AWESOME!!!

Yup! :)

I have had experiences like this with co-workers. At the end of the day, I realize not everyone has the tools in their toolbox to build a happy life- regardless of how old they are. Criticizing, the need to always be right, attempting to drag you down with the negativity -- what a drain on the resources you need to achieve…

Welcome! I think you're going to find keto very easy to do after you get used to it. This calculator can help you get your carb/protein/fat targets set up, if you haven't gone there yet. http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ This is a great group to go to for advice and encouragement, so you're already a step ahead of the…

Coconut oil seems the most efficient, especially if you get it in go packs like Twibbly suggested. @twibbly, you're going to think this is funny-- I have a cat named Twibbs! Or on a good day, Sir Twibbles of Twibbleton. :)

My favorite oil is Nutiva. Unfortunately I don't buy it unless it's on sale. I found a tub of better body coconut oil and so far no complaints. As far as achieving ketosis- this is what works for me: 20 carbs or less, and I try not to go over 1600 calories. I used the keto calculator to figure out my targets…

I am totally going to have to try this method!

Lately, my favorite BPC is 4 oz. Chameleon Cold Brew Mocha 4 oz. water, 2 T. HWC and 1T ea butter and coconut oil. I get sad when I run out. So sad. :(

That sounds like SO much fun! The closest RenFaire is in Denver- I am hoping to go this year. Sounds like a challenge though- so I would definitely over pack snacks and food- and have some pre-made meals at home when you get back at the end of a long day. I know for me, tired and hungry are like the ultimate danger zone.…

I still bake- rarely, and in very small batches, and I share whatever I make. I also make the substitutions I need to (almond or coconut flour, minimal maple for sweetener *even though it does have carbs, I don't like to use anything else) etc. Funny thing is, I used to be the family baker- and I recently shared a batch of…

Update: I switched from Net to Whole and am losing successfully. Thanks everyone for the input! :)

I love a burger with fancy cheese, bacon and a fried egg on top. That egg makes it soooo luscious.

Sounds about right. My energy with this woe has just skyrocketed. Weekends USED to be for napping, and sleeping in, and now, I'm up early cleaning the kitchen and cooking and out and about. I actually TRIED taking a nap the other day and couldn't. Go figure. :)

This is the best group! Welcome :)

LOL @tru2one, so funny. and true! Same here zoom. I'm pretty mellow and happy when I have enough fat and no sugars.

Sending you a hug, Shades.

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! I can't wait until I have my own before and after! :)

Agreed! :)

The keto (and low carb high fat, etc.) groups are generally full of well intentioned, helpful, and educated folks. Friendly and NICE. We keep snark to a minimum and will usually add a smilie to soften the blow in case any of the advice or comments may come across as hard. It's the one reason why this is the ONLY group of…

If I'm cooking chicken breasts in the slow cooker (which honestly I rarely use just breasts, I like using a whole chicken) I rub them in olive or coconut oil, and then garlic and smoked paprika. Then I ball up 3-4 balls of foil, and then put the breasts on top of the foil, so they don't sit directly on the bottom of the…

I think at some point, any weight loss plan needs tweaking, and OP, you're right to tweak your macros until you find what works for YOU. I might suggest finding a group (as suggested previously) geared specifically towards low carb: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group Do your…

Haaaa! This should be the header advertisement for ALL posts in the Main Forums. And at the end of each thread, and awards listing. :)

This. If I pre-log I then have to go back and tweak some things to fit in a snack, and it keeps me busy enough trying to get the numbers to add up- before I know it I have forgotten why I wanted a snack in the first place. Also, making sure I have enough good healthy fat is key. Usually a fat bomb fits the bill if I still…

DANG! So many people trying super hard to just be RIGHT. What a waste of time... and I only got through to page 3....

Very good point- this weekend I did my normal food prep measuring all spices and found that, in context, I probably didn't need to feel so panicked about the perceived extra hidden carbs I was getting. The good thing that came out of it though, is I now pay better attention to measurements and amounts- I can get lazy and…

I was wondering the same thing. I'm headed to the store in a bit, I'm going to look at the options. I saw a freeze dried garlic not too long ago, but didn't even look at the ingredients.

Ha!!! Looks like mine too!!! I love those lil suckers!

Shades, which spice?

Thanks! Edited above (alphbetical, now). :) Also, thank you for the advice to weigh the veggies.
