Weight goes up and down all the time. I use TrendWeight. I add my weight and I can see that even if it has gone up a bit, the trend is still going down.

You were drinking over half a litre of milk each morning ? There is nothing wrong with drinking heaps of milk. I drink full fat milk and I drink about four cups a day of tea. Nothing wrong with milk as it has calcium in it which you need.

Yes, 1200 is too little. I eat around 1500 a day regardless. I have a Fitbit to count cals as well. I have lost 8kg since Jan with very little effort. I'm not really hungry most of the time, but if I get to the end of the day and I'm still hungry at bedtime, then I eat something small.

Protein is the one things that you should always try to eat over. The amounts on MFP for protein are too low. Need around 100 grams protein a day.

If you have more energy you might go for an 8km walk (which I am about to do) that someone who is lethargic and run down at 1200 would not be able to do. I think you still need to take into account calories. I'm more thinking of the weight loss phase more than the weight gain phase. Also I said it was MY logic. Never said science.

Yes, you will still lose weight but you will feel crap while you are doing it and won't be able to function as well. I'm not arguing that point.

My logic is that EAT TOO LITTLE == LESS MOVEMENT == LESS CALORIES BURNED. EAT MORE == MORE ENERGY == MORE MOVEMENT == MORE CALORIES BURNED.
