Thanks for the input. No steroids here. Haha! I still do weigh-ins with my dietician/FNP every two weeks, and she measures fat mass, water weight, fat percentage, etc. So, I take my scale numbers with a grain of salt. So, am I understanding correctly that I should just keep doing what I are doing for now until I hit my…

I'm 35 years old, and I am prediabetic. My joints also hurt all the freaking time. I was tired of being obese and not feeling pretty in my clothes or comfortable in my skin. I also wanted to set a good example of a healthy lifestyle for my children. So, I began my weight loss journey in June 2016. I have lost just over 40…

I usually hate the treadmill, but I still hit it before lifting so I can warm up. I find the TV really helps. I don't listen to it. I listen to iheartradio on my phone and watch the TVs. I'm weird like that, but it does help distract me.

Mine is open. I have lost 40 lbs in 5 months.

I hated quinoa until I bought the Near East boxed ones. They are mixed with brown rice and taste great. The Rosemary and olive oil is my favorite.

Hello, OP. I don't know anything about your personal situation. So, I will tell you what I do. My diary is open. My nutritionist put me on an 1100-1300 a day diet to lose weight. Eat more lean protein. Smaller meals, more often. Use healthy fats when cooking and log those. Add in fresh veggies and whole grains for your…

I know I'm not the only derelict that does this...

I bought a scale from amazon that measures your weight, far percentage, water percentage, bone weight, and muscle weight. It's like $30- $40 and is accurate to .2 lbs. Matches my nutritionist's scales. Maybe look into one? That would be the easiest way to determine the percentage.

I make iced coffee concentrate from whatever flavor grounds I'm feeling, and I pour 4-6 ounces in a glass with my Powerful Yogurt drink. Best iced coffee I have ever had!

I do wraps with the 90 calorie Flat out wraps, some reduced fat Sargento cheese, the Oscar Meyer naturals meat (4 ounces is like half the pack!), and baby spinach...maybe a little hummus. Also, a side of cucumbers, bell peppers, carrot sticks, or celery sticks...and like half an apple...or a square of my favorite…

I tried doing that. Good luck. Mine was in espoused to my GERD. Then, i found that losing weight and eating healthy helped my GGER. Now, I make iced coffee concentrate and mix that with my Powerful Yorgurt drink for a protein rich iced coffee in the mmorning. To each their own! Good luck! Stay hydrated! Great job on…

Portion control and willpower. Eat the foods you know you can have, continue exercising, and if you want that slice of pie then skip the potatoes, rice, and rolls at dinner. Just don't go overboard, a day you will be fine.

Yep! I totally gave them up. I hope and pray I never need them again....ever.

Sodium. I know the fluid retention comes if I eat out over the weekend instead of portioning and eating healthy at home bbecause restaurants and fast food use a lot more than the I would at home. Also, could be hormones. I gains 2 and a half pounds of fluid this week due to ovulation. It's starting to come back off. Not to…

Carrots and hummus is a tasty snack and can be under 150 calories. I can't early comment otherwise. I usually have half a Lenny and Larry's cookies at 180 calories....or an apple with a cheese stick.

Oh God. Could we PLEASE petition for a norovirus vaccine?!?!?! I and my entire family would be first in line every year! Never fails - January through March, my daughters and I get it, and usually one of us winds up in the ER because I am worried about one of my kiddos dehydrating. Definitely not the best way to lose 7-12…

I'm not against them. That being said, since we don't work in a high risk environment, our kids aren't in daycare, and we homeschool, I just don't see the point. That's not to say I would never get it, but we are pretty low exposure compared to others.

I found Thomas cranberry bagels in the store recently. My 4 year old loves these with a smear of the brown sugar and cinnamon cream cheese that I found at Walmart.

Have you seen the Orgain almond milk? I picked some up last night. 10g protein and 100 calories per cup. I have a freezer full of Artic Zero. Hate them. The only good ones are the ones with something in them. Like the 300 calories a pint ones. And they still are meh. I need to find Halo Top.

I am not on the pill, and my appetite varies for PMS and ovulation. Typically, I eat a lot of protein, drink a lot of water, and I have one square of Ghirardelli sea salt soiree chocolate. Lol I haven't been super hungry, but I get serious carb cravings during PMS. I try to ignore them and drink more water or go for a walk.

Greetings fellow sick person. I too have a cold. I find that modifying my exercise to suit my breathing and how I feel works best. I go for a walk if I am not overly exhausted or feeling like crap. I made homemade chicken soup last night and made sure to stay in my calories range. Basically, drink plenty of fluids, eat…

PS - I'm really sorry that you had to go through all that.

Honestly, from a psychology perspective, the only way to conquer this fear is to keep getting on your bike and riding. The more you reinforce the notion that you *can* ride without falling, the more your confidence will grow. Start small. Short rides in the driveway. Work up to going up to the end of your road, then around…

Okay. It's not a new product, but I found this recipe for making coffee concentrate at home - http://www.kitchentreaty.com/how-to-make-cold-brewed-iced-coffee-concentrate/ I used New England Coffee in the cinnamon hazelnut flavor and made it. Then, I mixed a half cup of my concentrate with one of my vanilla maple Powerful…

I just picked up Oatmega chocolate mint protein bars at Walmart, today. Quite tasty! I almost got the lemon Chia ones, but these are so good. 190 calories, 14g protein. Made with organic/grass-fed/responsibly sourced ingredients. I like it!

I buy the bigger ones and only eat half. It's the same amount as in one of the little cups. So yummy!

I just read their website. They use stevia and erythritol for their sweetener. Concentrated stevia can cause nausea and stomach upset in some people as it irritates the stomach lining. Erythritol also causes nausea, headaches, diarrhea, and upset stomach. I have trouble with some artificial sweetener, but stevia hasn't…

Oh - Don't pick the Super in Wintergreen. It is evil. I am not kidding. We did the Super in Asheville last year because my husband left his soul on the mountain in wintergreen the year prior.

With your background, you could totally do them. Look, I was almost 200 lbs and out of shape, and I still managed to complete the Beast. It's tough, but it is doable. It's a major psychological trial. The physical part isn't the problem. It's the mental part. We didn't have mile markers for ours last year, which made it…

As far as protein bars - I like the Cliff Builder mint chocolate. Definitely one of my favorites.
