I think you're doing great. Get a food scale, you have no idea how much that helps. It makes a huge difference. Try not to be too low on calories, I had mine at 1,000 and that was way too low. I'm at 1,200 now and I eat back all of my exercise calorie burns. Also, don't over estimate calories burned during exercise.

@slideaway1 yeah Insanity is super hard but I love the way it makes me feel. I work so hard during the entire workout. But since I've added the strength training, I find that I look forward to that more than the insanity.

When I first started, I drank Slim Fast for two meals for about two weeks. I was eating so much prior to this that I just wanted to get use to not eating so much. Eventually I went down to just one Slim Fast meal a day and two healthy meals. Now I drink it once in a while. I don't knock Slim Fast because it did help me.…

So basically, its better to under estimate than over estimate. My HRM shows the least amount of calories burned so I guess I'll use that instead of what MFP or the online calculators say. And from what I gather, there really is no great way to calculate calories burned?
