I have been cutting back on simple carbs, but I still eat complex carbs. I did buy some wheat germ and began adding it to my yogurt last week. The change is the amount of protein in my diet. I have never gotten enough protein before and I want to build muscle again so I'm weight training. Slowly. I go to the gym twice a…

Nah, I've had this, (though only the diarrhea part), since I was about 26 years old. It comes and goes, worsens with changes. I'm just looking for others that may have been through this at the beginning of their life/food/exercise changes. How long it lasts on average. What they did to improve it. I don't do hypochondria.…

if i was a kid, i would TOTALLY skip veggies and new foods for fruit!

using the phone to scan and add seems to be the best way. now if only frakking restaurants and local craft beer brewers would tell you what their calories are!

You are right of course. I'm not sure that VA hospitals offer dieticians to any patient that is not diabetic, but I can ask my doctor. I'm a veteran and the VA is my only coverage.

Do not fight, making food a battle is a sure way to create food and weight issues. I always told my kids, "this is a kitchen, NOT a restaurant. You don't like dinner? There's the kitchen, you may make a PBJ sandwich. That is all." Children will eat vegetables in the presence of some sauce or dip of their choosing. You can…

do you know what's worse? watching those alcoholic, pizza cramming, cigarette smoking, drug abusing, carboholics living *kitten* forever in their hugely grotesque obese bodies, going to the hospitals for strokes, diverticulitis, spinal stenosis, heart events, stent placements and seemingly living forever. die damn you die!…

Berries. 1/2 cup of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, is only about 32 calories at the most. Does it have to be sweet? Boredom just calls for munchie things for me. Air Popped popcorn Raw veggies

Doctor doctor doctor doctor doctor doctor . . . ad infinitum! No one here can possibly diagnose or even guess at something like this!!! What if everyone assured you it was low sugar or low protein and you never went to the doctor and it was a Neurological Disorder?! GO, see your doctor! and then come back and tell us you…

Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries! I add 1/4 to a 1/2 cup to my yogurt, adds between 15 to 32 calories and not much sugar. i NEVER EVER buy fruited yogurts anymore!!!

Definitely what muse said. I just bought my first Greek Yogurt, 17g protein in 8oz (as opposed to 10 in non Greek). I add wheat germ and sliced almonds to it. I don't worry about fat, I worry about carbs/sugars. If I'm not burning off the carbs and sugars before the end of the day, THAT is what is staying on my body, ugh.…

Good for you! Our children do listen to us, most especially when we are not paying attention to what we say and do. I'm grateful that my daughter was young during the time I felt my best about my body because she has the most wonderful body image for herself. And this wasn't because I was particularly thin at the time.…

How old are you? Have you recently given birth? Have you had a recent Tubal Ligation or Hysterectomy? Are you in Perimenopause, Menopause, or Post-Menopause? On you on Birth Control or HRT, (Hormone Replacement Therapy)? Have you checked all your meds for a possible link to hair loss? So this was/is my experience: I lost…

When you have a craving, try to examine what nutrients are in the food, maybe there is something your body is asking for like extra proteins, or vitamins. And then again, sometimes a craving is just that, a craving. Nothing nutritious in a twinkie, LOL! If you have strange cravings, called "Pica", (which are not completely…

I did not diet at all during my four pregnancies, I needed to gain weight back then. But I never did that whole "eat for 2" bullcrap either. I simply enlarged my portions Slightly, made sure to eat breakfast, (something I normally do not do), added a snack or two, and ate healthier foods than usual. The pregnancy weight…

Have you spoken with the dietician in your OB/GYN's office yet? I would really begin there because they would have access to all of your health files and know more about you and your baby than we would.

If you need to do alcohol. Single shots of clear unflavored vodka. No chasers except for plain water.

There was a family night out at Islands Restaurant. I saved up my calories for it and only ate 1/2 the burger. I did the same thing the next day and had the other 1/2 burger for dinner. I GAINED TWO POUNDS over the weekend. I love this burger, it's delicious. It made me sad.

I would use that time to take a nice hike somewhere, somewhere pretty. Take your Chicken Craizin Apple Salad, bring a blanket, and make a picnic out of it at a local park. By the time you go back to the house, it will smell more stale than heavenly. Or go mall walking and look at all those clothes you are going to be able…

THIS^ Why are the calorie burn estimates for everything so danged INFLATED here?!!! I have to use other places to estimate my REAL calorie burn.

I never mean to eat mine back, but sometimes after a work out at the gym I am really hungry. *sigh*

Why would anyone think nutella was a health food? silly people. Each serving (2 tbsp.) of Nutella contains 200 calories with 100 of those calories being calories from fat. Although Nutella spread does not contain any trans fat it does contain 3.5 grams of saturated fat per serving. If you were eating a diet based on 2,000…

I would also suggest a calcium supplement and of course drinking Lots of water. She probably experiences thirst with each letdown, it's nature's way of assuring that mothers drink enough to supply their own needs as well as the child's needs. The calcium is because it's difficult to consume enough calcium rich foods…

Does your wife have a lactation specialist she can speak to as part of her health plan? If not, hooking up with a local La Leche League is just as good if not better because she will meet other mothers and receive all kinds of support! Tell I said I think she's great for hanging in there and giving your child the best…

It's a number of trail injuries that have really messed me up. I never rest the injured part long enough and thus the injury becomes much worse and then begins to cause problems for other joints. I had bursitis in both hips since 1988 and did not see a doctor until I began randomly screaming in pain eight years later, now…

I'm under 7 times out of 10, but I'm working on that.
