I did not say at anytime that diet would cure bipolars. It does not of course. What I am saying is: That if you cut fats out of your diet so drastically that you are left with little to no blood cholesterol levels, that your mental health is in danger. This does not follow that ALL mental heath issues are caused by diet.…

Sounds like you are working your way though it. Good for you! So many parents these days won't keep trying simply for the whining that ensues. I applaud any parent who keeps working it! Nothing truly worthwhile ever came easily. 20 or 30 years from now your children will thank you as they raise their own the same way.

I suggest to stop talking with them about this; they are obviously unable to think clearly where weight is concerned. I have found that there are some obese and overweight people who are exactly like the drug addicts I left behind almost 23 years ago. They so cannot stand the thought of anyone getting away from the…

yeah, i feel like i'm getting nowhere, so f*** it today. nothing unhealthy, no huge portions, just that i don't feel like dealing with hunger. i can't properly exercise until the pain is gone. even eating less than 1200 calories i am not losing weight. i only have 425 calories left after breakfast and lunch and a single…

Still more people to respond to. I really wish this place had a like button.

Good plan. I love eating yogurt, it IS live cultured and I have no problems eating more of it!

This all began in 1986, so I have eliminated and reintroduced every food I eat and found no triggers. All I can guess is that food itself is a trigger. I'll check out your book though, nothing ventured, nothing gained! I'm glad you have found what works for you. :D

Call me bad, I'm still avoiding it. My fecal occult card tests always come up normal and my doctor let's me slide as long as they do. I know exactly how a colonoscopy prep goes and to me that is far scarier than having 18 to 24 inches of metal tubing and scope jammed up my *kitten*. Plus I have absolutely no one I can…

These don't improve me or make anything worse, but I really enjoy yogurt, it's a great source of protein, and greek yogurt is low in fat/calories, so it's always going to be part of my diet. :)

I have tried over the years eliminating and reintroducing every food in my diet. I've come up with nothing. My guess is, anything and everything can be a trigger at some point. FOOD is a trigger, LOL! But I am going to take a beer break for a few weeks and see how that goes. From all that I have read, none of these…

I was tested for a couple things when this first began at the age of 26, (i'm 54). Perhaps because I was a 'Medi-Cal' patient, no real great work up was done. I was sent away with one of those "psycho-somatic" type of diagnosis's. You are stressed, relax. Many years later I when I asked the VA for help, I got the same dx,…

OK, well today I am feeling better Thank You Jesus!!! My back still aches, my stomach muscles are sore, but there is no pain, and no more diarrhea. I even had a normal bowel movement this morning. I cannot tell you how much better I am feeling, oh god I spent yesterday crying off and on between the IBS and the pain in my…

I use to live in another neighborhood some 25 miles away and there was a superb French bakery/restaurant there, my goodness they had the most AMAZING baguettes! melt in your mouth delicious! I want one so bad now!

Beer hasn't been an issue before, but I can take a break. I'll be sad, I've become a real aficionado.

i have huge problems with my stomach when it goes empty, duodenal ulcers. so no fasting.
-
i have some fiber tablets in my first aid kit, i'm going to get them out.

eggs. yogurt. meat, but not much, and never more than a couple ounces in a single day. i've had a single ounce of cheese at a time when i have actual hunger pain, but i've had grated cheese on near everything for most of my life without problem. i used to drink whole milk, but have changed to 1% in order to lose the fat…

anyone ever had chills with IBS? took my temp, it's only 99. which is saying nothing really.

I've been looking over a few websites. I can't believe I have to add starches back into my life. *sad*
-
clean that bit of lint out! *giggles*
-
LOL! And that being said, you need a proper pic of yourself to be taken seriously. ;)

I'm glad that I made somebody laugh! It was also a great vent, LOL! Also meant to be an eye opener on the fact that we cannot make ANYONE change. Despite our love for them, and even if they really love us in return. Change comes from within the depths of our soul, it is a strong desire, nay, a NEED. Until someone reaches…

I quit meth over 22.75 years ago. I quit smoking all the time, for months at a time, up to four or five months. I was a non smoker when he met me, I even managed to stay that way living with him for 11 years. Now I'm struggling again. Fortunately we don't live together, it just galls me to see him living on and on and…

It's mostly under control now, I get a flare up only a few times a year, this one happens to suck badly. I do take magnesium, but it doesn't make any difference that I am aware of. I have been taking it for over a dozen years now along with the calcium and D3.

You may not have seen it. I'm a veteran and the VA Hospital is my only coverage, I'm not sure that I have access to a dietician unless I have diabetes. Something I have to check into. I'll be back at the clinic next week for a measles shot, (got a titer check this week). This week I'll ask my doctor if a dietician is…

Immibert, you give me hope, just like Lisa, that this will pass. This is the third week, please oh please let it be the end of it! Like you I am not making poor choice foods, however, Cipher mentions alcohol, and I have to think it might be a trigger. ugh.
-
Thank you Cipher! I do enjoy my craft beers. I'm not a kid, I don't do drunk. I can't drink more than 8oz at a time, but I did have one yesterday with lunch to celebrate my new hair, (dyed it red). I have learned to love the taste of good beer in my old age, lolz. But yeah, it may have triggered it. I use to drink a lot…

Thank you Lisa, it's hearing the experiences that really help me. I knew I wasn't the only one here. I needed to know that this would pass. I hoping for sooner though. Again, thank you!

I agree, whole milk and full fat dairy for growing children!!!!!

oh crap yes, let her eat what she wants for now! those meds, while they are killing cancer cells, kill a lot of other cells and make eating so incredibly difficult. please give her a pass until this whole ordeal is over and she is completely cancer free.
