  • It's not about eating my calories back its about eating enough to maintain healthy weight loss and keeping tabs on it. I'm working with a personal trainer and a nutritionist which a doctor is not. There is such thing as eating too little which means the body isn't absorbing nutrients and can cause muscle wastage. So while…
  • I seem to be having nothing but trouble. Some days it adds fitbit adjustments twice so I need to manually add calories to my food intake. And they keep asking me to upgrade.
  • Hoping it is fluid but if not I suppose 1lb is no big deal and once back eating at or under my deficit and exercising it will fall off through shock to my body lol. I know from exercising that sore muscles can carry a good few lbs of fluid when I increase weights or do something new x
  • Thank you, to be honest I am taking a diet break so aiming just to maintain at the moment until I feel better BUT still at a deficit during the week. I am amazed at my will power lol I just wanted a fat burger and chips last night but cooked salmon and jacket potato. It is much easier to be strong now the diazepam has…
  • Everyone bangs on about low carb so thought I'd try it as I do prefer proteins. It made me feel *kitten* so think I'll ditch that idea lol might be ok if I sat on my *kitten* all day. When I do my exercise classes (in the evenings, wish they were morning) I stick to a mix of carbs/protein til lunch then a snack an hour…
  • I don't tend to eat many of my exercise calories back. Only up to my MFP limit of 1,680 but usually get 1,500 - 1,600 If I feel like it I may have an extra snack. Tuesdays burn shows as high, 25000 steps including vigorous hand movements because I look after 12 horses for 10 hours so that's 12 stables mucked out, walking…
  • I have defiantly been encouraged to be more active and walk more, Eg walking the long way to places or walking at a brisker pace. I need to stick to a set exercise routine I think and monitor it over the next few weeks. Need to decide how many classes to do and stick to it. Body pump uses weights. Another change I gave…
  • Just checked and fitbit says that 0% of my steps for the days where I input exercise are from my exercise so I assume that it disregards steps taking during the specified exercise times that I input in MFP. Also my steps yesterday are within 200 of what my waist band pedometer shows. Also MFP shows higher calorie burn for…
  • It is just some black current cordial from Tesco, 2 calories per 250ml, I'd drink water alone but struggle to get 2 down litres down.
  • So I spent £60 on *kitten* all? I mainly use it to count steps, the calorie burn estimate is usually slighly lower on fitbit than MFP. Did you read that I DON'T EAT MY EXERCISE CALORIES BACK on MFP because of the overestimates they give. I stick to 1680 regardless of if I have burned 1000 calories according to MFP or…
  • I just followed instructions as I set fitbit up, I can log exercise on both and get the same number.
  • I still stick to the MFP allowance, for example I logged my classes so the fitbit calories adjustment decreased as it didn't count the extra calories burned from the steps I did between 530 and 715pm but still noted how many steps I did. Friday I got an adjustment of 250 calories I guess that is from the brisk walking or…
  • Wednesday some of those steps are from my step aerobics class, I logged the class on MFP and input the time, which adjusted the calorie burn but didn't remove any of the steps I did. I guess I did as many steps but was more vigorous in my activity. I did 45min step with some toning exercises at the end, 45 min body pump…
  • I guess I enjoyed a month of losing quickly but still don't think I look any different when I look in the mirror. Is there any truth in, new exercise programmes can throw you out a little at first? I do weigh daily, so I know it fluctuates but my lowest weight is rarely on the same day but usually a Thursday or Friday…
  • A tip, most guys, even those big into fitness get pretty pissed off with women who go out just to eat a salad or stress over the calories. I had dinner with a man last weekend, he has lost weight in the past and is big into his fitness. He openly expressed that while he understands what it is like while losing weight he…
  • My friends, especially those I don't see regularly, seem to notice weight loss but I can't see it. A gym bunny friend of mine thinks my body shape is also changing. I have lost 8 inches off my waist.
  • So is 7,000 steps a day sedentary? my fitbit adds calorie adjustments if I got over about 6000 on the lightly active setting, adds more if I'm on sedentary. My calorie burn is around 2000 on a day where I don't do anything, between 2,500-3,000 on days where I am active which is at least 5 days a week. I was also losing…
  • I measure everything to the point of being obsessive to some. I try to drink 4 pint glasses of water with sugar free juice day and don't drink tea or coffee. I might treat myself to a diet coke 330ml once a day.
  • Thanks for your help I just needed reassurance I wasn't eating too much. x
  • Anyone?
  • Well, had the weekend off. Stopped stressing about 3 meals etc and was naughty (had pizza and fried chicken) but cut down to prevent a complete binge. I was mindful of what I ate and tried to stick within maintenance calories. Half a pound heavier this morning but I took my eye off the ball on fluid intake and probably had…
  • My blood clot has gone as it now healing from the inside, he says I am healing quickly but now you mention blood pressure I wonder if the increase in blood pressure aggravated the inflammation of my jaw and gum. The pain passed once my blood pressure was back to normal x
  • Had it pulled out, it was quite easy but the dentist mentioned it was a bit inflamed on Monday although healing well. I was told not to horse ride for a week though x
  • Healing nicely but have lost my appetite completely, lost 2lbs since Wednesday. Which is fine short term but I need to get my routine back. I've had a diet of chocolate pudding, ice cream, mash potato and veg. Had chips from the chip shop last 2 nights too as they are soft. I can eat solid food but makes my jaw ache.
  • I am a bit paranoid about dry socket but the hole is red which I assume is the clot that I'm supposed to have. 24 hours on and only pain if I put pressure on that side which I assume is bruising x
  • So the damn thing is out, hospital cancelled again so I went to the dentist and he whipped it out in seconds. I am impressed, so far, very little pain. Had mashed potato, yoghurt and ice cream this evening and no discomfort. My jaw does feel a little stiff, I'm shopping tomorrow so getting some mousses and veg which I…
  • I don't think mine will be cut out, it isn't below the gum but is sensitive so they want to knock me out, my dentist said he wouldn't need to cut them out. Fingers crossed..... Although might do a meal replacement diet for a few weeks if they cut them out.
  • Oh good luck. Sounds like you're thinking similar to me, I'm keen to ensure I don't drop calories too low so I can recover quickly and don't end up just feeling tired. I might deserve some ice cream x
