Maybe the dietitian can help you set up your goals on here when you are in the office. Be sure to ask!

Welcome! I think (this time around), I've learned not to restrict my calories too much, because I always end up binging so frequently it slows my progress. I'm currently losing about .2 lbs (don't laugh!) every week or two and am concentrating on making the way I eat now a permanent habit rather than dieting super low for…

My son hates veggies, too, but he loves blueberry smoothies with banana, plant milk, and greens--He likes kale, but spinach or arugula are other good choices for smoothies. The veggies are hidden. For years I cooked carrots and pureed them into his pizza sauce, so there are ways to hide veggies enough to get them down!

60 and going strong! MFP has changed my trajectory!

It's a great time of year to start--You'll do great!

You can do this!

Way to go!

I'm 60, and while I think it's a little harder, it's not un-doable. I'm maintaining, but feel free to send me a FR if a friend would help.

Me, me! Please feel free to add me too!

I'm not short, but I am a semi-reformed sugar fiend who, at 60, shares your feeling that keeping weight off past a certain age can be a bit more challenging. Like debilang, I had to cut added sugar out completely, because eating any amount leads to cravings for me. I am maintaining a 25lb loss at this point but always need…

Menopause was when I gained the weight that brought me here. The good news is you can lose it and keep it off by logging at a sensible deficit here, exercising, and soaking up support from MFP friends. I'm 60 now and sticking around here to maintain (and correct my all-too-frequent backsliding). Feel free to send me a…

Lots of great advice here already. I've been mostly vegan (always vegetarian) for 30+ years, and in that time, I've been both a slim veg*n and a chubby veg*n. I'm currently maintaining a 25lb loss and concentrating on a whole foods plant based diet, but on occasion I go off the rails with eggs or ice cream or candy, which…

Congratulations on your great loss, and yes, lose the unsupportive friends and keep looking until you find more like the 3 good ones you have! They are out there! Supportive friends are the main thing that motivates me--They are worth their weight in gold! If people aren't interacting with me, I delete them very quickly.…

Welcome! I've been here for 6 years and am mostly maintaining my weight, but it takes constant monitoring, as do my fitness goals. I'm lucky that here I could still go out walking my dog for exercise throughout the pandemic. I gained a little in the first month or two, but with supportive friends I found the motivation to…

You might feel less anxious just sharing posts with a small group of friends than here on the forums. I had 25-30lbs to lose 6 years ago and was getting nowhere on my own, but here, I got them off in just a few months. I've stuck around because maintaining needs constant effort, and I backslide from time to time, but I've…

I think a lot of us are in the same boat, but if you think turning 40 is gross, just wait til you're in my shoes, facing 60! One good thing about not being able to celebrate the holidays this year with family is less food. So I'm getting my running start and re losing the Covid weight I put on *now* . Sending you a request.

I'd prioritize lunch and a walk mid-day. You shouldn't have to work straight through just because you're working from home! Sent you a friend request.

I'm the same age, and it is harder than when we were younger, but it'd doable, especially with MFP's help. I started in 2015 and lost 30 lbs. I've stayed here, maintaining, but I back slid some with staying home due to Covid, a couple of foot/ankle injuries, etc, and am making a bigger effort again. Honestly, the thing…

Hi, Lily. If you log accurately, MFP can really help! Feel free to friend me if you like. I've been here for 6 years, lost 30 lbs and have backslid, especially since covid, so I have 10 lbs to take off again. It helps me to have active friends to boost my morale.

It helps a lot, even now during Covid!

I'm trying to prevent the vascular issues my parents had. I eat whole foods plant based and am trying to stick mostly to the Plant Strong diet. My cardio is walking/running my dogs for the most part. I'm married with 2 grown kids, happy to meet new friends who post frequently on here. Feel free to add me.

5 years ago I was an (old) vegan with 30 lbs to lose, and MFP made it easy. I'm still here and maintaining. (For me, maintaining is the hard part). I try to stick to wfpb but I occasionally lapse with eggs or dairy when away from home. My cooking is very quick and basic. Feel free to add me!

I'm almost 59, and I've been here for 5 years, but it's always good to find new friends in my age range! I keep my friends list smaller, though, only friends who actually interact with me. I'm married, 2 grown kids, house full of dogs, whole foods plant based (but my friends eat all different kinds of diets) and always…

You can do it!

You can do it! I love seeing so many folks close to my age here. I'm almost 59 and have been on MFP for over 5 years, lost 30 lbs pretty quickly, and am maintaining...sort of. I'd like to take off the last 8 or so lbs again. It's very doable, but it hasn't become effortless, at least for me. I'll never forget what a…

I'm another WFPB eater, for 30 years now, and a mom, but my 2 kids are now grown. I also love dogs! I'm always happy to make friends who actually interact with me and others on our posts, because maintenance is hard without a supportive community. Once the holidays are over, I have about 8 lbs to lose again.
