn't find a doctor to give her liposuction, and says that she has depression and OCD (untreated).…

I think this is excellent advice. You sound like you're addressing your recovery with intelligence and self-awareness. Wonderful to hear!

It'll be slightly less crisp, but still edible by lunchtime. I try not to pre-dress my salads for that reason. They last longer that way. Enjoy! :)
