I'm three weeks in and a complete newbie to barbell weight lifting. I haven't seen big changes yet but I FEEL stronger and being stronger makes me feel lighter... and that feels really good. So far I really like the program.

Thanks, I think I will skip today. I'm wondering if I should log it as a fail today to not mess up my M, W, F workout schedule.

Nobody should wear anything unless an application has been submitted in a timely manner to myself and been approved. Otherwise, I can't condone any of it.

5'9" 145 lbs now, but my bf scale shows 30%.. What?! I don't really care how much I weigh, my freshman year of college was 135 so maybe that. Just want to do recomp to at least 25% bf

This isn't a recipe really, but I just discovered (re-discovered) jicama and I'm pretty obsessed with it. It has a lot of fiber and potassium and is delicious eaten alone (it has a slightly sweet taste but very little sugar which I like). And I'm a little lazy in the kitchen so any foods I find that meet my nutrition goals…

How would increasing calories help you lose weight?

I think my max has been 7... I'm not the best logger. Someday I'll get to 30, but I don't worry about it very much, as long as I keep at it most days and don't log for a day or two, I feel like I have as much control as I need. I'm impressed by everyone's big numbers!

I enjoy dataaaaaaaa. I guess I asked for % because it's easier to make sense for beginners but also it seemed like a good way to see information without having to know other stats like height and weight (a bigger person presumably eats bigger portions of protein than a little person generally). I do appreciate some of you…

Habits I had to learn: -Tracking -Not eating out so often so that I could track more accurately -Eating certain things helped my cravings, like getting enough fiber and protein -Drinking enough water -I learned what my trigger foods are (and am still learning). There are certain things I cannot buy because I will eat ALL…

I lost about 15lbs total at a rate of loss of an average 1 lb a week, but some weeks the scale hardly budged and others the scale went down 3 lbs. This seems like a cycle for my body. On a side note, I do know that when I first started MFP it gave me the standard 1200 calorie goal which wasn't sustainable for my 5'9 body.…

YAY! I'm running a half (my 4th) on April 12th! I ran my first three by following a pretty simple plan that involved running about 4x a week and having one long run on the weekends, increasing my long run by about a mile each week until I reached 10 mi, tapered for a week and then ran my 13.1. There are a lot of free…

I'll do it. 25 miles a week essentially.

I HATE TO COOK and LOVE TO NUKE so I have to weigh in. Apologies for length. LARGE bowl + Mixed salad greens so the bowl is almost full + Protein a little bigger than the size of my palm + Low cal dressing + chopped carrots, celery, onion(whatever you like really as long as its veggie). This is very quick to make but all…

My favorites are runkeeper, fitocracy, zombies run, in that order. Also maxcapacity when I'm not lazy. Any one else use these?

I have done it for a few weeks and really liked it, but it was hard for me to stick to because I got really sore afterwards for a couple days and it was difficult to do every other day. I saw changes in my body while I was on it tho (being on the leaner side). Every once in a while I try to go back to it. Maybe if I had…

Thanks guys! I've been doing doyogawithme.com and I really like it for variety and ease of use but I will definitely checkout yoga with adrienne. These are all great suggestions for when I need a change

welcome! wish you the best on your journey

Also, weight on the scale isn't everything. Fat takes up much more space than muscle and muscle weighs more. Take a few basic measurements with a tape measure and log them on myfitnesspal or somewhere that's easy for you. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1281

In this instance, I would not listen to anyone who doesn't know your stats or anyone that's not a professional. People tell people all sorts of things for no other reason than inserting their nose into your business. You know you. Do your own research and make sure it's healthy. If you're not hungry, congratulations!…

I am PROUD of you for getting out there!! I struggle with being brave and trying new things and general social anxiety. I have to keep reminding myself why I'm doing it, why I want to do it, and why I DESERVE to do it. Sometimes I have to remind my self more, sometimes less. Deep breaths help and remember to be brave. You…
